Master Vanguard Regan may be found on the second floor west of the elevator, at -1360, -1340.

You say, 'Hail, Master Vanguard Regan'

Master Vanguard Regan says, 'Vasha, ______. I have one final favor to ask of you. I have never seen the wonders of Ashengate and since I don't have the freedom to explore any more would you go have a look around in my stead? Be careful it is not the temple that it once was and will be very dangerous.'

You have been assigned the task 'Wanderlust Guild: Into the Reliquary'.

You have almost surpassed Regan's abilities as an explorer. Your final task is to have a look around Ashengate. Regan has never been there, and would be indebted to you if you could bring back information about several interesting places he has heard about.

200 Platinum
You gain experience!

Locate the Artifact 0/1 (Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale)

Enter Ashengate. Go into center wing, take a right, then follow hallways around to the left until you get to large room where a giant Scale is displayed. Location +1359, +67, as close to the Scale as you can get on the observation platform. (Note: the Scale is the "Artifact".)

Find the top of the Shattered Halls 0/1 (Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale)

Go back to the entrance hall and take the West wing. Follow ramps up. Location +428, +401 (or thereabouts). It's not all the way up to the top.

Travel across the Stone Span 0/1 (Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale)

Keep following the West wing path up and over and then down (one way). You will come to a snaky bridge with fire elementals. Location +794, +697.

There are several one-way drops to this site. Either evac to zone-in or continue following path until you come to a round room filled with lava and a platform in the center. On the far side of this room is a spiral sculpture which if clicked will zone you out to Direwind, about halfway down the ramp up to Ashengate. Go back up ramp and zone into Ashengate.

Explore the Nesting Grounds 0/1 (Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale)

Go back to the entrance hall and take the East wing. Follow the path until you come to a small building-like structure. Take a right in the second room and follow ramp down. Follow tunnel until you come across several "islands" in the sky connected by narrow rock walkways. Follow path to 3rd "island". Location +1544, -850.

Find the place where the lava pools 0/1 (Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale)

From entrance hall, take North wing to the Scale room (step #1). Using Lev (I had FoE), float down to a small landing NE of the scale, at lava level. Landing spot has a dragon-head gate to the NE (wouldn't open). Location +1893, -272 (or so).

You can gate out from here, but with FoE, I was able to work my way from rock to rock and finally get to the center rock with enough height to float back to the observation platform.

Report back to Regan 0/1 (Crescent Reach)

You say, 'Hail, Master Vanguard Regan'

You receive 200 platinum.
You gain experience!

After this, if you hail him again, Regan says:

'Hail to you ______. I'm a bit busy right now, perhaps you could come back another time.'

Final Stats on Wanderlust Guild Loadstone:

How to get between Nesting Grounds and where the lava pools

Advisor Neezin D`rahl drops a Flame Key that will open the door that leads between his spawn point and the final update for the lava pools. Very handy when you're in AG to work on The Disk of Kings for the Shield of the Otherworld (which matters again because of the Achievement is now gives, for those of us addicted to our nerd points).

very time consuming! died once during the 18 quest series. Was my mistake though, invis wore off when i was reading the posts here lol but this 1 (Wanderlust Guild: Into the Reliquary (#18)) took the longest. Solo'd it easily. used merc as bait (healer) and ran through the sections and then FDed. Occasionally the merc died but mostly she lived. Advise for step #4...when u get ud just jump off the side (i asume anywhere). I went off by mistake and zoned to Dire.

I made the mistake of not taking a couple levi rings w/ me when doing this. I succeeded in the quest, however, BE WARNED: On the 5th and final step when you have to head down in the huge lava pit to the little stone dragon head, if you don't have levi, you better have hp buffs and celest pots. The lava did 2913dmg PER time it hit. However, one way to slow when it hits is when you jump in, scroll out and aim your char facing upwards and just keep running..you'll bounce in and out and instead of it hitting you for almost 3k every second, it does it maybe every 6-8 seconds *roughly*. I didn't really time it, but I will advice USE LEVITATE! It makes it so much easier =)

AG as a Rogue
# Mar 21 2008 at 5:41 AM Rating: Decent
This step is very much soloable as a rogue with SoS. The first step, just go to the ledge overhanging lava in north wing (no SoS seeing mobs). Same spot where you sketch for AG faction quests. The second spot is at the top of the first tower on the west wing.. just stay in middle of path. The third spot is on the bridge in the third wing.. once again, just cross in middle of path. The 4th spot is the the 2nd from last egg tower on the east wing. If you (or someone you know) has the key of flame, it is much easier to go through north wing and open gates to head south.. otherwise, there are up to 3 mobs that see through SoS. One is a drake before you get to weapon racks area (marked as overseer Lazetius). One is the quartermaster in that building, and one is the named eggkeeper. You may see the last one starting from the north end of east wing, but just follow him as he paths through all the eggs. The final spot is under the dragon head at the far end of the north wing across the lava by the gate. If you did have teh key, this whole run as an SOS rogue took me 4.5 min from initial zone in.. I did have to briefly zone out after the 4rd step, but this isnt even necessary if you have stealthy getaway AA.
wheres the platform in "NORTH" ( #18, first step)
# Mar 13 2008 at 8:39 PM Rating: Decent
last part in ashengate first step. So I go in the NORTH wing ( it says center and I assume its NORTH) take first right, it bears around to left, has a circular room with a banner like thing against wall, NO platform, NO update, try again and keep going left and find a smaler room with a ball like thing hanging, NO platform NO update.
Is this in north, and exactly where is the platform they speak of??
Thanks for any help!!!

Keep going north from there. Where you took the right turn heading east (left turn west would go to an Elddar spirit) you will have to go west to get back on the centerline and head north again. You will reach a spot where there are several red robed drakkin and can go left or right in curving passages, they both come back to the final northern platform. Go up the platform and see the artifact, the ginormous blue dragon scale.

Schaw 75 monk The Tribunal anguish geared and buffless only about 13.1k and 1467 aa's can solo this.. AG is the hardest part id have to agree. The East wing is the hardiest do to all the casters and if a spell lands you can be screwed faster then you would think. Went from 100% health to 2% before my fd actualy stayed on me lol.

Only died once ONLY do to the fact that I did not have levi on and I fell off on the first update into the lava.

It can be soloed but is VERY VERY timely.

But was well worth it when finished. A feeling of great accomplishment...

Have a question about the third update loc. After you get on the bridge with the fire elementals, do you drop down off the side, to where the ooze 's are? One level down? I was at aaprox 792, 627..close but no update.

No, just the normal, non-instanced zone counts. Tried the Ashengate North instance myself and couldn't get the update for locating the artifact no matter how long i ran around Dyn'Leth's spawn point =)

Yea, How Fuc*ing ridiculous is that....the last 2 steps require you to go into raid zones, and what do you get...about 4 AC, 5 Hit Points, and 4 to all resists and stats?? Should be more like you get 10 to your AC, 75 to Hit Points, and 20 to resists and stats.

Actually, my friend, it's a group zone. You can get anywhere in this zone with a group. The raid instance won't even allow you to update your charm.

The first 17 tasks I managed to solo with invis, levitate and IVU.

This one however is not that easy.

SHrouding to a rogue doesnt work. Using DA is a luck of the draw thing, IF you happen to know EXACTLY where to go and are willing to eat it after the DA wears off.

The best way to do this is with a mini-raid of at least 2 groups. Count on several hours!

I am not sure if an FD class can solo this or not however, but it appears they might. So if your shroud XP allows you to get the Kobold (?) shroud with FD....

It can be done... BUT!

Shrouding to a rogue works, but u gotta stay behind every mob. takes a long time, a lot of patience and some luck (make sure u have someone hitting u with Flight of Eagles for it too) and make sure u hit sneak first, then hide ;P

i solo'ed this task months ago as a 75 paladin. the rogue FD shroud works, but it takes FOREVER, and can occasionaly fail the FD. The furthest update, in the east wing, i was able to get to with 1 DA and lay hands.

my charm is 45ac 350hp/mana/end , and lots of nice stats.

Edited, Feb 8th 2007 6:30pm by DukeLatan
Tried this with 75 mage 2 times and failed.
# Feb 06 2007 at 8:26 PM Rating: Decent
3rd time was a charm tho. After about 18 hours of camping in highpass for the stupid idol, I finally got it then scurried to ashengate. Right when I was about to die I clicked the idol, made myself invulnurable for 18 seconds. Got the final update, DA wore off then bam, I was dead.
Summoned corpse then finished the quest.
Overall, the final update was not worth the difficulty.
East Wing Tough Solo - Any Ideas?
# Feb 02 2007 at 5:39 PM Rating: Decent
By shrouding down to a lvl70 goblin rogue, I have been able to get the first 3 task updates done. By using sneak, I was able to get to the first location pretty easy. The 2nd and 3rd locations are a little tougher, but with levi and using sneak, I was able to do that portion. I almost made the zone out after finding the 3rd location, but died in the last tight tunnel.

Does anyone have any suggestions on getting the 4th one? I've tried about 15 times to shroud down, and try the same tactics as 1-3, but I just can't seem to get through the east wing. Any ideas other than using a group to clear?
East Wing Tough Solo - Any Ideas?
# Feb 06 2007 at 3:27 PM Rating: Decent
Update. I can seem to get groups to go to the scale room (middle wing) easily. So I tried to die, and get a rogue to drag my body through the east wing with SoS. Well apparently there is a see SoS mob right where you go down to the lava area (by the Sentrys). I mention this because my strategy was to get my body to the other side of the locked gate in the middle...rez myself through..and have a cleric DA me for the run. But the rogue couldnt' get my body through.

This quest is ridiculous. It's got good stats but the time necessary isn't worth it. I'd rather spend time doing anything else. I can make better use of all this time getting AA's or doing faction quests for a real chance at good gear. Seriously, come on Sony.

Rogue Misconceptions
# Dec 19 2006 at 11:27 AM Rating: Good
Rogue is a way of life, not a couple of special class abilities. I done this easily on my Rogue yes but shrouding mage to rogue I was able to get through using basic Rogue tricks we learn early on.

/sneak behind things that see you
/trace pathing and
/be sneaky
Fight smarter not harder.

Even as a 75 monk with good gear getting through the east wing is very very tough. In most of the north and west wings, using FD, Sneak, invis potions and Imitate Death was enough - here, I've taken 2 deaths so far. I'll wait till I get the Vet AA rez back up before I try for that again.

I was able to make it through no problem. It took a while, but no deaths. I used a combination of sneaking around mobs, Impen to dash through clusters, and FD dashing with Imitate Death as back up.

Agree on the East: I didn't die but can't say how much enlightened "flopping" v. luck it was. I strongly suggest having Stonewall up to around 6 (obviously 7-10 would be better). I all likely hood you're going to run into at least one cluster cast.
Sidenote: the Loc was right on but the actual trip point is on the end of thin stone bridge leaving island 1 and before the turn toward island 2 or 3. Not that it's much, but you don't need to go the additional way to island 3 as it says in the write up above. (At least that's how I interpret the "small stone islands" on the map.)

I would second this. Finished the task tonight. My 75 monk, anguish/tacvi equiped and 1100 aas made it through, but it was slow going since I didn't know the zone. Especially the east is hard. The guildies who have made it through solo used the rogue shroud trick.

Using Kobold Rogue shroud, which has FD I just got done with update #3 .. FD flopped all the way to it , died a couple times in the process, took a couple hours.

update #4 will be the real challenge.. I fear the drakkin casters breaking FD , which is already tough to do as a 6k hp shroud

I think it's possible though.

OTW to step 4 (nesting grounds), There is a SEE SOS mob called 'Snapper.' If you F9 out, and watch for him around the corner, you can see him path away left, then move up right, wait for him to path back down to where you just came from, then lev over him to avoid.

Shamelessly cut-n-pasted from Latan's post under Ashengate forums... put these in your ashengate_1 map file at the end.

Objective Progression:
Locate the Arifact loc: +1360, +60
Find the top of the Shattered Halls approx: +380, +400
Travel across the Stone Span loc: +792, +681
Explore the Nesting Grounds +1550, -860
Find the place where the lava pools +1850, -330
Report back to Regan

EDIT: Did this with my Rogue no problem. Just about everything I conned saw through regular invis but nothing saw through SoS. Make sure you have a good lev! I got stuck down at point #3 "Travel across the Stone Span" and had to be CoH out. #5 is back just past #1 but you have to do 1-4 first. There was a unopenable gate at #4 preventing passage directly to #5... had to go all the way back to the zone in.

I cannot get these updates to show up in my map whatsoever after copying them into my ashengate folder. Is there anything else I must do to get these to appear on my map? I have done this several times before with the other zones as well as with the slipgear's gem and had no problem at all.

Update: I just found out that you cannot be in the same zone while trying to save these files or you will not be able to save them.
