For an overview of the Dragons of Norrath expansion, see this wiki article.
For an overview of progression, see quest entries for Norrath's Keepers and the Dark Reign.

This is a non-progression task. It is a group mission (3-6 players) that begins with Kanetheus Forestwalker (click for map image) in the Norrath's Keepers camp of the Lavastorm Mountains.

Pre-requisites for requesting:
- Minimum "indifferent" faction with Norrath's Keepers

Hail him to get a quest selection window pop-up.

You have been assigned the task 'Death Comes Swiftly'.

We think that with the recent discovery of this area, the natural balance has been upset as the local spiders have begun to terrorize the entire area. We need you to find their lair and reduce their numbers back down to acceptable levels.

Note: This group mission scales to your group's level. The highest is 68+, outlined here.

Touch the cave entrance to The Ascent 0/1 (The Broodlands)

The entrance will be marked on your compass. It's found in the snowy mountain area west of the non-instanced entrance to Stillmoon Temple.

Kill 10 crevice weavers 0/10 (The Ascent)

Kill 5 crawling warders 0/5 (The Ascent)

Kill 1 Lair Mistress 0/1 (The Ascent)

From the zone-in, head to a cave about halfway up to bottom half of the zone (right side). You'll find the Lair Mistress in an alcove at the back of this cave once you have killed your quota of crevice weavers and crawling warders. You should get the necessary kills as you make your way up.

"crawling warder" mobs proc "Spider Venom":

Spider Venom: Single Target, Poison (-17)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 21 (L1) to 125 (L105) per tick
2: Increase Poison Counter by 1 (L1) to 36 (L105)

The Lair Mistress hits for a max ~1,200; AE rampages; is immune to mez and stun; and casts "Arachnae Venom", "Venomed Mist", and "Paralyzing Venom":

Arachnae Venom: Single Target, Poison (-30)
2: Decrease Movement by 41% (L1) to 95% (L16)
3: Decrease Hate by 150

Venomed Mist: PB AE 400', Poison (-300)
1: Decrease Mana by 50 per tick
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 500 per tick
3: Increase Poison Counter by 36

Paralyzing Venom: Single Target, Disease (0)
1: Feign Death, 87% Success Rate
2: Stun (1.00 sec)

Lair Mistress has been slain by _____!
Lair Mistress's corpse falls to the ground in an expanding puddle of green blood.

Thanks to you, the natural harmony of the area has been returned.

Rewards:
Up to 30 Radiant Crystals (number varies according to group's level)

Celrak Blightblood offers this same named task in the Dark Reign camp. He offered it when I reached level 59 with amiable faction.

Did the mission tonight. Keep going to the right, you end up in a cave full of spiders, kill off the cave, and at the upper right-hand part of the cave is a little niche. That is where the named spawns.

LM spawns earlier and where's the zone out?

We just did this task and after killing 9 of the weavers (1 short of the 10 required) and 5 warders, the Lair Mistress was up and there weren't any more weavers around. So we killed the Mistress. The whole group was at about 20% health when she died. Just then, repops started and wiped the group. Had our SoS rogue pull corpses back to zone in and rezzed there. Invised our way to the first weaver, killed the cats around there, then killed the weaver to complete the task. Then the question came up, how to we zone out? One of us speculated that it was behind LMs spawn point. He tried to make it there to zone out, but died just right about where she spawns. We ended up booting everyone from the task (since we'd already completed it and gotten the reward). But that still leaves the question unanswered, where's the zone out?

Found the exit, it's right next to where the Lair Mistress spanws. The reward we've been getting is 30 per task competion (that's with levels 72x3, 71x2, 66) and a Norrath Keepers Token.

None of the cats, drakes, and stone sentries so far have seen through invis. You can bypass several chunks of the route by invising past it.

edit: Just wanted to add that we've seen one Coarse Silk drop approx every other time through.

2nd edit: On one trip through, one of the stone sentry guys did see through invis. This caught us totally off guard. Recovering from a wipe in there is painful.

There must be 3 players minimum to have this task up. And maximum 6 players of course.
Concerning Lair Mistress, she cons DB at lvl 70 but RED at lvl 61. I didn't receive any AE. She is immune snare/root and is partially slowable.
Necromancer 70, The Rathe.

I've done this mission a few times recently (Coarse silk thread averages 1 drop per mission) and I think two of the missions we never got hit by an AE. The rest of the time we did, however. Poison based, cured with RC3.
Solo?

is this still a solo mission or Minimum of 3 playres?

This mission has a 20 minute respawn timer on all mobs.

crevice weavers: upon zone in you will find puma's and spiders spawned. The pumas are merely in the way.

1) there are 3 crevice weavers in the little cubby to the left as soon as you zone in. Have a puller split them and you have your first 3 done. On the way up to the 3 way intersection you should have 5 more to kill. At the 3 way there is one that hides in the depression in the middle.
2) hang a right at the 3 way and you will see an arch of a cave. have a puller split pull the spiders inside. there should be 2 more weavers and then a few warders.
3) once you kill the 10 weavers and 5 warders the Lair Mistress will spawn. she as a small range dot that is not too bad so just burn her down and you are done. no loot.

Did this mission a couple of times 2 weeks ago, and I don't remember the Lair Mistress having an AoE at all, or if she did it was a very very small range. Just did this task and her AoE hit all 5 of us and just about took us all out. We went in low on mana anyway (only had shammy healing), cuz we never had a problem with the Lair Mistress before.

Here is a link to the AoE she casts...50mana, 500hp per tic dot. http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=3770&source=Live
Lair Mistress

Is Lair mistress spawned upon zone in? or does she spawn after completing the first 2 stages? Also where does she spawn?

The Lair mistress spawns after completing the first 2 stages. Trying to remember exactly where she spawns, but I believe the best way is to go right whenever possible. You'll end up killing all the mobs you need for the first 2 stages and that should lead you to where she spawns.

Alright, I just found the nifty link I used for info about this mission (worked great for me):
