This group mission begins with Rubak in the North Desert of Ro at /waypoint 5582, -2445, 24, southeastern part of the zone, near the South Ro zone line. It is part of the Stone Cold Summer event that stars in August.
You say, 'Hail, Rubak' Rubak says, 'I really do like the sound of the waves breaking, not so much for the chatter of others. I take it that Waagosh didn't [send] you?' You say, 'No, she didn't send me. I am curious about the cause of the outbreaks in the Feerrott.' Rubak says, 'I don't like to talk about it. There's too [much muck] about it. ' You say, 'Too much muck?' Rubak says, 'Ugh. I don't want to talk about it. If you want to investigate the [infestation] and clean it up, I won't stop you. ' You say, 'I will handle the infestation.' Rubak says, 'Watch your step and [travel] safely.' You have been assigned the task 'Feel So Fungi'. Rubak says, 'If you find out anything interesting, keep it to yourself.' Rubak has had some bad experiences traveling the depths of Guk. Tried this with my alt 70 80 90s. Got the Minimum level too low message. Looks like this one does not scale.

Funky Time: Kill Portho Bellow in less than 30 minutes.

The named is KoS but not aggro until you are at the step in the mission to kill him, so you can get the mission bonus achievement by killing 5 fungus patches that are along the edges of the room he is in BEFORE you finish killing the 40 trash mobs..
The other bonus achievement is to eliminate the grasping root patches, of which there are 3.
First is very near 0,0 on the map. From entrance you head all the way WEST to the big room with the 3 planks. You will see Rubak at the far end, keep going south to the first intersection, go WEST then SOUTH. There is a rat with the root patch. .
Second is south east of there. Keep heading south until you hit the section of rooms where you can only go west or east. Head EAST in the hall to where it turns south. The root is in that corner of the hallway.
Third is in the WESTERN most room on the map. Its in the chuck of wall that is missing on the west side.
As others have mentioned, if you aggro the named from an area away from his spawn point, he will do this warp thing, where he will pop in near you, beat you about the head for a second, long enough to land a couple of spells on him, then poof. When he comes back after a few seconds, he has all debuffs gone and beats on you again. One run he killed the merc healer within the couple of seconds he was there. So I recommend to just run to his room and let him come find you there.
His adds are the problem (at least for me who relies on a merc tank). they cant be mezzed and resisted roots and cause chaos. I slowly beat down the named to see if they spawn at a specific % and the first 2 popped around 70%.
The I got 6 more adds, 2 at a time as he got lower. Needless to say the merc didnt last long so I had to get quite creative with my strategy. Once he died, I still had to contend with the adds, which will actually aggro to you so be ready if you zone back in.
The reward was a neck item, not much better than bazaar level.
Bring a real tank and healer with you... dont try to 4 box it with merc tank and healer. It wont be a good day for you.

He is located to the far south on the map. He's in a large chamber. He has a huge aggro range. He also spawns about 6-8 adds, They do not despawn when he is killed. All that are left alive if you wipe will aggro when you run back to the chest. Nasty little blobs.Only 1 item dropped. HP/man was in the 9500 range. Don't think this is a good mission for the loot with the time you put into it.

Just been trying this with a pair of boxed 115 Mages.
The shrooms all seem to be level 116 and are generally single pulls.
The rats are level 118, see invis and mostly roam. Ie they are a pain.
I was progressing fairly well till I scouted forward to check the boss, Portho Bello. Level 124 but seems to be in a chamber alone at the south of the zone. It had better drop something worth the effort of killing 40+ yellows.
Some other time, with a bigger group perhaps...
