First this dude is way underconned. Im 32 warrior and he was green to me so I pulled him to my grp. he starts hittin for 80, wtf? no mobs below 30 hit for eighty? Still took him down but his HP is mean also, he kept blinding me. he sux.

well sorry to kick you but Shadowknights solo undead MUCH better than u paladins..

I bet i can even twink a level 30 warrior so hard he can solo Torklar. if you can solo torklar, you can solo Garanel Rucksiff as Torklar is about as hard as GR himself, just a few levels lower

I shadowknight? Hmmm, probably can take him solo. I will try it with my SK when he gets older (only level 14 now).
Again, the only way would be to attempt fear kiting. SK's dont have root any good undead nukes at this level so the only way I can see this happening is to spook him (level 22 for Sk's, level 9 for Palis), throw your sissy pet on him, darkness him to slow him down, then melee as he runs. I wouldn't waste mana on dots, but I may use siphon strengh to weaken him a bit. Maybe even cast vampiric embrace before combat just in case.
Better hope fear sticks for a while and darkness actually lands or the only good thing you can do is use your corpse locator spell after reloading.

Ok, last night at our Midsummer Knights guild raid here in unrest. My group killed him. Or well actually one of my fav guild officers nailed it with a dd (Wiz). It dropped the hammer and battleworn cantine. He hit me as tank, no harder than 70+. He has some kind of like super regen too?. So GL to those stupid enough to try and solo him.

I have a lvl 19 warrior and i camp in unrest and usually pull carrion ghous and some idiot in my group pulled torkalr outa the house and he was hititn me for bout 80 point if dmg luckily i got to the zone and made it out alive..... the scary part is he was yellow to me!!!!!!!.......bloodmasta
Well, I agree with those who say Torklar is a serious undercon. At level 20 I could solo Lockjaw in Oasis (Red, level 24 to 25) w/o using my Layhands (I use a Blackened Alloy Bastardsword). I could not even survive the fight with a level 20 Torklar at my current level of 21. He hit hard and often.
I think it is hard for a level 30+ to gague how much of a undercon a mob is because they are so much higher in level. I can solo other black and yellow mobs in this zone but not a blue Torklar.

29 Warrior with babs and all crafted armor but boots and bp... 640+ ac and no buffs...
This guy did over 900hp damage while I did less than 200 even opening up with 100+ damage using a wgted axe...
I zoned with less than 20hp left. Only a paladin or shadowknight could solo this guy under level 30.

Im a 45 wizzard who ran across this guy- he conned blue, and i dont know of 20-24 conning blue to 45!, also he hits as hard/fast as a warr 30-35 lvl.dropped some pally quest stuff, killed him with 3 conflagurations(610 dd a pop). Needless to say by the time i was done with him, 600 of my 745 hp were gone! careful around this big guy
First of all, I don't want to hear about how some level 59 whatever was able to easily kick his *** one day. Who cares. Anyone who can't kill this thing at lvl 30 should really consider deleting their character.
Now, for those in the 20's, I posted the way I regularly kill this thing (since level 24) elswhere, and I'll do it again here:
First off, this is a mob that is made for a Paladin to solo. Most casters can root (or snare) and nuke, but they can't take him on toe-to-toe. Most tanks can fight toe-to-toe with him, but will take major damage in the process, and probably die.
Now, here comes a pali, casting and tanking against the undead minions of Norrath like no other class can. Yes, that is the sound of a bard running away in fear while blowing on something, and his wind instrument too.
Now, Brave and Noble Mr. Joe Paladin starts the encounter by warding undead to wake our ghoslty nemesis from his eternal sleep. Lead him out into the courtyard and click on the root gem. Drop a few more ward bombs on him while pelting him with arrows you fashioned yourself. When root fades, repeat once more.
By the second root fade, you should still have 1/3 mana. Yes, that is a warrior next to you turning green with envy, but too dumb to spell MANA. Cast Yaulp and bum rush our undead host with GB in one hand and a good shield in the other. Hit <f9> a few times to check out the other classes drooling at you wishing they had started a paladin instead. Pray to your chosen diety for GB to proc at least twice. About 45 seconds later, you will have a dead undead littering your boots, and about half your health left.
That noise you hear was a ranger crying in the corner, in the loving lap of a cleric who's eyeing him the wrong way.
Again, this is just a way for us palis to show off. Do it well and often.

Can Paladins use bows? I thought they weren't allowed to use bows.
Anyways, I don't see why any other well organized class can't kill this chumpie. A little planning a little Feign pulling, and active use of Mend ought to help any monk worth his weight restriction go toe to toe with this guy. Sure, he hits HARD, but he's got to hit you first.

A lower level monk will have no chance against this guy. Monks do not have the AC or HP's to do it. Torklar dual-hits in the 50's-80's, and seems to get in extra hits per round (riposte?). You better be good at feign death. Hitting him 5 times per round for 6 points of damage will not cut it very long while he's doing 100-160 points a damage per round.
He also resists a lot of spells so casters will eventually have to go toe-to-toe with him at some point in the encounter.

Since my original post, I started a Necro and suddenly rediscovered the underused level 9 Paladin spell: Spook the Dead.
With this spell, it is even easier to kill this guy - Fear Kiting. A normal Necro can try this but his pet would last 7 seconds when fear runs out.

My monk has more ac than all warriors I meet unless they are 54 plus. So what are you talking about monks have low ac. My monk is level 48 btw.

Yes you can shoot him with arrows but not if he is kicking your *** because you can't root him with your pathetic grasping roots.

Finally you get to tanking. Oh wait, you didn't get that far because you are already dead.

Well I'm a 29 Erudite wiz and this thing is without a doubt the worst undercon I've ever seen while fighting in EQ thus far. It hit both me and my monk compatriot for 80 dmg quite a few times and dropped me without a prob (amazingly it resisted my maxed out root 5 times). I admit we were fighting sloppily inside the Estate, but he certainly shouldn't have a been a match for us both. However pallys and clerics have no excuse for murdering this bad boy. My roomie is a 30 pal with GB and he murdered him without losing more than 1 1/2 bubs. Just forewarning some others out there this is one serious underconn!

I'm a Warr 40 Halfing in Karana and I killed it easy without help.

I brought one of my alts in here today, after getting a part for the ghoulbane quest (the ladie outside of Unrest, she is part of the ghoulbane quest). Well, i went in there, killed lots of ghouls, and skellys, easy for my lil 34 pally. Well, i saw this guy, a few times, and i was told by a buddy he was a major undercon, and so i didn't attack him. Wish it could have stayed that way, because when i was killing a ghoul, it desided to run further into the building, and not outside, like it should have (man i dislike bad pathing) and the ghoul ran past this guy, pulling him with. I ran outside, and had almost 3/4 mana, so i wasn't worried.
I finished off that ghoul easy enough, but this guy....no, no he killed me. I rooted him, nuked a few times, and then healed myself. Went back in, and he beat on me more, root broke, he really started to kick my butt. I start to run, then get stunned with half bubble of health left, i use my lay of hands, and fight some more, get him to about, say 1/8 health, and he is still attacking me, so i run, yell out the train, and go to zone. Noticed i wasn't getting hit, so i stoped, healed up a lil, and went back, to finish him off, well, got back to him and he had 50% health, darn, i run, he see's me again, and dead.
Loading please wait, and i'm in FV. No guildies to rez, or revive, and no one in the zone could do it. On the boat i go. So, don't believe what the level is on this guy, he is a hard thing to kill, and has major regen, thinking he might have another drop, something with regen on it. I was in unrest as a 23 cleric just beatting some stuff up with a druid friend of mine (lvl 54) and she pulled this guy, he hit her pretty hard, not that it mattered really, so I nuked him a couple of times and agroed him to me. He did con blue to me at 23. He did hit for 80 a few times and he has alot of hps for his con. All of that is true....kindof like fighting those skeleton guards in paineel... con green to me at like 16 but will beat you silly at that lvl.
What I would like to know is if anyone has been keen enough to figure out the quest for the canteen. Since I have the silly thing now if it is a questable dropable item for me I'll go do it!

I saw a 24 (very well twinked) Pally solo him with a little bit of help from a 57 Druid, He didn't look that tough. I got the canteen, but have no use for it cause i'm a druid.

ok i ran into him at least four times in a couple hours all times he conned blue to me at 27 and it took only me and another paladin(who was lvl 30)and we killed this guy easy enough, so the lvl is right

i was a 34 warrior when i ran into this bad guy. I was in a group with a 33 claeric and 27 chanter, we were in Unrest getting revenge when we found him. He conned green to me and the cleric, and blue to the chnter. as we were fighting all i could do was fight and hope the cleric didn't run out of mana and that i could kill him. Luckily we killed him and in the nick of, right as he died the cleric was OOM )

He caught me unexpected, so I didn't get to kill him. I'm level 35, he conned green to me, but he was hitting for 80 damage at max. If there wasn't a ton of other stuff beating on me I would of slowed him & taken him out, but I had to zone :(

This guy sucks if you're not a cleric, I thought he was the guy that dropped Dwarven Work Boots and Jagged Bands so I wasted 3 hours camping him. He's easy, Gekn too him out FAST.

ok it says he is lvl 20-24.... that seems wrong to me, at lvl 22 i was in unrest with my paladin. some moron pulled him to zone and i tried to take him on. he was hiting me for over 80. most lvl 30mobs hit that hard. just curious about his lvl.
Me (a lvl 36 druid in greater wolf form) pull this guy out of the house to my friend (a lvl 34 ranger with both of our buffs) kill this guy with ease. All I did was pull with my best dot and run to my friend. He snare & tank, I dot again, nuke & heal. It was easy, kill him 3 times like that, although we didn't get exp we did make some clerics there really happy by letting them loot the cantines.=D

Well I find this as humoros. I am a lvl 37 druid and was in DC hunting Bilge for the Pearl Kedge Totem <sigh> and well like that will ever happen rofl. So during my long and uneventfull wait in DC I zoned into Unrest to kill stuff for fun. I dunno how you guys have trouble with this guy, I made him look like a joke and completely wasted him with no threat at all lol. Sorry but to me he was easy. Just root, fury of air, and boom he is dead without even him touching you unless you oom and I did lol. He hit me a few times for 80, I just ran to the other side of the room and rooted again, then boom and the guy dies. He only dropped a jade, and the cantine. So if anyone has info on this quest the cantine is for please post it, and is it really worth my time? Most quests are lame, and very worthless unless you get to like lvl 50ish then some are pointfull. Well anyway, if you don't have root be carefull cause he does hit for 80 so it could get messy =p. Have fun everyone =).
