This shared task begins with Jaled`Dar in the Field of Scale. He is found among the dragons due south of the Void portal. It follows his first shared task, "Lost and Found".

    You say, 'Hail, Jaled`Dar'

Jaled`Dar says 'Why do you bother me small one? I have enough [problems] to deal with here without your intrusions.'

    You say, 'Problems?'

Jaled`Dar growls deeply, sounding something like a threat and a chuckle at the same time. 'You've proven yourself to be an ally, and I have a desperate ploy that I would like you to attempt. It will likely mean your death, but I can't send any of my own people. Are you [willing to try]?

You say, 'I am willing to try'

Jaled`Dar says 'So be it. I will trust in you. Should you tell this to my kin, and should they actually believe you, our alliance may break down and my own position may be challenged. If that happens now, we will lose this war and many of my kin will be killed. I am the leader of the Ring of Scale and my duty is to my kin as a whole, not to the murderous and irrational desires of any one of those kin. Trakanon's foolishness brought this war upon us, but I would seek an [end] to it. An end that will not require any more of my kin to die.'

    You say, 'An end?'

Jaled`Dar says 'I would speak with Ganak. I understand his anger, but I hope that he, like myself, can put that anger aside for the sake of his people. I hope to parley with him and find a way to end this without further losses. My kin can no longer enter Kaesora under any disguise. It worked for a while, but Ganak's necromancers have discovered ways of sensing us regardless of our form. I believe, however, that one without dragon blood might be able to pass unchallenged and get close enough to speak with him. It is a deadly risk, but I have come to believe that you are my only hope of success. Will you attempt to [parley] with Ganak?'

You say, 'I will parley with Ganak'

Jaled`Dar says 'Very good. Please, do not speak of this to any of my kin. Unfortunately I have been forced to keep many secrets from them on this battlefield. However, if you deliver the proper materials to Trakanon, he will likely supply the [illusion] you will need without much concern about why you wish it. Good luck.'

You have been assigned the task 'Parley with Ganak'.

Deliver 4 vial of Iksar Blood to Trakanon 0/4 (Field of Scale)

This is an uncommon drop from live Iksar in the zone.

Deliver 4 Iksar Bone to Trakanon 0/4 (Field of Scale)

This is an uncommon drop from skeleton Iksar in the zone.

Ask Trakanon for your [illusion] 0/1 (Field of Scale)

You say, 'I need an illusion.'

Trakanon says 'So be it. If you want to look like them, I'll let you. But don't expect my allies to allow you to pass through their positions alive.'

Trakanon begins to cast a spell.

Speak with Emperor Ganak about a parley with Jaled'Dar 0/1 (Field of Scale)

    You say, 'Hail, Emperor Ganak'

Emperor Ganak says 'Well, this is unusual. Normally the undead don't come to me and speak so casually. Your master is indeed bold. When we are done here I shall consider his promotion. I shall also consider his slow, painful death. Have you news of the [dragons], or have you been sent just to annoy me?'

You say, 'I have news of the dragons?'

Emperor Ganak says 'Well, then, out with it! There is much for me to do, though destroying you will make my day slightly more pleasant.'

You say, 'Jaled'Dar wishes to have a parley with you'

Emperor Ganak says 'Hah! You say that the great Jaled'Dar wishes to speak to me about an end to this war? Perhaps he should have thought about that before he let that fool Trakanon kill my grandfather!' Ganak grows visibly calmer. 'But why yell at you? You are but a minion. Besides, all here know that it is our destiny to rule this land. It was inevitable that we come to this final battle. There are only two powers left in Kunark. When this war is over there will only be one and I shall be the emperor of all the lands. Perhaps you should take that message back to [your master].'

You say, 'Who is your master?'

Emperor Ganak says 'No one is my master. Perhaps you speak of my new advisor? Likely you heard the fools in the yard speaking of her. I wonder about you. You speak in a manner that strikes me as unusual. Perhaps you actually do know what she is. Or are you and those you serve simply afraid of the power she might give me? Certainly you have no fear that she might harm me. It matters not, I can deal with her just as I can deal with you. Just as I can deal with those you [serve].'

    You say, 'Those I serve?'

Emperor Ganak smiles, showing rows of sharp, dirty teeth. 'I am no fool. I know who sent you. I know the smell of Trakanon's magic. I also know the smell of my own foot soldiers. But you are not dragon kin either, so I am curious about you. I shall examine your corpses very carefully. After that, well, whatever will be, will be.'

    Your illusion fades.

Ganak's four guards attack. They each hit for a max ~3,000 and have about 190k hitpoints. They are aggro-linked with one another, but can be kited around and picked off one by one. They also summon if damaged.

Imperial Advisor Resylar says 'For Sebilis!'
Imperial Guardian Hesalyt says 'Death to the invaders! Death to the Ring of Scale!'
Imperial Guardian Mekta says 'For Sebilis!'
Imperial Advisor Sestak says 'Death to the invaders! Death to the Ring of Scale!'

Kill 1 Imperial Guardian Hesalyt 0/1 (Field of Scale)

    An emperor without his entourage

I found the advisors in the throne room but no Ganak. Since Commander Koth had somehow gotten bugged into a wall in the library I figured the same might be true for Ganak. I cleared most of the throne room, expecting to have to pull the advisors from it, then went looking for the emperor. I found him kneeling on the second floor of a nearby building with only a roaming mob nearby to worry about. Knowing that finishing up Ganak's dialogue would dispel the Illusion: Ancient Iksar keeping my shadowknight from being mobbed I waited until the roamer moved away, hurried through the dialogue, then FDed on the spot. Ganak played a casting animation (but there was no message for whatever he was actually doing) then poofed. I got up and re-illusioned without issue.

Fortunately the emperor not only returned to his throne but decided to venture out almost immediately so the sk aggroed one of the advisors on her way back to the other two members of the team. From there it was a chaotic but brief fight to kill those four.
    Ganak walk timer
    # Jun 09 2014 at 5:37 AM Rating: Decent
Timed Ganak's walk to the hatchery at 23-24 mins.

Ganak is Hailable while walking. So it's best to wait for him to path out of his throne room/ building and into the field. There are plenty of safe spots to set up camp.

The 4 Advisors can be handled by a J3 tank merc and J3 healer with some extra healing.

Mobs (non-Ganak / Advisor) repop on about an 18 min timer.

Seems like this can't be requested again if you've already done it. Maybe you can only repeat it if someone else requests it.

You say, 'I will parley with Ganak'

Jaled`Dar says 'Thank you again for your efforts with Ganak. It is unfortunate that he was unwilling to talk.'
How high must faction be to get this task???

I am having trouble getting the NPC to give me this task. I have done the first task Raising Cabillis.

What must faction be to get the task?

I have done 2-3 captured sanark quests as well as supply quests and the illusion mask to get faction but nothign seems to work, still too low?

You CAN split your group and pull out mercs in each group, still get update on all six chars.
I had a mage in group, made this a LOT easier.

MT was SK in mostly T3 gear. 3900Ac 29500hp buffed.

I got my Illusion and hailed Emp. As soon as you see his emote run away and call for CoH. You will be going back for the other four mobs..

I set up camp just outside of Cabilis ZI. Just past the pillars (where Slact pops) the zone dips deep south, makes a very nice cuby hole to hide your groups in. Put all of them there, buff up.

I then OOCd “Anyone in south end of zone, any one doing Slact?” Nothing. Said it again, nothing. “OK, going to be pulling a train across south end of zone”.

You can FD outside of Emp. Room and the four mobs you want will path out eventually. I just ran in Invised, targed one of the four Imperial Guardians and then used an aggro only spell (despell) to pull.

Run away and head for the gates. Once you pass through them head N/W. The entire West side of the zone south of the ZI is mob free, so pull your for guardians to there at any point NORTH of Slact camp and call for CoH (or FD them off). You now have just the four to contend with. They do NOT head back right away but do quickly. I lost them a few times because I had not pulled them as far in as I thought I had).

I just smacked them and ran all four to my camp. Group one was SK Cleric Mage with T3 healer mercs. Group two was BL Shaman Druid with T1 healer mercs and one T3 War merc. My SK kept aggro the entire time, War merc in other group never even engaged.

If you die you still get updates for the one / two / three you already killed, so go back, pull all four again and just kill the one you need.

If you don't want to tank all four at once I guess you could try the method listed below, have a druid kite them and pull one off at a time. Not sure how long it takes them to re-pop but we never had new ones add the two times I did this.

    Hope it helps!

Thank you for that tip! We had two toon outside of grp healing while dps was added to grp with merc...worked like a charm. Also, our bard puller grabbed the trash in room and dragged them off a bit, faded, then went back for the four named and used invul to get out safe...kited and we pulled of one at a time(sorta). No deaths on the clean run. Our puller tried a few things to get the right strat, so be prepared for some ressing unless you can handle the lot.

Hope this helps, and thnks again for the post!
    Tips??

Just finished this mission and got some tips for you guys.

    1) They respawn very fast,so if you dont have any kiter to split them, bring enough DPS.
    2) They hit like normal Iksar(or weaker??) so you might be able to tank-mez each one of them and kill all at the same time to prevent respawn linked-aggro.
    3) FD class can split them and single pull(sort of).Pull them all to the SE side(SE to the 2 monks of Illusion quest) then FD.Pathing here is quite weird and sometimes one of them will not back off after you FD.Rinse and repeat till you get all four updates.BTW,you still need good DPS with this method. While you are fighting one of them, the other 3 are running around nearby trying to figure the right pathing to reach your current target.Would be fun if they jump on you in the middle of fighting.

    Average hit: 905

    Imperial Guardian Mekta: 185k HP

Wizard doing the logging so some of fights likely to be out of range, otherwise pretty easy. Tank merc held up well with tier 1 cleric merc and shaman heals.

    I have a 85 dru and 85 war, and 2 cleric mercs.

I was able to do the Imperials at the end doing the following.

I parked my bear pet in the throne room, targeting one of the imperials.
I cast the level 60 form of the hunter wolf form, which is a little faster than spirit of the eagle. This may not be necessary though. Then have the bear pet attack ( suicide ) on the imperial, to pull. Run like hell all the way across the zone to my war who is on the north west. All the other mobs that add will fall away. By the time i got them mobs to the dragons they were just the 4 of them.

Now, sometimes when i pull them, they run with bard speed, and sometimes not. I think if the mobs are hanging out in the throne room for a while, then they dont have bard speed; but Im not sure. either way, keep pulling them from the throne room until you get them to the dragons with no bard speed.

Build aggro on all of them with ensnare ( wont stick, but adds aggro ) or flame lick. and pull singles out of the group as my druid kites them around.

I did have the problem of more imperials repopping before i finished the first 4, and of course they run across the zone to get me. But that can be handled by repulling them and picking off different imperials to finish a full set of 4.

Hope this helps; dont give up if the imperials are bard speed, sometimes a given group will be, sometimes not, just keep pulling them across the zone till you get a slow group. ( maybe try only pulling them after they have been standing around ganak's throne room for a while.)

Or, you can just get a bard, or get 2 or more tanks, those strats also work fine.

if you don't have some form of split, dropping the mobs off by running them, will take quite awhile. but, if you have any form of split, coh, fast zoning evac, etc, you can use boo boo bear to get them angry w/ you, run off, run out to dragon area, and kite them in a fairly large "box".

you have to be careful of the 8 or 9 iksar camps, but, it's very doable. depending on your DPS, the mobs that you've already killed of this set will respawn, and tether to the one that is still on agro. We got 3 down, was looking for where the 4th ran off to, and then the other 3 tethered back to the 4th, which was.... exciting.

Took another 4 split attempts to get them to where we could pick off the tail end, w/o getting all of them at once.

He says nothing when you hand him Blood/Bones, but..

"Your task 'Parley with Ganak' has been updated.

You say, 'May I have an illusion?'

Trakanon says, 'So be it. If you want to look like them , I'll let you. But don't expect my allies to allow you to pass through their positions alive.

Your task 'Parley with Ganak' has been updated."

Make sure you're unmounted when you ask for it, or you won't get the illusion. Also, he mentions that you won't be able to pass through Ring of Scale territory with it on, but it doesn't seem to affect your /con to the dragons' forces. You can still walk through the Ring of Scale without agro.

Edit 1: A chain-speed mount will also substitute in place of a bard. :) Just stay on the mount outside of Ganak's chamber and cast a no-damage spell on one of the advisers. Once it hits, start running, since mounts need time to accelerate. But once you get going, your speed beats there's. Stay out of their way and have group pick the mobs you need out of the ever-growing crowd. :)

Edit 2: Another thing you may want to take note of is that even though the timer SAYS "Unlimited," the task will end approximately 24 hours after you receive it. This ending comes without warning and gives the message, "Your shared task, 'Parley with Ganak', has ended." in yellow text.

We tried to Mezz with Enchanter and Root Mobs. They are not effected by Roots and we couldn't Mezz them. We had a Ranger "Feather Pull" the Advisors and Guardians to our group. We had enough DPS to kill them all at once. We had a Tier V Merc helping healing and had 85 Paladin, Beastlord, Magician, Shaman, Cleric. We also had an Enchanter outside the group adding DPS. It was a tough fight but we kept healers up and took all four down this morning.

Very happy to have this one complete :)

If you are fast enough you are able to get the update and run out of the building before they all agro on you. Also this can be done using the Ancient Iksar illusion instead of the one Trakanon gives you.

After requesting the quest with the whole group, head to the fort where the emperor is. Then you can split the group into 2 and pop your merchants. (When you complete the mission all the original 6 members will get the credit even they are in 2 groups or more).

Then wait till emperor roam out of his throne room... this could take a while. Then hail him and go through the dialogue. I let the 4 mobs killed me and rez up by a safe area. (The mission still there even if the group was wiped). Now you have the task updated and only need to kill the 4 mobs.

I then just pull one of the guards (from the throne room)and FD. Got up and during the fight of that one guard, the other 3 guards came to its aid. But the rest of the mobs inside the room didn't come. with 2 groups (with merchant) was able to kill all 4 of them with no kiting.

Hope this help, especially for people who box the mission.

btw the dialogue to get the illusion is just /say illusion. I lost my illusion after death, but using the Grand Illusion mask click for Iksar illusion it still works with the emperor.

There is no real need to kite these around. Just split into two groups, pop mercs that way you got 6 merc helping also. Then when they path out of the building grab them and all assist on the same ones to burn them out fast. Hmm.. not sure what you are saying here, but it sounds like bad advice.

You need the kill credits. If you split into more than one group, one group or the other is not going to get credit.

If you mean do this mini raid style, you can't do that with mercs. Mercs aren't allowed in raid format.

[Sun Feb 01 20:28:00 2009] Jaled`Dar says 'Why do you bother me small one? I have enough [problems] to deal with here without your intrusions.'
[Sun Feb 01 20:28:05 2009] You say, 'problems'
[Sun Feb 01 20:28:05 2009] Jaled`Dar growls deeply, sounding something like a threat and a chuckle at the same time. 'You've proven yourself to be an ally, and I have a desperate ploy that I would like you to attempt. It will likely mean your death, but I can't send any of my own people. Are you [willing to try]?
[Sun Feb 01 20:28:16 2009] You say, 'willing to try'
[Sun Feb 01 20:28:16 2009] Jaled`Dar says 'So be it.
[Sun Feb 01 20:28:28 2009] You say, 'end'
[Sun Feb 01 20:28:28 2009] Jaled`Dar says 'I would speak with Ganak.
[Sun Feb 01 20:28:34 2009] You say, 'parley'
[Sun Feb 01 20:28:35 2009] Jaled`Dar says 'Very good. Please, do not speak of this to any of my kin. Unfortunately I have been forced to keep many secrets from them on this battlefield. However, if you deliver the proper materials to Trakanon, he will likely supply the [illusion] you will need without much concern about why you wish it. Good luck.'
[Sun Feb 01 20:28:37 2009] You have been assigned the task 'Parley with Ganak'.

[Sun Feb 01 20:37:04 2009] You say, 'Hail, Emperor Ganak'
[Sun Feb 01 20:37:05 2009] Emperor Ganak says 'Well, this is unusual. Normally the undead don't come to me and speak so casually. Your master is indeed bold. When we are done here I shall consider his promotion. I shall also consider his slow, painful death. Have you news of the [dragons], or have you been sent just to annoy me?'
[Sun Feb 01 20:37:08 2009] You say, 'dragons'
[Sun Feb 01 20:37:08 2009] Emperor Ganak says 'Well, then, out with it! There is much for me to do, though destroying you will make my day slightly more pleasant.'
[Sun Feb 01 20:37:27 2009] You say, 'parley'
[Sun Feb 01 20:37:27 2009] Emperor Ganak says 'Hah! Perhaps you should take that message back to [your master].''
[Sun Feb 01 20:37:42 2009] You say, 'your master'
[Sun Feb 01 20:37:43 2009] Emperor Ganak says 'No one is my master.
[Sun Feb 01 20:37:52 2009] You say, 'serve'
[Sun Feb 01 20:37:54 2009] Emperor Ganak says 'Is that your BREATH..or did something die in here..now go away!'

[Sun Feb 01 21:05:22 2009] Jaled`Dar says 'I admit that I had expected that to fail. Ganak has always been unreasonable and overconfident. This war will likely only end after his death. It's unlikely anything less will suffice.'

    Splitting
    # Dec 28 2008 at 10:51 AM Rating: Decent
We figured since we had a bard we might try splitting as this suggest but in truth they really are agro linked and will all come if noone has agro on the other 3 Advisors. The best strat is to have one kiter and pick off the adds.

was able to split the mobs with fancy bard pulling, easiest way was if not to clear and try to engage one mob at a time was wait till Emp goes patrolling then you don't have to deal with the other 8or so mobs near his thrown and pick off the guards that way.

When you receive the mission, you get the first two parts of the task:

Deliver 4 Vials of Iksar Blood to Trakanon (0/4) - Field of Scale
Deliver 4 Iksar Bones to Trakanon (0/4) - Field of Scale

These items are prelootable, but if you don't have them, the vials of blood drop from any Iksar (somewhat uncommon), and the iksar bones drop from undead in the zone (again, somewhat uncommon). Deliver them to Trakanon and you get this part of the task:

Ask Trakanon about the [illusion]. (0/1) - Field of Scale

After hand-ins, say "illusion" to get an illusion of an iksar skeleton. All group members can get this illusion if they're close enough when one person says it, but can also say "illusion" to get it. Note that only one person needs the actual illusion. The illusion itself grants the same faction modifiers as the Bone Mask of the Ancient Iksar. Once you have the illusion, you get the next step of the task (can't remember exact wording though):

Talk with Ganak about parley (not exact wording). (0/1) - Field of Scale

Enter the fortified area around Kaesora and find Ganak. He wanders from his throne room to a couple other buildings, and does go into somewhat open areas. Try to find him in one of those, and hail him. Follow the dialogue until he doesn't give you any keywords and say "parley". Follow the remaining text, but after the third one, he'll dispel your group's illusions and aggro. This will bring up the next part of the task:

Kill Imperial Advisor Resylar (0/1) - Field of Scale
Kill Imperial Advisor Sestak (0/1) - Field of Scale
Kill Imperial Guardian Hesalyt (0/1) - Field of Scale
Kill Imperial Guardian Mekta (0/1) - Field of Scale

These four are aggro-linked, meaning if you try to split them, then the other three will come as soon as they lose all aggro. They do summon at low health (and may summon at 96% too, but unsure), but if you can get someone fast enough, that person can kite all four of them around and you pick them off one-by-one. Do note that they will call for help to nearby mobs, so try and pull in a clear area. Killing them adds the final part of the mission:

Talk with Jaled'Dar (0/1) - Field of Scale

    Reward:
    Variable Chronobines
Faction with Tynoc, Herald of Scale
    Iksar Left Upper Arm Bones

This task has a lockout timer of 6 hours minus the amount of time it took to do task (so if you take 2 hours to do mission, then only have 4 hour lockout timer).
