This group task begins with Freemind Cipher at location -1500, -700 in Undershore.

The Last Migration (Hard) is a non-monster mission that is pretty straight forward. Loot a chest, get key, kill mob in front of door, unlock door with key. clear mobs from room, hail shroom escort the shroom to the zoneline and win.

When you reach the Sporali Freespore, the task will update:

The sporali's thoughts are suddenly tempered with fear. It wants you to stay close as it attempts an escape. It fears the shiliskin zombies who have been conducting experiments on it for the last several days. You realize it will be a moment or two before the sporali masters its fear of the zombies and is able to make its attempt.

On the way to the zone-out, various mobs will spawn in waves of two to attempt to stop you.

The shiliskin undead shout back and forth in an unknown language as they spot the escaping sporali.

When you reach the zone out:

The sporali thanks you by unleashing a flurry of confetti-like spores. Before it disappears into the caverns of Darkhollow, it nods and offers you an unknown item wrapped in a tattered cloth.

Having freed the sporali from the zombies it will undoubtedly be able to return safely to the Freemind Cipher. The final spores of the sporali leave you with impressions of gratitude and happiness.

Even if you clear the entire zone - mobs will spawn as the Shroom is escorted back.

Which, wouldn't be an issue, except that the Shroom has VERY low hp, and VERY high agro. So he will glue a mob to him while it beats him to death in about 10 seconds. Nearly impossible to complete this task because of that. Chain stuns and taunt wouldn't even get agro off him. Also you CANNOT heal or buff him. He just has a death wish and you won't stop him.

Mobs almost always hit him for max damage(like 1229 on hard), and he also hits for 1229, except he has around 1/5th their HP.

I tried this mission on the progression server being a 71 sk with a 71 shammy box, healer merc and dps merc.
I ended up giving up, because whenever i engaged a mob, the WHOLE zone added. And i mean like 20+ mobs, each time i engaged a mob.
No need to say i couldn't handle that ...

This happens because this zone has TERRIBLE pathing. If you pull any mobs from the front, what happens is they fall into the pit trap, and then run around a hallway with a lot of other mobs creating a train. The only way to avoid this is make sure to ONLY pull mobs to the left, and even then, use an FD or fade puller.

I've run this mission a few times now where no tricks were used, cleared down to the freespore, never aggroed or damaged him, he gets to the top and walks away with no completion. 4rth time failed/glitched, 2nd time failed without ever aggroing him (can FD) not sure why. Anyone? Only thing I can think of is maybe I need 3 real players in zone instead of 2 and a merc?

These mobs are beyond cake, these days. I cleared the entire zone = in about an hour and a half with a t5 merc. I just parked war-bot at IZ. I took my time, since I was new at this. I'm sure I could do this in under an hour easy, if i did it again.

Corrupted netherstone amulet also drops here. Two of them fell off trash.

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=73098

When I hailed the little shroom, he walked up to the top. I had 2 sets of two adds. They both agro him, but just sending pet on both of them made them pretty much instantly agro me. I stood on top of them as well and just tanked for pet. All mobs here were light blue and didn't hit every hard. I went back and checked and it's like 20 205's and then once for 1020. I think a T1 merc could do this, A T5 merc is overkill. I dont think my merc ever went under 95 mana.

When the little guy went up top, I did not get an update. He waited a few minutes, then pathed back to home.... and in the process of doing so, spawned two more sets of two adds on his way back.

He went back to spawn, and I did the rehail (save) and he didn't move.

So I smacked him and ran him back to IZ. And I still did not get update. He hits/quads for max 1k as well, and he hit a few times harder than the other zone trash, it seemed to me. More 600's, less 205's.

He started pathing back again. So I snared him and ran him back to IZ to feign and try for update again and (OOPS!) zoned out. Which updated the task. Don't ask me how, it just did.

Warrior got the medal as did two guild mates who I had TA'd who were in other zones, so.. you don't have to be in zone to get the aug. Which is nice. One person can do this and get 5 melee's augs, if they wanted to. I just destroyed mine.

he doesn't path to any side rooms, but the chest with the key is in a side room. I'd say it took about 5 minutes for him to path up. Took me about 2 minuets per "wave " of adds to kill them, so that seems about right.

Peace.

I had the same problem as a previous poster - cleared the zone, hailed him, killed 2 waves of 2 mobs on the way back, and when he got to the exit he just stood there and no update. Then he started walking back, more mobs spawned, killed them, he ended up back at his original position. So tried various hailing/aggro/snaring combos until finally left him parked at the zone in. I also zoned in and out a few times, but still no update. Finally I waited and when snare wore off him at the zone in and he started walking again I got the update and rewards.

Kinda buggy but stick with it I guess.
no fail

Easiest method is to clear the entire zone of mobs staying clear of the Sporali Freespore. Once you are the only things alive + the freespore follow his prompt. After he gains courage and starts walking, just after leaving the previously locked door two mobs will spawn and try to kill him. They are easy to taunt off.

After those two are dead the sporali will make his way to the zone line and the task will auto-complete with cursor rewards. Be sure to get all your /taskadd'ing done before you walk him out.

Bug to do this faster. Just confirmed it.

When you clear down to the freespore, have a sk activate the freespore when he begins to move aggro him with a hit or taunt and run him to the zone out and FD. Keep his near the zone in when you feign. He will eventually deaggro and stop and the zone in and quest completed and no waves of mobs spawn.

Just got the reward 12/6/08

Aggro and bring him to zone out, fd, hail.
Wait him to recover from fear of zombies and quest finish.

worked for us. we used an SK to activate and aggro and drag the sporeling to the zone out, where the SK feigned death and a second group member hailed and activated the freemind again. he stood for a minute or two, and then marched into the door and we got our just rewards.

It does work just did it then. But One thing to try is make sure once you get him to zone you hail him, say "save" and then pull a mob near by. Once mob is dead, BAM you have your reward :)

Its safest to just clear the 20 or so mobs to zone in, the shroom has about 1200 dps and makes it really easy. 80monk with t4 healer took bout 30min, trained down to shroom, waited to lose agro, said "save" and started walking up. i would pull the guardian somewhere without adds though.

Zone in. Chest did not appear on track. Our chest was in the pit, but it can be in any of the long corridors that end under water. Crawl as you fight down each corridor. Good healing a must, crowd control a big plus. Once you have found the chest, open it and loot key. Fight to named at door. Pull as many of the trash as you can before you engage Guardian. Once he is dead, clear as much of the main central area as possible. Open the door, kill the two mobs at the door, and clear the entire room. Once you hail and dialogue the shroom, you are on the clock. Do not hit the shroom or he will attack you. The shroom walked up the *right ramp* and once past the door up the *right side* of the central area. Make sure that whole area is clear of mobs before you start his escape. We only got one pop of mobs during the escape - two undead mobs. That was it - mob pathed to zone out and we got our reward. Mobs did not repop. If you know where the chest is this mission can be done in 30 minutes.

Bug? Did not get credit on first attempt...

Completed this mission on May 17th/08 in two attempts. Group configuration was OVERKILL with 80 Pal, 80 Monk, 80 Sham, 80 Zerker, boxed 80 Cleric, and 76 Rogue. Took us two attempts, each one about 25 mins where we cleared almost the entire zone.

On the first attempt, our group successfully escorted the Shroom back to the zone in point but the mission did NOT give us credit for the win. After about 1 min, the Shroom wandered back to his spawn point at which time additional adds spawned and killed him.

I'm wondering if the entire group needs to be at the zone in with the Shroom upon completion to get credit? As our group escorted the Shroom past the Pit, one member fell into the pit trap and was swarmed by mobs. All but one of our group jumped into the pit to rescue him and were never at the zone in point with the Shroom.

On the second attempt, our group again successfully escorted the Shroom back to the zone in point with ALL group members intact. After about 1 min, Shroom turned, as if to path back toward the spawn point, but this time we were given credit for the win (Success message on screen + Loots on curser).

Did the hard version last night, and one mob was still mezzed when the shroom hit the zone line, he then went all the way back to his spawn point, spawning another wave, again wandered back to the zone line, and again back to his spawn point , with 2 more waves ensuing. He was stuck at his bind point and would respond to hails but would never leave his bind point.
Tried several times to train him to zone, to update the quest, which resulted in several more waves of mobs and him always returning to bind point.

FINALLY trained him to zone and MEZZED him there, chanter zoned out, and after 1 minute mez wore off, and at last, SUCCESS the mission updated as he walked forward to the door before turning around. No idea why it was necessary to do that to win, definitely bugged.
Possibly rooting him at zone could work also.

Did this on hard last night. Any time I have done Nargilor Pits missions the chest has been in only 3 places, the pit, or the 2 underwater rooms. Last night it was in the 4th side room. I had never seen it there before and I personally have done a few dozen Nargilor Pits missions.

Did this last date (hard).

I was not offered (upon hailing) this task (or even an easy version of this task). It had to be obtained by a fellow group member.

Having never done any Freemind Cipher missions before, it appears this task clearly has pre-requisite task(s).

Anyway -- the hard version is not a push over task.

A puller (or crowd control), good tank and good healer (I had an alt toon as healer) are very much needed. A slower will help of course.

Basically, pull and kill everything in the center area (to include wanderers that come in and out of the hall ways).

If you have a rogue or a FD puller, they can find the chest (An Ornate Chest) in one of the side halls, so you only have to clear down one of them to get the key (same Triangle key as with other missions in this zone).

Then kill the Guardian and then use the key to open the door.

The Sporali is across on the far wall, but you need to clear here too.

He will walk to his left, so clear that side and middle of MOB's, if not the whole room.

Hail him and he will begin to walk in about 2 minutes.

Follow him.

My group did not have any Shilliskin attackers spawn (2 of them at once) until he got thru the locked door.

This is the only wave of attackers we had.

After they were dead, he walked back up the ramp. He pathed right over the pit trap, but he did NOT fall in.

He then went up to the zone for the win.

A Chest spawns right there at the zone in.

Will prolly need to clear the whole zone, as the rescued npc will wander though rooms on his way out. It doesnt follow, it needs you to follow it, and save it from the mobs. We had cleared the main hall and the big room at end, then hailed it, took about 2 mins for it to start moving. As it got to the top of ramp in big room, 2 mobs ran at it. Most of group went down, I managed to lower the hp on the last mob for the NPC to kill it. But it wandered into rooms that we didn't clear and it died fast.

He never wandered into the side rooms before.
Perhaps there was a caster in the side that was agroing him when the other two appeared?

No change, that group just didn't clear the roamers from the room and one got close enough to agro. I assure you the shroom doesn't go into the side rooms on his own. I just finished this mission and got the chain helm for the 10th time! Where is my dang AC augs or mage robe?

One thing of interest, EVERY single time I've done this mission there is one roaming Accursed shadowknight that paths the entire zone, has no set path and agroes at some point in time no matter what. He randomly walks through walls too, sometimes ends up behind my group at the zone in.
