You say, 'Hail, Sarialiyn Tranquilsong'

Sarialiyn Tranquilsong says 'Pleased to meet you. I am Sarialiyn Tranquilsong, Virtuoso of the Songweavers Kelethin division. I have spent all of my years here in Kelethin training our new recruits to ensure that all are ready to defend themselves once their adventures take them away from the Faydark and beyond. If you are a [young bard of Kelethin] then I might have some exercises for you to complete.'

You say, 'I am a young bard of Kelethin.'

Sarialiyn Tranquilsong says 'Well then you surely must be interested in some of the [training exercises] I have created for all young members of the Songweavers bard guild.'

You say, 'What training exercises?'

Sarialiyn Tranquilsong says 'The training exercises that I speak of are very important in the development of a young bards core abilities. You will have to rely on all of your skills including hunting and gathering to complete these tests but in the end you will be rewarded with a full set of your own armor that you will craft by your own hand. Are you ready to [begin the exercises]?'

You say, 'I am ready to begin the exercises.'

Sarialiyn Tranquilsong says 'Fantastic ______, here is your Melodic Assembly Kit. In this kit you will collect various items from all over the Faydark, Clan Crushbone and in our hometown of Kelethin. You will then combine these items in certain quantities inside your Assembly Kit to create armor materials, which are then placed in a forge with the applicable mold to yield your armor piece. As I provided you with your assembly kit, I can also provide you with the armor molds for Tranquilsong [Helms], [Bracers], [Armguards], [Boots], [Greaves], [Gauntlets] and [Breastplates]. All you must do is simply tell me what armor piece you [want] to craft, and I shall give you the appropriate mold and material recipe.'

You say, 'I want to craft a breastplate.'

Sarialiyn Tranquilsong says 'To create your breastplate material you will need to combine 5 Bricks of Crude Bronze, 1 Orc Fibula, 1 Pristine Forest Drakeling Scale, 1 Golden Bandit Tooth, 1 Orc Eye and 1 Orc Ribcage in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a forge along with this mold to fashion your very own Breastplate of the Tranquilsong. Once you have completed your armor set please return to me for I have one final exercise for you to complete.'

As marked in the post below mine (go read :P) a lot of people are having troubles getting an Orc Fibula. Orc Fibula's are comming drops(with a bit of luck) of ORC SLAVERS. The post below mentions a small house near the slavers pit, but in the house is an orc slaver. Every orc slaver in CB has the same change on dropping an orc fibula. The rest of the bones can be found on any orc, hope this helps you lot a little.

Well, it seems people are having trouble finding the orc fibula's, and I did too at first. It turns out, from my experience anyway, that only one of the orc slavers drops this piece. Near the slaver caves there is a small house. If you go in that house, immediately to your left is a slaver at a writing desk or shelf or something. He seems to be lower level than the other slavers, and is pretty much by himself, making him much easier to kill at the level you are expected to do this quest. Both times I got the orc fibula to drop, it was from this particular slaver. Seems to drop about half the time off of him.

In front of the same house is a small round building with a bonfire burning in it. The Orc Scoutsman spawns inside this smaller building, and he is the one that drops Sarialyin's Lute for the follow up quest to the Bard newbie armor quests.

Thank you for this bit of info. I have been going crazy looking for one more stupid Fibula. O got one for the other armor piece, but decided to hold off on the BP because I already had a Netherbian Chitin BP which was serving me well. I will head down there now with this info and look for the slaver, and will go after the Scoutsman as well while I'm there. I already have the two orc jawbones for that.. Thanks again.

My hubby is a lvl11 Bard and he's been trying forever to get the fibulas. He needs 2 of em for the newbie Bard armor Quest. I had to get on with my Beastlord and grp with a higher lvl player and wipe out all the slavers, only got 2 ribcages, but no fibulas. I thought he might have wrote the material list wrong so I went back to his quild to find out and nope he was right. So I then went back to CB and killed everything that I could and still NO FIBULAS. What the heck? It seems to me that if you are on a quest for a certain item, you can never find it. But when you are a different character and not looking for any items, you will find everything under the sun. The only problem is they are no drops so you can't loot and give to other people to help them out. That and you can't give anything to a character on a different server than you. boy i wish we could!

But I know a lot about the bard quest and gfay and cb. So I've been helping newbies out more than I've been playing my own character. LOL.

Indeed it seems to go that way. Me (Barbarian Shaman) and my friend (Barbarian Warrior) walked into Crushbone, hoping to gain some experience and develop a few new pull strategies. Unfortunately the zone was so congested all we could find was the slaver camp, and even that camp was not respected. /sigh Anyway, we killed 3 trainers and 2 of them had these fibulas... I think one rotted and upon the 4th pull, yep, another bone – useless to us, but a young bard was happy when I told her about it.

Had I known they were so rare I would have given a shout to anyone who needed them. As a side note, we ended up leaving the zone. One was it had too many people, and the other was most of the orcs now have no-drop items, making them much less valuable for those who cannot quest these items. Man, have things changed in two years of vacation.

Word,

I have been camping the slavers for 3 days now about 2 hours at a time and have yet to see a fibula drop. These are the only things I need to finish my armor quests. Just to make sure the fibula is not the same as the "foot bones" is it?

One night after about 6 1/2 hours of camping slavers and the like. i decided what the heck and cleared the entire zone 3 times no fibula... so i /petitioned and informed the gm that there might be an issue about how rare the drop is and my conserns about newbs losing interest in the quests due to this... i then /reported it after my conversation with the GM.
The next day i loged on with me bard and within 5 minutes had my first fibula off the Warden. thats how i got me legings. then about 15 minutes later i got another one the same way by login on me sk and killing the warden again. he droped the fibula so i loged on me bard to loot. got me BP the full suit looks nice i just wish the weapon had a better graphic than the A_LONGSWORD1 graphic

I've found slavers to be the best choice when looking for ribcages, fibulas, or jawbones. I think I've also found ribcages on legionnaires, but don't quote me on that one. Finally, the Scoutsman and Warden both can drop just about any bone you might want.

This quest (and the other newbie armor quests in gfay) pretty much elminate the need to twink, well atleast for armor. Those Pristine Forest Drakling scales are very rare. It's always good to give any char that you plan to do the newbie armor quests with atleast 60-100pp.

Tranquilsong Platemail Breastplate

the quest is well worth it for any untwinked bard imo

The crude bronze comes off of orcs in CB, anything centurion or higher, entrance to cb can be camped by a pair around level 6 (just watch for those trains!)

The orc fibula is a rare drop off of the orc slavers, while you are here try to pickup another fibula if you don't have your greaves yet, and two fractured jawbones, you will need them for your final task

The golden bandit tooth can be found at the bandit camp north of the wiz spires in Gfay, bandits are roughly level 8 as far as i could tell, tooth is not no drop

The orc eye comes off of centurions in CB, that's all i have seen it drop from but they drop it quite commonly

The orc ribcage i have heard drops off lego's and emissarys most commonly, i got mine off of the orc warden a rare spawn in the slave caves, also saw one on the orc scoutsman (you need to kill him for your final exercise too, just take his lute) and i saw one drop off a centurion as well, although i assume it is a very rare drop on them

The pristine drakeling scale is a rare drop off of forest drakelings, i seem to find most of them near the felwithe ent or near bbm zone slightly off the path, if you have a little money and someone is auctioning this it may be a good idea to buy it, i bought one for 8pp i had made from selling drops and a stack of batwings.

With some very good luck, and some help from friends in thier low teens i was able to get this on my untwinked bard at level 8, good luck!

After several hours over the past two days I picked this up finally. Being a bard on a server full of twink bards realy makes me appreciate something like this since it is the same as the Faydark Ringmail Coat and has STR, not to mention it is sharp looking. Here are a few tips for getting this.

Crude Bronze Ore: random orcs in crushbone.

Orc Fibula: Rare drop off of orc slavers.

Orc Eye: random orcs in both Gfay and Crushbone.

Orc Ribcage: legos in Crushbone.

Golden Bandit Tooth: Got mine from the 3 bandits to the north of the Spires in Gfay.

Pristine Forest Drakeling Scale: Best place I found was just west of the entrance to Felwithe. Make a wide circle around the hill just beyond the road there and kill everything that moves. It's a rare drop and I know the a high elf cleric said they needed it for their armor as well.

Orc Fibula is uncommon drop.

Pristine scale is needed for ALL newbie chest piece quest, it seems. Really, the ones I looked at even wanted the ribcage and the tooth.

The ribcage seemed to drop only from the emperor and lord darish

If you don't feel like ruining your Bristlebane faction.. if you ever do travel to PoM.. I suggest killing the Bandits and Raiders in the Karana's. Not that hard to get there, and lots more of them.
