Did they get rid of the languages on scrolls and such and make them all readable in common tongue? I have several of these scrolls along with several from the Tesch Val gnolls and I do not speak either elder Teir'dal or gnollish and yet I can read the scrolls with my language set to common. I remember trying to read the Tesch Val scrolls a long time ago and they were all garbled because I didn't know the language. Does anyone know if and when this was changed?

you people are sad.... so very vad. Think about it from a game programing view. what? they are going to make a 7 slot container? what is wrong with you people? The quest asks for 7 scrolls, people here are talking about how turning in 7 combined scrolls yielded 20-50p a turn in. Why do you people insist on adding confusion and making it more difficult. Yea, its an odd number... so what. your all brainwashed.

Anytime I do a quest, I read the quest, npc, details of level. so on. I actually click the links for the items, I dont post asking what it is, and if I cant find a mob, I click on that mobs name and read.

you people insist on making it more difficult and confusing then ever before. I take what I read fairly lightly. Its honestly a wonder any of you have ever completed a quest.

to all who post valid info and questions thats cool.

I have seen people ask the stats on a weapon *ON* the stats page, with the picture and stats, a screenshot. I see people ask who they turn it into... and so on. do you people not SEE the quest up top? do you just scroll past that? Related creatures, faction, items, reward... its 7 scrolls. 7!!! thats it. take that 8th empty slot and find a creative place to shove it ok?

your the same people that call me for tech support that cant read more then two words at a time. READ, learn, explore. really its ok. the next time I see some **** about the kobald emmasary in this post I will kill you all. ok?

and you know, on a side note... (not a rant) I originally was reading about all this because of the warrens. my rogue is about the right lvl for this stuff. I have to say, as far as old world, these quests rock. Especially for the Eradite paladins. I mean, very unique items and 22-25ish some killer quests and items are obtainable. between this and muglewump. I mean, at far as oldworld, these are sick. You could easily get a EUR/PAL up to 30ish in no time in this area. I am reather impressed. too bad they are not that great.

In their defense, sometimes you've gotta check the dates on a post. A lot of times, someone will post asking about an item before the item has been added to allakhazam. Similarly, you'll see posts under a mob info page saying "also drops xxx", when xxx is clearly shown and linked under the mob's loot section. In my experience, it's usually easier to just read a page than wait for someone to respond. However, there are instances where there is more to a quest than it seems. There's a quest in SH where you do a bunch of turn ins, the mob walks to the bank and takes a ring out, then decides not to give it to you.... you've gotta kill him for the ring (maybe its' not a ring.. you get the idea). Kill him before the quest, and the item isn't on him. I like the idea that people are pushing their assumptions.

Yeah yeah yeah. Everyone's SOOOO stupid compared to you. I see a lot of that same stuff in posts, and it's obvious to me that some posters can't see two inches in front of their nose. But guess what? I just skip over it and go to the next one. Yyour BS rant is as much of a waste of time and space as theirs; possibly more, cause at least they aren't purposely trying to be negative. i wonder if you are the same person in tech support who when asked a question that you can't answer. instead of admitting that you don't know and taking details so you can find out, suddenly whooops session ended <HOW convenient> this happens time after time after time if you ask easy questions no problem with connection anything remotely difficult an sudddenly it's 'your session has ended'

EQ has the worst Customer care of any kind i have ever come across in a company. Tech support being the worst of the lot so before you start flaming people take a close look at yourself Valdon.

I kind of have to agree with him. I dont really rant but it I was readint the posts, and it was said time and time again that the missionary is not part of the quest. Yet people continue to say they are killing him for the last scroll. Just read the quest info, and do it. If the quest had something to do with the missinary's scroll, it would say.

This quest is pretty great, if you need faction for either side of Paineel or Erudin! Basically you go on a rampage killing all sorts of Kobalds, then go kill the king for his loot if you can, and the faction hit, goto the room next to him for an easy fight with the guy that drops these scrolls, and then go back to the begining of the zone and kill the respawned kobalds. Just keep going in circles checking your faction with the guards outside the warrens when you get bored or take a try at The Mug tadpole guy, (LvL25) stupid guy always gets me with slow at the start of the fight. Hard to solo when you have slow. I think it stacks too. But not 100% sure. But anyhow yeah, great if your gunna be killing kobalds anyhow. And who wouldn't want the free PP? By the time you get the quest done the first time, since the scrolls aren't lore, you'll probably have a lot of extras so doing it again wouldn't be very hard?

Sorry, forgot to update this for so long...

There ARE only 7 scrolls, and the reward is quite nice plat, around 20pp per completion for me.

The Lorekeeper is to the right of the king in a little side room, and he is reluctant to give up several scrolls, so be prepared for duplicates.

Still don't know what to do with the kobold missionary's scroll... oh well.

Just to make one thing perfectly clear: The Kobold Missionary in Steamfont has absolutely nothing to do with this quest. I have done it twice for my own personal researching purposes and have never needed to kill the missionary to complete this quest. Only NCP involved is the aboved named Lorekeeper.

The scroll the Kobold missonary drops is used in the 3rd part of the quellious initiate quest thats starts with odd kobald paws quest in Eurdin. It also brings in that Kobold you find in the ak'anon bar. Working on the dusty one above. got 6 of the 7 so far.

Oh yeah I got his scroll or whatever it is when I was hunting the Minotaur Hero. And in response to whoever said that thing about the jewelry kit, it is a tradeskill thing. Very few quests give you containers that you don't need to fill up completely to do the quest. One thing
I figure it might be is if you combine the 7 scrolls from the lorekeeper you'll get one item and if you combine it with the 8th scroll you get the real quest that might actually give a useful item. I think i'll be trying to camp this guy now and try combining with the scroll i got from the missionary. After all the scroll that drops off him isn't for any other quest that I know of.

The only reason I can't think that you all thought that there was an 8th one, is because there are 8 slots in the scroll case. That doesn't mean you need that many. A perfect example of that is a jewelers kit. It has 4 slots but you never put in more then 2 items, the jem and the metel bar of choice. I hope this helps.

On the top floor of the Erudin Library is a woman erudite named Weltria Ostriss. If you converse with her, she will give you an 8 slot container. There are ONLY seven scrolls to get.
The Mob is Lore Keeper Roggik. Sometimes drops two scrolls at once. Only once did he not drop a dusty scroll. These scrolls are written in elder Tier'Dal but can be deciphered by clicking and re-clicking on the scrolls. Eventually they will form a recognizable word. So keep clicking on them
The Seven Dusty Scrolls start with the words:
#1) As Rallos….
#2) In the time….
#3) Three hundred….
#4) It was during….
#5) The surface….
#6) Brell had….
#7) In the age….
Combine once you get the 7 and give back to Weltria Ostriss.
Received 37pp very little exp and some good faction.

Hope this helps?

Only 7 scrolls required and it ups faction. I'm not sure of all the faction hits but I do know that one of them is to the merchants of erudin. So that makes two quests now that can up your faction with them.

All the turmoil and strife create opportunities for heroism. GREAT GREEN, HAIRY TROLL TOES!!! Is this a great game or what? If you read the above posts, you will see that any level is able to hunt the lorekeeper because the scrolls are just normal scrolls, they are NOT: no drop, magic, lore. Which means? That the only time you cannot loot something because its trivial is when the dropped item is magic, no drop, or lore! If you notice, you can kill any kobold, if he has a molar you get the trivial message, yet you can loot the other items (soft whicker armor, alcohol!, and anything else they drop that is normal). Heh, pay attention man
