Shakrn Meadowgreen is located (106, -2215) in the centaur encampment in South Karana.

You say, 'Hail, Shakrn Meadowgreen'

Shakrn Meadowgreen says 'Hail! I am Shakrn Meadowgreen, warrior extraordinaire and master armorer of the Meadowgreen family. My brother and I craft [armor] for the bravest warriors in the land - do you think you [qualify]?'

You say, 'I qualify.'

Shakrn Meadowgreen says 'So you are a warrior of renown? [Prove] it to me and I will smith you [armor] befitting your exalted station.'

You say, 'How do I prove it?'

Shakrn Meadowgreen says 'You will prove yourself to me the old fashioned way, by killing things and bringing me back proof of your deed. Bah. What other way is there?'

You say, 'What armor?'

Shakrn Meadowgreen says 'I smith [helms], [gauntlets], [boots] and [vambraces]. My brother Ulan smiths bracers, greaves, pauldrons and breastplates.'

You say, 'What vambraces?'

Shakrn Meadowgreen says 'Come, warrior, and speak to me of your strength. Bring me the eye of a griffon that I might eat it raw in the fashion of my ancestors. Do this for me - then gift me with two [fire emeralds], and for you I will make a crafted vambrace.'

Fire emeralds may be purchased from several merchants. A Griffon Eye drops from griffons which are found wandering North Karana and East Karana.

Upon Handing in two fire emeralds and a Griffon Eye:

Shakrn Meadowgreen says 'Wait, ______, are you not forgetting something?'
Shakrn Meadowgreen says 'Wait, ______, are you not forgetting something?'
Shakrn Meadowgreen says 'A griffon eye - I shall eat well tonight, and toast you in the manner of my ancestors. Take these crafted vambraces - they will serve you well.'
You gain experience!!

No Such Thing
# Dec 23 2000 at 3:03 AM Rating: Default
This separate heading for Eye of A Griffon is unnecessary. The no drop lore item Griffon Eye allows you to complete the crafted vambraces quest as long as you have the two fire emeralds. I can't say whether it works for the othe quest as I have never tried it.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 15 2001 at 2:36 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) so are you saying you can just hand in two fire emeralds and you get the armor?

Read his post again, then try to comprehend. Then maybe you'll understand
#Anonymous, Posted: Nov 29 2000 at 6:51 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) WHY IS THE MINIMUM LVL FOR THIS QUEST 25! I AM KINDA HESATIVE TO THINK THAT EVEN A FULL GROUP(PROVIDED YOU FIND ONE)OF 25'S COULD TAKE ONE OF THESE THINGS. AND WARRIORS SUCK AGAINST FAWN, WHY WOULD THEY BE ANY BETTER AGAINST THESE BASTARDS. HMMM, MAYBE, I WILL BE ABLE TO SOLO ONE OF THESE THINGS WHEN IM LIKE LVL 45! YEAH THAT MAKES SENCE.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 11 2001 at 3:51 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) the reason these are labeled 25 min lvl is because a) it is mid lvl quest armor and 25 is pretty mid lvl, b) it is the appropriate time for a warrior to start questing for armor as banded is horrible and bronze is pretty common at this lvl, and 3) if u werent such a freekin ****** that didnt freak out over everything(getting that exited over quest armor?) u might have friends or maybe a guild that would help u in getting this. a group would prolly take down most things u need for u crafted armor right? so u cant solo for u crafted, u cant solo forever unless u necro and if u want this armor u arent a necro so get used to grouping, chill out and make some friends. i know its hard for people like u to do but try.

It's from Home Alone, it's when Kevin's older brother is talking about why he's not worried about the fact that Kevin got left at home when the whole family went to Paris for Christmas.

Houek
Though apparently you are...

His point was perfectly valid, though admittedly could have been written without full capitalisation.
The statement at the start of the quest section states
'The minimum level listed for the quest assumes that you will be doing the quest SOLO, or in a SMALL group.'.
A solo 25th warrior or even a full group of lvl 25's would be unable to take down a level 37 mob.
Yes, he could get the help from his guild or higher lvl PCs but thats not what the minimum level is based on. Therefore his point was valid, and your opinion only served to show us another horrible example of the ill-mannered, offensive and ultimately ignorant idiots who plague EQ.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 12 2001 at 1:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) and some of us actually know how to spell "you"
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 11 2001 at 10:37 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) isn't that from monty python's quest for the holy grail?
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 12 2000 at 2:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think I can speak for everyone on this topic. Please people when you know that someone has been camping for a long time, don't pester them about when they are going to leave. Don't sit down next to them to "wait" until they are done. You might be waiting a long time and then the time it takes for you to complete your camp on top of that. The NPC will always respawn and will always be there. Just ask them kindly if they will send you a tell when they are done and 9 times out of 10 they will. These players are tired from camping that long of a period and quite understandably a little grouchy and become extremely nervous at the thought of someone possibly stealing their kill. So, be courteous.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 13 2001 at 10:20 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) So you're just going to spam every board with this "courteous" nonsense huh? Jiminy Christmas....

Eye is NO Drop
# Aug 15 2000 at 5:46 PM Rating: Decent
the Griffon eye is NO DROP and LORE.
No drops?
# Aug 13 2000 at 6:33 PM Rating: Decent
Is the griffon eye nodrop? Or can it be given to the warrior doing the quest so that he gets (nice) experience out of it.
RE: No drops?
# Nov 01 2000 at 5:02 AM Rating: Good
The eye itself is no drop, yes, so you can't trade it. However, the eye can be given to the centaur by somebody other than the person doing the quest. The person who gives the last item to the quest giver recieves the reward.

Eg: somebody gives Shakrn the eye, somebody else gives him two emmies. The person who gives him the emeralds gets the vambraces, as long as they're handed in last.

They've has allowed this as quests can be done in groups to expidite them. The quest giver just needs the items, and doesn't really care who gives them in. 8)

sorry

sorry bud, but when the rubies drop off the centuars, it means that a person gave the quest items to that thing, it happened to me when doing the gauntlets quest, i killed the foal who i accidently gave it too and he only had 1 star ruby, so thats what happens when you get a ruby or something like that from the centaurs
Gem drops
# Jul 30 2000 at 10:06 PM Rating: Decent
Fire emeralds, and most gems, drop off centaurs in South Karana.. the other day I got a RUBY off of a centaur sheltie. But expect to kill hundreds of cents before you see that happen. I have, and ruby is the best I've found so far, sometimes opals, peridots, emeralds, black pearls, etc..
Gems
# Jul 30 2000 at 11:33 AM Rating: Decent
Fire Emeralds, Sapphires, and Star Rubies can all be bought off the same vendors that sell metal for jewelcraft. Also seafuries have a chance of droping them.
gems

i picked up a fire emerald from the oracle's guardian, but that was just once out of dozens of times killing him
Gems

One place to buy Fire Emeralds is in Freeport. You leave the bank, head past the Jade building and through wall opening. Blue building to left
holds jewelry supplies and you can buy Fire Emeralds there.
RE: Gems

gem locations
# Jul 10 2000 at 2:55 PM Rating: Decent
The old quest page used to have the gem locations included. That information would be good to have again.
