Change Race

It's a bit cheesy, but if you want to do Keeper's faction and you're Dark Elf or another evil race, consider paying the cost to change race and more importantly religion to good side. You can quickly knock out the DON progression and change back. The only reason to do this these days is for the AA benefits. I know this works, because I had a dark elf toon working faction up and it was taking forever. Stuck at dubious, I changed race to Human and religion to Mith Mar. Conned faction immediately after race change and was amiable. I'll probably change back to DE after I get it done, though, not a huge priority.
How I did it
# Oct 22 2011 at 1:42 PM Rating: Decent
It took me 3-4 Norrath's Keepers Token turnins to reach indifferent with Norrath's Keepers.
Then it took another 3-4 tokens to reach amiable.
Exactly 19 token turnins + 6 solo tasks (T1 + T2 progression) to reach kindly.
Another 10 tokens + 3 solo tasks (T3 progression) to reach warmly.

Remember that you get tokens from the progression missions and raids, too.

The raids were completely trivial at level 90 for a 90 warrior/cleric/wizard combo, except for the last one ("In the Shadows"). The group missions are easily solod at level 90.

There is a 45 minute lockout between missions. I did "Children of Gimblax" (the T1 progression mission) until "The Creator" became available (either at indifferent faction or at amiable, dont remember). With a fellowship campfire at the mission npc and teleport bind outside the instance, "The Creator" took me about 10 minutes from start to finish.

You need a party of three players to request a group mission, and a party of six players to request a raid. After requesting it, the other players can drop the group(but not the raid/mission!), they dont have to participate. You have to suspend mercenaries before requesting a raid.

The Bind Affinity idea works well, but you cannot bind at the Wayfarer camp outdside; only at one of the camps within the caves.

Quick tip for helping those trying to raise their faction through doing the wayfarer quests.

For working up my faction in order to get started with my progression on the good side I did just this; which made my faction grinding time 100 times quicker. Make sure to have your bind point set to the wayfarer camp inside lavastorm. You'll want to have your bind point at Elanye since she is the one you'll be doing all the quests with. Next, have a fellowship set up and either gather 2 friends (3 total including yourself) or box two toons for your fellowship in order to lay a campfire inside Stillmoon Temple.

Now when you receive the quest (And only the quest) Goblin broth..accept it. Campfire into Stillmoon temple (using the campfire warp) and kill off your mobs and loot the 7 meat. Once finished "gate" back to your bind point at the wayfarer camp and get the same quest again and rinse repeat.

KEEP IN MIND THAT SOMETIMES ELANYE WILL OFFER YOU "Blood of the winged". Do not accept it. Just hit esc and eventually ELANYE will offer you Goblin broth again and rinse repeat. Was very quick faction grind.

Since you have to be high amiable to start T3 and there's only so many Gimblax and Creators you can do before your brain melts, I have feedbacked to SOE that we need more NPCs to kill to faction so we can start T3. I'd like you to do the same before the May 15th patch.

Cannot turn in Tokens

I am a lvl 69 DE/Inny Mage. I have done 15 "population control," 6 "silk gathering," and 16 token missions including Goblin Dojo. I am currently dubious with both sides (guild is on Keeper side). However, unlike what is listed below, I have never succeeded at turning in a token. I tried giving to Tatsujiro and the two other mission givers: Elanye and Bithral. They all give it back saying they don't want it.

This is a huge time sink that really ticks off lower level people trying to actually get exp in the temple and lava lair. At 69, most mobs are green or gray. So, hours of time & no exp = classic EQ time sink.

Well, I'm not getting any faction here .. so, back to the grind.

Edit: gave up for a while, just started again today (8/17/08). Found Wayfarers Mercenary Youra accepts the tokens - dunno why I didnt see this before.

As what? What race? What did you start as? Con-wise, I mean. A friend is going through this now as a DE / Inny works.shiper. Any details would be helpful. Thanks.

As a evil dark elf lvl 75 necro I started out KoS to Keepers.

I have done 36 tasks and 10 or so token handins and I have moved from KoS to Dubious for Keepers and Threatenly to the dark reign.

The first post is inaccruate in that there are lots of drakes in the north east part of the zone. I just put pet on hold and run to the start and FD. Killing them is easy with tank pet. I can kill two and three at a time.

I am about to give up. Its simply cheaper to sell rk II spells, buy crystals, and get the augs I desire.

Dark Elf Necro here. I actually started out doing Evil and then switched to Good because all my guildies were doing good. You think you have it bad!

The benefit of doing progression are the rewards which include raising stat caps, additional HP and Mana, etc.

I'm starting to do the same for Dark Elf Cleric and I'm getting very frustrated that faction moves so slow. He's done about 8 tasks and 20 token turn ins and still dubious. What makes it worse I cannot stand faction and could care less in just about any other instance (ie: old world zones). In the 4 years of playing this game I have only concerned myself with faction twice: DoN Progression and TSS Wraithguard (easy).

I'm just taking it casual for now and every time I have an opportunity to do a mission and get another token, I just turn it in. Eventually my faction will move.

Good Luck.

As a necro, I made the mistake of changing faction to Keeper's since the majority of players were good... (I had done all the progression before on my bard on keepers and never once did a DR mission). Sheesh, it was quite a time sink to get the faction.

16 Tasks (Silks, Blood of the Winged, etc)
7 Tokens from missions
6 DR Guards

I was told it takes 30 tasks or tokens to get faction to indifferent if you haven't done ANY factioning yet. It also seems that the faction hits from the guards are very small as opposed to the tasks and missions. They are a royal pain anyway.. there are only 5 or 6 of them and they take 30 mins to respawn. They have ridiculous hp, summon and are quite tough to solo. Your time is best spent on tasks.

At lvl 70, this was easy work, but just way too long. If you make the mistake of doing it tho.. I suggest doing the spider silks in Lavaspinners. Its the best one due to the fact that there are plenty of spiders and the zone is usually empty. Blood of the Winged would be good, but there are only 5-6 drakes there and they take 20 mins or so to reapawn. The tasks in Stillmoon are easy, but if there are other people there, it takes a while and its annoying to share the mobs..

Anyway, I hope this info helps. Good luck..

You can hand tokens to the non-quest givers by Bithral and Elanye and still get faction hits according to the token. Im sure its not as much as if youd hand it in in the camp but. . . its the only way I at dubious to both sides can turn them in.
# Jan 02 2006 at 8:00 AM Rating: Decent
I have the same problem. I play as an ikar beastlord (lvl 69) I have done at least 25 DON adventures and handed in the tokens. I have done about 3 solo missions and am still threatening. I haven't killed any dark reign guards yet but am considering it now as I would like to get on with the Norrath keeper's don progression quests.

They make it far too much work for us Iksars to get good faction. It's bad enough that my partner is a ll 70 cleric already with double my aa's due to to my XP penalty.
# Jul 13 2007 at 6:34 PM Rating: Decent
pretty sure exp penalty doesnt apply to AA exp iirc
Long faction road
# Dec 13 2005 at 6:04 PM Rating: Decent
As Mentioned below the requirements seem insane to sitch sides.

As an Iksar I have now done

25 Tasks from the neutral camp trying to gain faction with the Norrath Keepers and have 83 faction hits from killing guards of the dark reign and am stuck at dubious still with the Norrath keepers and they will not accept the tokens and I am threateningly to the dark reign.

changing faction teams?
# May 09 2005 at 7:51 AM Rating: Decent
For those considering switching faction teams, here's my progress starting from no missions done to current. Am a DE elf worshipping Innoruuk, on Dark Reign faction by default to start.

0 missions threateningly
5 missions dubious
18 missions + 10 DR guard kills dubious but threateningly to Dark Reign
22 missions still dubious to NK

At this point I am really getting irritated...SOE makes a simple choice such a chore to accomplish.

To do quests/tasks from the folks inside the caves you need to get to indifferent faction first. The simplest way is to get quest from the camp outside the caves. When you get them at the camp pay attention to which NPC you go to as 2 of them pass out Norrath Keeper tasks and 2 others hand out Dark Reign tasks. In addition you get faction from killing the guards from the opposing camp, but at 52 that is prolly not doable on your own, though you should be able to get faction hits tagging guards once while someone else is killing them
# Apr 21 2005 at 9:53 PM Rating: Decent
Okay! I get to level 52 having done nothing for either side Keepers or dark reign and I get told That the recruiters won talk to me becuase I havent been friendly!! What gives the only thing I have done are lavastorm quest last month!! How do I regain faction so I can declare for keepers
