Can confirm that you complete the first objective by walking right up to the pack leader. It JUST happened for me. I had been trying to do just this before, but it never worked. This time I don't know what made me fly down to the ground (levitating), but that seemed to do the trick. The server seems to check all three dimensions when determining if you are close enough to the pack leader to give you the objective

I just solo'd this as a level 85 shaman with a Tier 3 journeyman cleric merc. I tried many times before this (no merc, rogue merc, tank merc). I either died or had to heal so much I didn't kill them in time. My second to the last try was with a tank merc. It looked like I was dealing enough damage fast enough with my DoTs, but he could not keep aggro off me and I eventually died because I couldn't heal myself fast enough. I then thought to try the cleric. Up until now I had only used the cleric for rezzing. Well, the cleric was able to keep both herself and me healed while we were both being beat on. I put Nectar of the Slitheren and Mojo on all the gravediggers, and then just nuked as fast as I could with Bite of the Ukun. I also threw Spirit Call in there.
I set up just down the hill from when they enter the graveyard. Once I saw them getting close I spam casted root until it took. After they were all dead, I used an IvU potion, ran through the graveyard, and waited on the other side for the packleader. After that he was cake. I can also confirm that you don't need to clear anything to get them to spawn. All the times I tried this, I just waited by the graveyard for them.

Cleared the graveyard about 3 times before they spawned at about 12PM or 1PM game time.
Bertoxxulous' Chosen +15
Overall simple to get them up...work your way around the GY. Soling everything as an 83 almost 84 monk and before I was done going around one time they popped on me. Feigned them off and merc died. Time for round two....
Don't forget to look behind you......

It's been a few years, but as I remember it, they spawn in the same spot then cycle the outside of the graveyard until they get to their despawn point. All this on a timer. I remember pulling them different ways, but the best seemed to be sitting up on the hill by tree NW of graveyard. They spawn on the SE of the graveyard and move around clockwise to the NE side. You can pull them as they're pathing across the NW corner. Seems like there's another quest in the series (aug) for the mobs and tombs in the graveyard that you can work on at the same time, while waiting on respawns.

After trying this multiple times with a single group and multiple times with two groups - we finally beat this. The first time we tried this we had 80 war, 80 war, 80 pal, 80 dru, 80 wiz, 80 shaman with an 80 cleric boxed out of group. Two tries and nothing - chaos and not enough DPS. We were trying from the north side of the GY and couldn't get them burned down fast enough. When we came back with two groups, our fails were because we weren't ready when they popped.
We finally beat this by being in the GY at the east end, having the GY cleared - when the packleader and gravediggers entered the GY - we mezzed the gravediggers then burned them down one at a time very fast then killed the packleader. Even though we had two groups there for this, now that we know the strat, easily done with one group. Tank, heal, enc and the rest DPS ;)
Boo to Sony for making this so difficult AND putting only one drop on the packleader. At least "one of our own" drops three items. This one should drop three too.

First step: Find out who is digging up the graves.
To get this update, you have to wait for the orcs to path up to the graveyard from the south. There will be 1 packleader and 4 gravediggers. The packleader will head into the graveyard, and the 4 gravedigger orcs will become "live" and attack.
One the gravediggers become live, you have to run up to the packleader, and you will get the first update. Then, kill the 4 gravediggers for the next update, and so on.
Only one time were we able to kill the packleader. The other 2 times, he poofed before we could kill him. We took the 4 gravediggers down really quickly, so it wasn't a time issue. We're thinking it may be WHERE you kill them more than how FAST you kill them. Will post again on this when we've figured it out.

Trick to this is to kill the last mob at the pack leader, if the last gravedigger is to far and starts to flee at 10% they will depop, you still need decent dps for this and to keep GY cleared, but if you kill last one at leader he then agro.

the gravediggers become active a bit before they hit the gy gates. burn them asap, then pull the leader (he wont aggro undead) and burn him down. you may have to let him go the first time so you can get the first update (i dont think he will emote if youve engaged the diggers early)

Ranger, Druid, Pally, 1800AAs, TSS raid gear, Beastlord, Demi+, 1000AAs, boxed 80 cleric and chanter. We tried this several times and couldn't kill all 4 diggers before the leader despawned. I was told I had 5 min from initial agro. That's not even close or the task is bugged. On our best attempt, the leader despawned at about 30% on the last digger, elapsed time about 2.5 min. Next time I will bring a rogue which will push it well under 2 min.
The pack spawns near the NPC camp south of the GY on the road and roams up to the GY, the diggers roam the GY and the leader stands in the middle inactive, then they roam out and despawn at the first bend on the northern road out. Every 20 min.

I tried along with my group to get this guy for the quest. I have all parts done but killing the last guy. Maybe we have the wrong group setup. We had sk,cleric,wizard,shammy,ranger. We couldnt find another dps class at the time of night we were playing so the sk boxed a cleric for "some" kind of help killing throught the rest of the night. He spawns,(leading the pack)comes down the graveyard,down the path, and poofs everytime not far from were we normally set up shop on the little path beyond the graveyard. Sk would get aggro on whole pack,I would heal and they would burn them down. It seemed faster then 5 minutes,although I did not time it.
With another dps we could burn then all down somehow, but it hasnt happened yet.
Has anyone experianced anything simliar? I hope I we get him tomorrow with a full group! =)
Edit: I'm told he has to be killed inside gravyard and quickly at that. I've been doing loping plains faction and I haven't had a chance to try yet,but will soon! Can anyone else confirm or deny this?

It seems you only have time to kill 2 or 3 before they despawn so how can u kill them all to kill packleader? Thanks
Forgot to mention, they spawn every few hours or so, just hang out there, you will see them.

Actually they spawn every twenty minutes or so. But the thing is, you have about five minutes to kill all four grave diggers, or the leader will poof. You can't attack him until you kill them.
Also, only one Order drops, so only one person can complete the quest each time.

The ones who are responsible are wereorcs, at the graveyard Northeast of the camp.
