Kanthek Ogrebane is located at approximately neg 882, pos 1340 in Dawnshroud Peaks.
You say, 'Hail, Kanthek Ogrebane' Kanthek Ogrebane says 'Hello there. Welcome my friend! Please sit and rest yourself. There are many [predators] around. I suggest you rest a bit before continuing your journey.' You say, 'What predators?' Kanthek Ogrebane says 'Just take a look around and see what's around you. There's [galorians], [lightcrawlers], [zelniaks], and [rockhoppers] everywhere. They usually let us be, but I've seen 'em kill. It's not something you want to see.' You say, 'What lightcrawlers?' Kanthek Ogrebane says 'Lightcrawlers are the biggest bugs I've ever seen. I've heard of bigger, but I've never seen 'em myself. If you're interested in getting some [armor] made out of their shells let me know and I'll see if we can work something out.' You say, 'What armor?' Kanthek Ogrebane says 'My cousin can make you some armor, but it'll cost ya. What exactly are you looking for? You looking for a [breastplate], [greaves], [helm], [bracers], [arms]? You tell me and I'll see what I can do. The only problem is I only have enough material to make a small set. So you might not be able to fit in 'em.' You say, 'What breastplate?' Kanthek Ogrebane says 'Faber Rugon can make a fine breastplate for you, but it'll require two Pristine Lightcrawler Shells.' You say, 'What greaves?' Kanthek Ogrebane says 'Give Faber Rugon back two sets of Lightcrawler Legs and two Shimmering Lightcrawler Shells.' You say, 'What helm?' Kanthek Ogrebane says 'Interested in a new helm, eh? Alright. Bring Faber Rugon two Ardent Lightcrawler Shells and he'll be able to help you out.' You say, 'What bracers?' Kanthek Ogrebane says 'Faber Rugon can only make one bracer for you, but one will be enough. Bring him back two Stripped Lightcrawler Shells and you'll be set.' You say, 'What arms?' Kanthek Ogrebane says 'Alright. Bring my cousin, Faber Rugon, back two Spotted Lightcrawler Shell and he'll be able fashion up a fine pair of arms for you.' Does anyone else find it strange that there is no mention of boots for the armor? maybe halflings protested?
Dwarf Berzerkers (sp?) can use this too.
Be very careful if you worship a dark deity and are trying to do this quest. Sanctus Seru is a 'light' city and you will die quickly if you are dark and try to get in without factioning up first. Even if you are normally race/class accepted, your choice of deity can still get you killed. Gnome Shadowknights will have an especially hard time of it as they are both class/deity penalized. There are like 5 or 6 factions inside that you will have to build up so it is a pain. If you are dark, you might be better off to buy gear in bazaar than trying this quest.

Heh, I should've read this comment first! (Gonna give it a bump.) I /conned the guards outside the city gates in DSP, and they were merely dubious to my dark elf SK and cleric. So we decided to try zoning in. One of the guards near the zone-in aggroed on us before we'd even finished zoning!
So if you're not sure where you stand with the various factions in there, be sure to go invis at first and be prepared to zone back out if they're KOS when you drop the invis.

Ok I got cheated.
I gave the guy the stuff to get the whole set or LC armor. He said take this helm, take this bracer, etc, but I only got a breastplate and greaves. WTF??? He said take the stuff but didnt give??
Anyone know why?

I love lightcrawler armor! Ive got every piece 'cept the bracer. Though I only use the greaves and vambraces. I use the other pieces for show. These are great for rogues. I look so cool with them on while having gnome models turned on.

Are all the lightcrawlers around the same level or are their ones that are slightly lower, but do they not drop the pieces as fast. Or what? Can anybody shed light on this?

Faber Rugon is in Sanctus Seru in building SW of pool at entrance (bldg 4 on EQ Atlas Map)

The Lightcrawlers are varied in level. At 33 I hunt them, and some are light blue. The rest are dark blue.
To my observation, level has nothing to do with the shell they drop. It's random.

a great place to find light crawlers without running around all over the place is near the sanctus seru zone, loads of them there all the time.
What level are the lightcrawlers? And can a 35 warrior solo them?
There are a number of the lightcrawlers that will still con dk blue to you at lvl 36. With many at lt blue and green. I would not agree that butter is the way to describe them but maybe a block of ice. Keep working on them and eventually you will chip them down to nothing. As a half-elf I have ~1250hp and ~155str (sorry can't remember my AC) un-buffed and I was able to do 6 or 7 of them until I needed to sit an heal (or donate for a heal). I have a Centi-LS and a whip which proc's choke. A great team for these is to hook up with a Druid.
The hardest shell to get is the Stripped one. Took about 2 days to get two, with one coming from a kind guild mate. And I found that for the leggings I only needed one Shimmering shell, not two.
I have completed all 5 items now and was able to sell the whole set for 1500pp on Ayonne Ro server. And I have enough for 4 of the 5 sitting in the bank.

They're level 24 to 27. My little 33 beastlord in leather armor can beat them without taking much damage, so for a 35 warrior you'll go through them like butter.
I wonder if there's a family resemblence with Kanthuk of the Ghoulbane quest.

i was try right next to ss ent but every time i looted there is nothing on the light crawllers
Can they wear the lightcrawler armor? This green plate would look sweet on a ranger.

As it stands now Halfling Rangers cannot equip Lightcrawler gear. This is puzzling since Rogues, also a chain-wearing class, can. Halfling Rangers were added as a new race class combination at the same time Gnome Shadowknights were, yet the latter can equip the gear. (No other short race can be Rangers or Shadowknights.) I even went to he EQ Live message boards to see if I could find more information on this, but I could find no reference to this on any of the forums. I am thinking about submitting the question to the developers. If I do, I'll post any response I get here.

I collected a full set of lightcrawler, and created a new little Gnomish rogue and decked her all out. Love the look, and the shades are cool, lol.

I have collected all the pieces, but I'm an Iksar SK. What faction do you need to be to get into Sanctus Seru to get to this Faber guy? Any ideas? What characters are you all who have completed it?

If yur evil Hunt the humans in Marus seru. You'll have to kil quite a few to be able to get into SS.
Then when you are in a uba guild u can go back and kill them for loot )

i suggest approaching the sanctus seru zone in dawshroud. there are two "Hand of Seru" outside the zone. in all likelyhood, if you arent KOS to them you wont be KOS in sanctus. the few exceptions might be, bars (not neccesarilly KOS, but most people are indifferent in half the bars and apprehensive in the others); "defender of <insert name here cause i forget>", who are on rallos zek faction. as a genral rule of thumb, if you arent KOS to the "Hands" you wont be KOS in sanctus, but you should be careful of the exceptions and keep a watchful eye for them.
Umm Ok if your not Kos to thoes guards in DS, you will still be KOS in SS. My Dark elf enchantress friend found that out last night. And just so you know Aggro is LOS. (I believe ;)
I'm a Dark Elf wizard. And I'm not kos to the guards outside SS.. But am very much so kos to the guards inside Santus Seru.. By killing Ruseco in Marus Seru. You can up your Seru Faction.. Haven't work on it much but planning on it..

Were is the guy to startthe quest?
He's in a ring of NPCs next to a campfire. If you are at the Marus Seru entrance, hang a right and follow the zone wall until you see the camp not far away. Beware of the lightcrawlers in this area which attack on sight.
