Kordian Keshalian is found on the upper level of the Deepwater Knights guildhall, near the rail.
Kordian Keshalian says 'Good day Izeryen, is there something I can help you with? I am currently training young paladins the way of our house so if you are a [paladin] perhaps we can start you off on the right path.' You say, 'Aye, I am a paladin' Kordian Keshalian says 'All right then Izeryen, lets see what you got. When you are ready to begin I will send you into the field to collect [various items].' You say, 'What various items should I collect?' Kordian Keshalian says 'There are numerous items that you will need to collect and combine in your kit. I will present you with the recipe for Sentinel [Helms], [Bracers], [Armguards], [Boots], [Greaves], [Gauntlets] and [Breastplates]. When you are ready to attempt a specific piece please let me know what piece you wish to [craft] and I will give you the necessary mold along with the recipe.' You say, 'I wish to craft Breastplate.' Kordian Keshalian says 'To create your breastplate material you will need to combine 5 Bricks of Crude Bronze, 1 Skunk Eye, 1 Large Briar Snake Skin, 1 Snake Fang, 1 Skeleton Tibia, and 1 Snake Bile in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a forge along with this mold to fashion your very own Sentinel's Breastplate. Return to me for one [final favor] I have to ask of you after you have completed your breastplate.' You say, 'What final favor can I do?' Kordian Keshalian says 'Well you see we have been having quite a problem with poachers benefiting off of our wildlife and I think as Paladins it is our duty to see that it does not continue. If you would like to help I will have you collect some [specific items] along with the head of a poacher.' You say 'What specific items should I collect?' I'm a Erudite paladin here on Drinal server. I'm lvl 9 now and I just finnished my newbie armor quest last night. I started when I was lvl 7. Took me about 6hrs from start to finnish. Plate armor looks great on us Erudites, I just have a quarrel about the color of our armor. Its purple! Then again I think its about the same color as the uber Deepwater armor. I just need the Giant spider throax. I was told that the spiders also spawn in Gfay. Indeed there were large widow spiders but no giant ones. I also hunted the spider in Tox late last night for almost 2hrs. I only saw one spawned, killed it and it didn't drop my thorax. Will be going back to Tox today...

just killed a giant wood spider twice in a row by pok book in Necktulos forest & it droped both times .........my Necro cant use it :-(

this also drops off the level 2 spiderlings in Everfrost Peaks near Halas/Blackburrow. my 2cp worth.
The only place in Norrath that Giant Wood Spiders are found is the Misty Thicket. Finding a usable Thorax is tedious... they are uncommon, maybe even rare.

They thorax's drop off just about any spider now. One place i see them drop constantly is nektulos forest.

These drop off of large spiders in the Qeynos catacombs, and often. So does one or two other giant wood spider parts, but the names of those espcape me.
I was down there with a new character on Stromm and just noticed this. I think I remember seeing a new type of rat too, but I hadn't been down there in a long time, so I can't be too sure.
In any case, I killed a dozen or so large spiders and every one of them had some sort giant wood part on it.
