Visit Ulraz S`Lon in the Lodge of the Dead, Neriak 3rd Quarter. He is one of the Shadow Knight guildmasters in the center room on the first floor of the building, this is in the room your newly created character appeared in and he is listed in the find function.

NOTE: You only need to do this part if you need a Mail Assembly Kit container. If you have the container from a previous combine, you can skip straight to Krivn S`Tai.

You say, 'Hail, Ulraz S`Lon'

Ulraz S`Lon says 'So you are the next pathetic maggot I have the displeasure of training to be a useful Shadowknight of the Lodge of the Dead. First you must get yourself outfitted in a suit of [armor], those rags you wear can not even contain the stench of your miserable hide and will do no good protecting it from the edge of an enemies blade. '

You say, 'what armor?'

Ulraz S`Lon says 'Seek Krivn S'Tai in the Commoner quarter of Neriak and give him this request parchment. Krivn S'Tai has been paid in advance by the Lodge of the Dead for the requested service. Simply give him the request parchment and he will instruct you further. When you have outfitted yourself in a suit of armor return to the Lodge of the Dead and I will grant you [another task].'

Take the Parchment he gives you to Krivn S`Tai in the Blue Flame in Neriak Commons (65, -885, -40, he is listed on find as an armor merchant).

When you hand him the note:

Krivn S`Tai says 'So you are one of Ulraz's new recruits. You are to assist in the construction of the armor you will don as a new Shadowknight of the Lodge of the Dead. I have assembled a kit that is used in the crafting of Bone Mail. You must travel beyond Neriak into the Nektulos Forest for the [materials] that compose the armor.'

You receive an 8-slot container called a Mail Assembly Kit.

You say, 'What materials?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'Many species of dangerous creatures and even the walking remains of the dead inhabit the Nektulos Forest. You must defeat these creatures and undead in order to obtain the materials. The materials you seek depend on the piece of armor you desire. Do you desire to craft [gloves], [boots], a [bracer], a [coif], [leggings], [sleeves], or a [tunic]?'

You say, 'Tell me about the leggings'

Krivn S`Tai says 'To craft Bone Mail Leggings you require three [silk thread], a low quality wolf pelt, two calcified tibia, and a calcified pelvis. Once you have the necessary components combine them in your Bone Mail Kit with this Tattered Leggings Pattern. '

You receive a Tattered Leggings Pattern.

You say, 'Where does silk thread come from?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'Silk Thread is sewn by a tailor using a [sewing kit] or a community [loom]. Two spiderling silks combined in the sewing kit or loom will create one silk thread.'

You say, 'What is a sewing kit?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'A sewing kit may be purchased at the Furrier Royale in Neriaks Third Quarter or at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter. A community loom may be found at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter.'

You say, 'And where would I find a loom?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'A sewing kit may be purchased at the Furrier Royale in Neriaks Third Quarter or at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter. A community loom may be found at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter.'

Gather the items and armor pattern, then combine in the Mail Assembly Kit.

NOTE: The container isn't consumed in the combine, so you can keep it for other armor pieces.

-two calcified foot bones

Bone Mail Bracer:
-a silk thread
-a ruined wolf pelt
-a calcified ulna bone

Bone Mail Helm:

-a ruined wolf pelt
-a calcified skull

Bone Mail Gloves:
-two silk thread
-a ruined wolf pelt
-two calcified finger bones

Bone Mail Leggings:
-three silk thread
-a low quality wolf pelt
-two calcified tibia
-a calcified pelvis

Bone Mail Sleeves:
-two silk thread
-a low quality wolf pelt
-two calcified humerus bones

Bone Mail Tunic:
-four silk thread

And if you are feeling masochistic, you can try these as well:

The drop rates on these things are ridiculous. After waiting and waiting for the calcifieds to finally start spawning, they barely ever drop the bones you need. The spawn rate is so low on them, they should drop peices at least 1/3 of the time. All the while they expect players from level 1-10 to run around in an area filled with zombies, rotting citizens and all the decaying politicians training after them. So far, these are the most frustrating newb items to collect that I've ever seen.

The drop rate on this is just . . . stunning. I have everything but the pelvis, and if this armor did not look so cool, I would just forget about. *sigh* Back to the ultricle mines.
The PELTS
# Dec 25 2002 at 1:33 PM Rating: Decent
I just wanted to point out that for the leggings you need 1 LQ wolf PELT (well thats what the npc is saying) Yesterday after hours of hunting for a Low Quality Wolf PELT I decided to try a Low Quality Wolf SKIN, guess what? BINGO!!!! it worked...no where in the game have I seen a Lq wolf PELT, but I have seen many a LQ wolf Skin...so for those of you haveing this delema about the Pelt, its a SKIN a LQ wolf skin - I would also gather that the MQ for the BP is also a SKIN and not a pelt... GL fellow SK's and may your hunt's be good ones.

After several hours of camping the monolith near EC, I can safely say the calcified bones will drop from the calcified skellies and the greater. I had a friend camping the other side of the zone for quite a while too, to help me get the pieces. Only 2 pieces dropped and they came from greaters as well.
I've gotten all the bones except the pelvis and the sternum. I hope they drop soon. As a bonus, I have looted enough bone chips to fill 3 backpacks, so if any necros or SKs need any bones, chances are I can supply them. :)

They should incerase the drop rates. I got 1 tibia of a greater skelly after 1.5 hours of camping, lol. Ridiculous. IMO the drops are too rare for newbie quests. I say, as a newbie, if you put the time and effort in killing, you should be rewarded with the drops every single time. Its not like these are fantastic pieces or anything. I would be extremely frustrated as a newb trying to collect all these things. Especially when these days, you can go get something better in the bazaar in about 1/1000th of the time.

I think the Low Quality pelts are found more often on the Black Wolf than Shadow, although I believe that they both drop them.

However, I think that it's better to say you want to buy them and give a few gold pieces to a newbie who maybe just stumbled across them and would just sell them in Neriak or somewhere anyway. That way you both get a good deal; they get more cash from you than a merchant, and you get a wolf pelt without having to search and waste time not getting XP.

Man, how nice am I? :)
Calcified Tibias
# Jun 16 2002 at 11:11 AM Rating: Decent
Calcified Tibias ALSO drop off decaying
councilman, that's where I got my last one.
No luck on the calcified pelvis yet, though.
Only piece I need, along with 1 silk thread.

No, they are not the same. Pelts come in the following levels of quality, worst to best:
Ruined
Low Quality
Medium Quality
High Quality
Needless to say, Ruined pelts are the most common.

I got all the pieces of the suit except the leggings. I got all the bones except one tibia. I spent 24 hours of playing time getting the items. Me and 2 other shadow knights camped, the wizzy spires, the ec zone line and the circle by lava storm. When one of us got a drop the other didn't have we would tell each other and run over their and get it. After everything was said and done. The most elusive bone was the calcified tibias. Over 50 hours of combined camping and only 2 tibias dropped, one for me and one for the other shadow knight. The third shadow knight missed out on alot of the bones because she kept logging in and out. The armor looks sweet, the stats are good, and it's really light. After all the one stayed there for the bones. I left and gained 4 lvls. I came back and she had gained one lvl. Its a matter of priorities, how much time do you have and how bad do you want it.

Every time I try to find a greater skeleton they aren't there, so i decide to start fighting to gain experience. While I'm fighting something else a greater skeleton spawns and I can't kill it because i only have about 40% health. I'm so pissed off

Calcified Pelvis&Tibia

I got these reletively quickly at the Undead Monolith near the EC zone. The skels there have also dropped a piece for the shield and calcified finger bones.

Calcified Pelvis
# Mar 23 2002 at 11:21 PM Rating: Decent
Just curious. Has anyone found a calcified Pelvis? I have one calcified Tibia, but no luck on the pelvis.
Leggings are the only piece of the armor that I still need. Althought the AC is a little low, lower than banded, the stat boosts and the look are pretty nice.

Just wondering where you got the other calcified peices. I have yet to see a pelvis or tibia. I did find a sternum last night. But no ribcage either. What dropped the ribcage and tibia? I got the sternum from a greater skeleton.

Any help would be great

I got a pelvis off a Greater Skeleton. After almost 40 hours invested in the Bone Mail quests (Unfortunately, my time is limited to approximately 2 to 3 hours per night), I have yet to see any tibia's. And I did get the ribcage off the Greater Skeletons also.

I know I took the one tibia I have off of a greater skeleton, I'm pretty sure I got the ribcage off of a greater skelly too, but I'm not quite sure. I've found all my pieces by hunting near the Ultricle in the northwest corner of Nektulos.
