Josylyn Greenblade says 'Greetings Dobbila. It is my duty to teach young Fier`Dal the arts of defense and fighting so that they may become skilled members of the Emerald Warriors. There are many [threats] facing our forests and our home Kelethin, thus we warriors must be prepared both physically and mentally to defend our people. It is wise for all young Emerald Warriors to acquire a [suit of armor] to protect them from the weapons of our enemies.' You say, 'what suit of armor' Josylyn Greenblade says 'You will require this specially prepared Mail Assembly Kit to assemble a suit of Emerald Novice Armor. The required materials vary depending on the piece of armor you seek to craft. Once you have been properly outfitted return to me and I will present you with another [task]. Do you seek to craft [Emerald Novice Gauntlets], [Emerald Novice Boots], an [Emerald Novice Bracer], an [Emerald Novice Helm], [Emerald Novice Greaves], [Emerald Novice Vambraces], or an [Emerald Novice Breastplate]?' You say, 'what task' Josylyn Greenblade says 'Although our city of Kelethin gains much protection from its construction in the treetops of the Faydark, like all things it has weaknesses in its defenses. The Crushbone Orcs often attempt to ignite the trees with the fires of their torches. Young Emerald Warriors are often stationed on the forest floor beneath Kelethin to watch for these orc arsonists and stop them. Go now to the forest floor and should you catch one of these orcs slay him and bring me his orcish torch.' an orc arsonist is located in the NW corner of Greater Faydark, next to Gurleg Bribgok. Loot the Orcish Arsonist's Torch and give it to Josylyn. Josylyn Greenblade says, 'Good work, _____! Take this Dull Emerald Novice Sword and sharpen it in a forge with a sharpening stone. It may take you several attempts if you are not familiar with the process. Once that is accomplished, bring me the Sharp Emerald Novice Sword, a Pristine Forest Drakeling Scales, and an Arborean Amber. I will put the finishing touches on the sword.' Your faction standing with Emerald Warriors has been adjusted by 5. Your faction standing with Indigo Brotherhood could not possibly get any worse. Your faction standing with Merchants of Felwithe has been adjusted by 1. Your faction standing with Kelethin Merchants has been adjusted by 1. You gain experience! Combine the Dull Emerald Novice Sword with a Sharpening Stone in a forge (trivial 19) to make Sharp Emerald Novice Sword. Return Sharp Emerald Novice Sword, Pristine Forest Drakeling Scales (from forest drakelings) and Arborean Amber (from arborean saplings and mature arboreans) to Josylyn Greenblade. Josylyn Greenblade fashions a grip out of the pristine forest drakeling scales, fastens the arborean amber to the pommel of the weapon, and polishes the blade with a luminescent substance. 'Here is your new weapon, brave Emerald Warrior. May it serve you well.' Your faction standing with Emerald Warriors has been adjusted by 5. Your faction standing with Indigo Brotherhood could not possibly get any worse. Your faction standing with Merchants of Felwithe has been adjusted by 1. I did the quest for the newbie wood elf warrior armor and about went mad. But in the end it is well worth it. If not for the stats then for the pride.
Just don't make the mistake I did. I have done every woodelf class newbie armor so I thought the amber was a normal one. The other quests took items like a botttle or cask, so amber bought from a vendor didn't seem strange. But the want dropped amber from Mature Arboreans. I had to do the quest twice.
Mature Arboreans and Saplings seem to move about close to the CB zone. I have seen them as far as the BBM zone on occasions. The arsonist spawns close to some fallen trees by the zone wall. Facing out from CB zone area just head left. You'll find them eventually, and if the are blue or higher con they will have a large aggro radius.
As for sharpening the sword, the closest vendor of sharpening stones I've found is Kaladim <aka Dwarf City>. They are sold in the mines beside the rogues guild.
Pristine Forest Drakeling scales are just a matter of luck.
So to sumerize, you need the sharpened sword, a pristine Forest Drakeling scale, and a Arborean Amber for this quest.
Your prize is a nice Lammy lookin sword.

I was wondering around and found the orc dude and killed him i got the torch on the first kill

After camping this guy for around 6 hours he finally dropped his torch. What sucks about this guy is he is on a 1 hour timer and the torch is extremely rare, so good luck everyone!

I've been doing the Emerald Novice quests, and have found his spawn spot to be up north, west of Crushbone, between two trees, where the fallen trees lie. This same spot also spawns another named orc, which drops some silver leafed necklace (no rop). It's basicly almost the corner of the zone.

I was wandering around Gfay doing the new ranger armor quest for fun. I hit track and saw this guy. Decided to kill him, dropped a torch. Destryed it because it posed to me of no use to me.

Has anyone seen the orc arsonist drop a torch? I've killed him dozens of times now and I have never seen him drop anything. It seems like a problem :).
