Does gant's remains still drop. Or the NPC still give out the quest. Would like to do the quest but not if it is broken right now.

yes the quest still works. bryce is in the small building way over by the me building, when i went there i could target him but not see him so i had to cast snare to make him come out of his lil hiding spot. really isnt a bad 2h for a low lvl toon

if you are questing you are probably trying to get a certain item or working on something. Killing the main mob IS NOT inconciderate! if you are farming...FARMING!!!! Then what are you doing? Spending time killing something that is easy for you to kill to get items and getting items to make money or just for making items. Chances (I mean chances and not most definately) are you have more time on your hand, since you are skilling and doing something like tailoring, becuase you are bored and not after an quicker obtainable object. Plus how hard it it to get someone to run back there invised and kill that stupid trible? Its not! Simply ask and see if someone who is questing if they will reset the zone. People on here take this **** to damn seriously, it a lil game which ya pay for and you shouldnt get mad or upset or even on the offensive for someone killing a mob. Maybe for some being a lil **** is what they come and play for, was lots of them fools on Rallos Zek. They lived to stab ya in the back. Oh yeh and have yall snoody folks ever heard of SHARING. I didnt make the points I wanted to make, but be nice and share, because this game is not going anywhere and there is plenty of stuff to do. I am sorry to post this in a forum that should be providing quest information, but I have never seen a thread quite like this and I need someone to politely straighten me out if I'm perceiving this incorrectly. I'm still pretty new, so help me understand this. People are saying it is inconsiderate to kill a quest mob while people are farming hides. How is that inconsiderate?
I have been to zones where I could get xp and/or quest items, but have been unable to do so because of people farming the camps. It's no big deal, I can always come back later. However I always thought it was inconsiderate of the farmers to deny people who are of the appropriate level range access to a camp.
And here, I am seeing people actually get pissed off because someone is killing a mob they need to kill to complete a quest? This makes absolutely no sense to me. Are people really so petty and shallow to train the zone because someone is actually playing the game!?

To even use the phrase "Please try to be considerate of the others..." in a post about intentionally training other players is absurd. I just don't understand the logic. I'm not trying to offend anyone (except those who would retaliate like that against a quester. ***** you guys). I just want to understand how quests can be inconsiderate to farmers. I agree that training someone is petty and not just inconsiderate, but offensive. However, you seem to think that "farming" rockhopper hides is somehow tied to profit. I only wish it were so. In fact, the hopper hides are needed to craft acrylia studded and reinforced armour, which is one of the very few ways of grand-mastering Tailoring for many of us who do not have access to useful cultural tailoring or lots of money. As the superb and flawless hides are not exactly common, and it takes up to ten hides to get one skill point, it takes a staggering amount of rockhoppers to get to grand master. Some of these pieces do sell for up to maybe 500 or so, but crafting those would be a very inefficient use of acrylia (which is at least as tedious to collect as the hides). The pieces that require the least amount of resources sell for so little it's not worth the bother to try to sell them.
Personally, I have nothing against someone killing the age-old rockhopper for the quest, but it would be nice if /s/he stayed around to kill the sambata chief too.

Finally actually did this turn-in today. Had Gant's Remains in my bank forever after getting Age Old one afternoon. Apparently I was lucky, he dropped it without me ever killing him before. Never knew what the remains were for, but was cleaning out my bank and decided to look it up.
Finding Bryce McFadden was another story entirely. I had him on tracking, tracked him to one of the old buildings, but couldnt see him! I was even able to /target him, but he wouldnt respond to hails, so, I snared him. That brought him out of hiding. Then I Egressed, came back, and did the turn in. A VERY easy little quest in my opinion. Just gotta figure out how much the sword sells for, Allakhazam's list price seems a bit much.

anyone know if theres a level restriction on this quest....i talked to the NPC to start it but some *** was trying to talk me out of killing age old cause he was farming hides....and said that AOR didnt drop anything and that the thing i was looking for dropped off an ancient rockhopper and there was a level restriction...so i dont know if the guy was yankin my chain or what....

ive killed age old 25-30 times, hasnt dropped it yet. he definately does drop it though, so its pretty rare. and yeah, its very inconsiderate to kill age old while people are farming hides.
Dropped today when I KSd some mage who was about to despawn my rockhoppers. 7200dmg HT > all

Personal i would have reported on your dark necro a$%. KSing someone because they are questing for an item. Think if you were doing your 8th shawl quest and somebody kills the general. Sounds like fun to me.

The galorian bone fragments WILL NOT work with this quest. I just tried it a few seconds ago.

I searched through my logs and found this info:
1. I killed more then 250 Rockhoppers
2. I got 10 "a Galorian Bone Fragments"
3. I NEVER killed an age old rockhopper
4. 7 of those 10 loots I made after killing
"A Rockhopper " (mind the space after the name, its not a typo)

Hi,
just went and did this quest in DS. was not that hard. When i got there the Tribal Grunts up so i went inside and pulled the leader. Was a long tedious battle you cant snare or slow him in any way so i dotted ran FD and repeated that about 10 times till he dropped. There was no old or ancient rockhopper up but there was a PESTULANT rockhopper in the spawn to the right of where the chief had been. I pulled this thinking WTF. He went down alot easier than the chief Grunt and dropped the remains for me. All together it took me 30 minutes to complete this and I never even summoned a pet.

This guy was blue to a 56 druid, he does not see invis, and he is immune to changes in his run speed. What this means is no ensnaring, no rooting, and no using druid epic on this mob. I also tried to use harmony to pull his buddies around him to clear out the cave but got a message that the mobs were immune to the spell.

OMG it never ceases to surprise me st the beginning of 99.9 % of discussions is a questin wat is this i found ? and as is alwasy the post turns into a brag fest of unrelated opinion the only thing i seen made sence to the main questins in thread is the Flesh to bone spell.
