Quest pieces for Twilight Sea armor drops here, among other places. Stuff is very hard to get, vey rare, time consuming, and tedious...and the armor is not in par with effort involved. Equal to planar armor at best. But thats not stopping me!! =D /em still wears Lambent legs at 48.
A friend and I just caught wind of these creatures and the "Fist of Rock" they drop. My question is are the ones in Mons Letalis or Maru Seru the easy ones? The Fist of Rock has been reported to only drop in Mons Letalis, is that right? I am a 52 Reaver and my friend is a 51 Disciple, would we have much a problem? Mind you I can function much like a necromancer insofar as I have Dooming Darkness, Invoke Fear, a level 39 pet, and soon, Boil Blood. If someone could answer my query I would be much obliged, thank you.
The Stonegrabbers in Mons Letalis are much much harder than the ones in Marus Seru. A 52 SK and a 51 Monk shouldn't have much trouble though. They fear really easily and if you pick the right spot, you are unlikely to get any adds. Pull, dark, fear, and beat on it.
If you tried to fight one toe to toe without a healer, I think it wouldn't be worth your time. They hit hard and you'd have severe downtime.
Myself and a 51 monk hunted Stonegrabbers in Letalis at the Marus Seru zoneline, and killed about 40 before he got his Fist of Rock. They do hit very hard, 130 or so very frequently. They also had virtually no other loot.
In Mons I had a good group of me a 49 wizzy and a 49 mage. We were using the mage's pet as our tank with the new summoned armor. These guys are nasty. They hit HARD and FAST, I'm talking triple attacks in the 150-175 range, with smashes and such. Anyways, I was pulling and we got a named one. (dont remember the exact name). He droped a stone idol (lore) I was just wondering if anyone has found a quest involving this item yet. It only sells to the merchants for about 3pp and just thought maybe someone found a quest involving this item. Any help would be apriciated!! GL and Happy Hunting,
My necro 52 and myself 56 cleric get exp from these beasts quite easily. My necro sicks pt on them then she casts a dooming darkness and ignite blood and she sits. I then heal the pet with my donal's arms and poof they dead. The thing that makes me iritated are the wolves the attack in packs and can be very annoying. I fear them off with necro and proceed to axe the rockgrabbers.
About half of these con light blue at 60, and unlike their lower level cousins in Marus Saru, are KOS. As I was exploring the zone I killed a couple of these and found they hit for 120s max...and they hit a lot!
Only loot I got was a monk/beastmaster only item called Fist of Rock~7 DAM, 18 DEL, +3 STR&STA, +3 SVD&P, +25 HP. It has the same inventory graphics as the monk epic and glows red when used. Also, it's not lore.
The Stonegrabbers in Marus Seru are NOT the same as in Mons Letalis, not by any stretch of the imagination. I, a 38 Shadow Knight, have been easily soloing the few dark blues in Marus Seru, which are not aggro and only occasionally social (one aggroed during a fight), but when I went into Mons Letalis, just to look around, POW! I got hit for 119 first hit by one of the damn things, and it outran my SoW and beat me down in a matter of seconds. As a sidenote, the Shik Nars and Rockhoppers conned amiable to me, so they must be evil aligned. Nyaala, 38 Shadow Knight Painmistress of the Council of Hate Solusek Ro Server
The ones in Echo Caverns conned blue consistently to a 41 necro and a 43 ranger. were annoying... necro couldn't land any dot's, but fears and snares landed EASY and fears lasted full durration, were pretty easy. no drops, just cash so far, gotten as little as 2p, as much as 10p
In Marus Seru, these con green to light blue to a 39 druid. Non-aggressive and not social. I had 1 walk right through a fight when I was killing 1 as a test; he kept going. Should be good for quad-kiting for a mid-30's druid.
I've had my invis broken a couple times by these stupid things while running through Echo Caverns. If you're invis, watch out for them or they'll jump you with all their buddies.
Uh.. the ones in Marus Saru cons Blue to a level 30 Druid and Indifferent with invis. I don't know if they can see through invis or not, because I wasn't using it and still conned Indifferent to me, as does pretty much everything in that zone.
And if they con Blue to a level 30, they probably aren't 35-40 :)
