Forged Firebrand Weapons  

I like to update these after I do them because I came from EQ Frontiers that used to be on PS2 which was based 400 years in the past to all this older content of the PC version and I liked all those quest and I get bored of Cresent Reach and also for the new players to this EQ who wanna try old content,,, so I came to Lavastorm to do this quest because I like the older hard quest at low levels I came here at Level 12 as a Paladin Half Elf with a Tank Merc, and I spent 3 days almost day and night trying to get the items to make a couple weapons I did end up making a Mace as your reward is random and I wanted to make the 1 hand sword or maybe get the Halbred but it seems getting the Fire Imps to spawn is impossible. The Fire Drakes and Fire Imps spawn by the camp where you turn the items in in the South West part of the Zone and Fire Elementals sometimes path in the south west area but mostly can be found in the south east part of the zone or near the zone entrance to Nek Forest. I was able to get several Fiery Ore and Essence of Fire fine from the Drakes and Elementals but getting the Imps to spawn is a pain in the butt I killed all sorts of other mobs trying to get them to spawn but nope and also just as a side note if you come at level 12 even with defiant gear on the Imps can kill you and can agro from a far distance and will also get other mobs to come after you while fighting them I had to use Lay Hands with my Paladin to save me once at level 13 their Fire Shield is strong at low level and can kill you if you got a couple of them on you you want to pull the agro mobs to the side by the camp to be safe the Spiders the Elementals and the Imps are agro enemy the drakes are neutral but you can agro more drakes fighting one to close to other ones so it's best to just pull them back to the camp or side of the zone out of path ranges of other enemy,,, Good Hunting new players old players or returning players sometimes it's about the difficulty and not just speed leveling even if the weapon or armor isn't as good as the defiant gear it's still fun to see if you can complete one of the old quest,,

Been killin drakes for 3 hours. Finally scrolled down posts and found out the Essence does not drop on drakes. FIRE ELEMENTALS!!!

On Another note....been looking for Greater Lavaspinners. Can't find'em. Where do they hang out??

The Essence of Fire is not found on the fire drakes as stated, but found on fire elementals.

Look on eqtrader for the recipes.

I've got all the ingredients but I've never seen the NPC on Nameless. Oh well. I'll hold on to them and check back to see if anyone spots him.

As of 5/23/02 on test this NPC no longer spawns and I was not able to find any of the quest items in the zone while farming poison ingredients off the same mobs. This is probably a legends quest or one they just decided not to impliment on live servers as some of the quests on test never go live. FYI those stats are comparable to fine steel, not rusty and with the +2 fire damage that actually makes them better, nice for the level to attain; too bad they didn't impliment this quest live, would have been a good one and may have actually brought some of the lowbies out of oasis for experience...

is he KoS to evil races?

This came from the Test Server. I was there when the guy got the weapon, and he said he was submitting it to AllaKhazam's. So, it may not be on live servers yet (or ever).

I received a 7/36 +2 fire dmg mace when I did it the first time, and a 5/24 +1 fire dmg scimitar when I did it the second time. The scimitar looks really nice, I should note.

If anyone has seen this NPC please say what server you are on. He isnt there on Firionia Vie

This is an awesome quest, the 2+fire damage is useless in Lavastorm, but great weapon for players in thier teens who don't have any money.

Good to see they haven't forgot about the low level & new players.
