Can confirm that on Yelinak TLP, it drops from 'a Stonegrabber' in Marus Seru
Dropped off "a Greyhopper" x2 today on Oakwynd server.

My experience was based on the Yelinak server in 2022.
As others have mentioned, Katta is definitely way faster in shard drop. I ended up soloing as a 60 shaman in the courtyard / garden with the big building on the west size of the zone (near the TM zoneline). I was following the advice of only killing Cents during the night time but I got no drops after a few cycles.
During the day cycle, I happen to be attacked by a Centurion pathing through the garden as normal, and when I killed him, I got my lucid shard!. Talk about lucky, but it also demonstrated that the shard can drop off the day time mobs as well.
Agian this experience was based on this single playthrough. If I were to do it again, I would still kill in KC, but kill any centurions during day / night.

Head due south and turn right into the gardened area in front of a big building.
There should be CENTURIONS patrolling the grounds.
Wait till 9pm game time. The daytime centurions will despawn and a new batch with different names will spawn at that time. You need someone NOT on Luclin to tell you the time since you can't discern time on the moon.
Kill these centurions till a shard drops. Got the one I needed on 3rd kill.
Watch out for Tobala Honeyjar. Flagged as level 61 druid guildmaster and she's rumored to have 1million HPs and will apparently assist the centurions. Fought her for 5 minutes with my group of 4 and when she was still at 100% I evac'd away since she's also rumored not to drop anything!

Centurion Garicalious dropped a shard as well for me.
There is also a night spawn centurion by the name of Centurion Venctivo that drops shard... just got one off him. He is on upper right balcony area inside eastern Centurion building.
I've gotten this shard for 6 different characters and helped many others with it, in both Seru and Katta. Based on my experience, I'll never waste my time in Seru again. On 5 occassions, I've gone to the eastern Centurion building in Katta and gotten the shard within the first 3 kills of the night-spawn Centurions (see the list for the proper names). In 3 of these 5 cases, I got it on the first kill. The day spawn Centurions will NOT drop the shard, so don't waste your faction on them. In every case of farming in Katta, I left with the exact same faction that I arrived with; 2 or 3 kills was never enough to budge my faction. I've only killed the few Centurions that are spaced apart on the ground floor, that's all it takes. Don't go to the second floor or you get nasty adds thru the walls.
I have camped one of these shards for my own character in Seru and probably 4 or 5 others in Seru for guildmates... Seru sucks as far as drop rate on these. The one I camped for my own character (first time I ever camped it) took me 4 hours of constant killing (longer than any other shard for that particular time I was doing VT key quest). When I have helped guildies, I have desperately tried to convince them to go to Katta but they declined because of worry about their faction... therefore we spent hours in Seru waiting for one to drop (thereby ******** up everyone's Seru faction in the process).
I realize that EQ is all about luck, and one or two shard camps doesn't say much. But, multiple experiences in both Katta and Seru are not just coincidence, the drop rate is higher in Katta... there is no doubt.
Moral to the story: whether you care about faction or not (whether it be Katta of Seru), get this shard in Katta! You will get it so fast you're faction will be fine. Do the research and be sure you go to the correct building in Katta (the "eastern" one everybody refers to) and kill only the night Centurions... if the day Centurions are up, read a book or something until the night ones spawn (you'll see it when it happens).
Seru is a waste of time and faction... in most cases.

I am killing the night spawning centurions in Katta and have completed two night cycles with no drop so far. Given that you have to wait 30+ minutes between day/night for each chance I am not sure it is really that much faster than Seru.
*Note - That is also killing ALL the centurions that are up at night. Upstairs, downstairs, and outside.
**Got it - It took 3 full night cycles to get it. I finally got right before the 3rd night ended.

Got my shard after 3-4 kills of the night spawn.
I killed like 30 in seru, starting thinking let me look up more info and saw this. Thank goodness I did.

From the Tenebrous zone in to Katta go south till you see the entrance to the walled in area on your right (west). There is a garden area in front of a building. This entire area spawns about 6 of the shard droppers at night. Being 9pm to 6am game time. An easy way to tell when they spawn is to go inside the area , target one of the centurions at the entrance then go back to the zone in. When he disappears you know the night mobs have spawned. Assuming noone is in there killing mobs. If you come into the zone from Twilight, succor will carry you across to the Tenebrous zone line. I did this on my 60 necro on Vulak Aerr.
The only mobs you have to split are the 2 door guards. I did this using Screaming Terror on one as the other aggroed. I led it back a bit, sent pet in on the aggroed mob and FDed.
The night Centurions have more Hp and hit quite a bit harder than the day versions. I used my top Fire, Disease and Poison dots. As well as my Life tap and Epic spells. At times I would have to intentionally get aggro to keep pet from dying. I would stand next to him and life tap to keep my health up.
It took me 4 night time rotations to get my shard. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Centurion Engrov in Katta dropped it for me today. He was RIGHT next to Lcea Katta.

Can add Legiodnaire Celox to list of drop mobs. The post about the transport pad to upper walkway was perfect, only had to kill about 25 legionnaires.

Shard dropped off of Legionnaire Rotin today in Sanctus Seru
Got a shard for my shaman off Legionnaire Balien tonight.
granted not a tracker, but didn't see a single centurion in KC while i was there; just a ton of legionaires. checked the time thing as one person posted too. even at 4am game time, no centurions around. :( guess it's off to SS for shard farming.
they are around, near the castle in the center of the zone, by the druid GM, about the only place i could find them

ok .. not sure if this has any validity but here it goes. i came here indiff and left dubious. started killing the hands and intervallum. decided to look for the named ones. found them in the wall cutouts looking through windows. after the sixth one i got the shard. got the two required for my pally and druid off Telum and Potens. hope this helps.
you can add centurion rottin to the sanctus seru list of shard droppers

oh yeah, there's a hit. i'm well loved in Sanctus and well hated in Katta after spending an evening in a group hunting shards for everyone in group.
My mage is kos for killing summoned mobs in Seru.The Exp was good at 61 for aa exp i could careless about faction means nothing to me.I`ma little cute gnome but im evil makes it fun be kos everywhere.

Centurion Altinus in Katta too
11AM dropped off Centurion Allanus. I was just omw out to my raid and pulled 2 by accident for fun. Killed and looted my shard. Just thought wierd that it dropped at 11AM in-game...

I've read the posts here, and on other links for this quest. I got the times down, the names, the locations, and still no luck. I've cleared the halls on the second deck in SS several times, and several more, still no shard. My faction in Katta, is beyond reproach. I went to Katta, and smoked a bunch of the Centurions at the perscribed time, (after 9PM), and still no shard. I solo these mobs with my 61 BST, and I'll tell ya, I'd rather take on 2 or 3 SS Legos, then 1 of the Katta Centurions, there as tough as undercooked spagetti. Well I'm not too worried about my faction in Katta, as I'm sure it will take some time to even budge my faction there even a little bit after all the SS Legos I've done away with. Another thing I've noticed is that the the Centurions don't drop near as much pp as the SS Legos, but they drop better gear, well suted for tribute turn in anyway, hehe. I was getting 10-20 pp per kill in SS, along with the occasional 8gp 4sp, (I bet I know where that one spent his weekened :). I don't know when, but I know how I'm gona get my shard, they say persistance pays off eventualy, so I'll just keep grinding away at the XP, until that shard drops.
