Probably just a coincidence, but I killed mobs, mostly leopards around Redwind and it seems I got luckiest there. The shaman would spawn and shortly after that run north or south. once I started killin in the center I got several shaman this way
Just thought I'd post this tidbit. Last night I was killing Mammoths with my 25 Warrior alt. It seems like every time I'd be engaged with a Mammoth one of the Shammies would show up out of nowhwere! These guys are pure Green to me and I didn't expect this much aggroe from mobs so much lower in level.
The worst part is that while the individual shammie doesn't really do much damage, he rarely alone. While you're fighting one mob there's a shammie getting free hits on you. Switch to the Shammie and the first mob gets the free hits. This aspect will be especially bad for young Caster types because of all the interuptions during their casting.
Currently hunting these with my L15 Ranger. Good solo XP as these con yellow to me. Just to add my 2 CP on Shaman Spells I've been hit with Root, Weak Poison, Droswy and Sicken, all too frequently :-)
OK. I am confused. I was exploring the Everfrost area last night, playing with my level 14 Druids new Befriend Animal charm. I had killed a baby mamoth, who wasnt happy with me when the charm wore off. I cast Camo to sit and med a little bit. While sitting there, I start getting hit by what turns out to an Orc Shaman. He conned yellow, so I was pretty close to kissing my frozen fanny good-bye there. Being the tough little stinker he is, though, Darlgon kept swinging and casting til he ran out of mana. Dang if that ratty shaman hit 8 percent health, rooted me and ran away. Darl still had like 20 percent health, so I sat to med til the root ran off. Unfortunately, my stinging swarm wore off before that shaman died. OH well. Next time.
But they all can apparently can see through camo and invisible. Next orc to see me attacked while I was camo too.
Lately I used Everfrost as a solo ground for my halfling paladin (starting at level 13). These guys are kinda easy to take down. It is true, they root, slow and dot you. But with a stun spell or a shield to bash you can interrupt them most of the times. Usually they got root stuck on me before running away. Too bad they're not intelligent. They don't heal up or cast on you from the distance. Instead they step back and forth while you wait til the root breaks to finally hunt them down.
I've been hunting these guys at South Tower recently and all that ime they have not rooted me (possibly 20-30 kills) Since todays patch I've been rooted every time I've pulled, which lead to some 'interesting' pitched battles on the orc path.
Be careful - and dont scout too far away from base!
These Guys are easy for a lvl 17 just a matter of hits from a BABS and Wipe out. For all those Noobs out there they don't have Root they slow. Their spell is Slam of Frost.

I was kiling these guys tonight to raise my ring of scale faction, but no faction at all changed. Can anyone help me out with this, please? (sorry if this has already been asked, but I'm really short on time right now, and really need to know this asap) Lalyenea Druid of 39 seasons Prexus
These guys are do-able solo for a 13-14th level Necro. First make sure there are no other orcs in the area, because they will come help and that can really mess up your day.
Use your endure cold spell buff, and start the battle with Heat Blood. Then Leach, then wade in and finish the job. You may have to back off and Lifedraw once. Spending the mana for a quicker kill lowers risk of having something else join the fray before you're ready to take it on.
He's easy, I killed him with my lvl 11 shadowknight with a few heals from a lvl 10 shaman. With a harm touch and a lot of good hits with my Runic Carver he was smoked!
1. YOU start battle. (if he does say bye to at least 2 of your life bars, i'm a lvl 12 Paladin now). 2. If you havent figured it out yet, you are better off with a 1 handed sword than a 2 handed... heres why: you die against shaman! You need a shield, any shield will do (swords can interrupt spells). And of course you need a sword, get one as close to 30 delay or lower as you can, and try to avoid those low damage ones like 5 or 6 or 7damage. Do not bash with shield until "orc shaman casts a spell", and hope that you max your bash before you take shaman orc (it would REALLY be to your benifit if you max you slash too for your level), then you will see that nice message "an orc shamans spell is interrupted". The reason why I say dont bash till he casts is that you can only bash like every 5 seconds, and who knows when he will cast. Then its cake from here. Just bash when he casts and as long as he cant cast, he is a joke. 3. He hits in mid 20's to me, a Paladin, now lvl 12, but usually hits for 2,3 or 5 or so. You NEED AC. I have around 250, so should you. Dont worry about his spells (except for his 75damage one), like root (he doesnt attack from far except for starting battles, so he is really a malee type), sickness and others, just sit (you most likely will) after you kill him and they immediately leave you. Its not easy, I usually have around 2 to 3 bars of hp after I finish him, that includes the one 75damage spell he does, but unlike some others, I can heal myself (and you always have Lay on Hands for emergencies). Oh, and try to go in battle with full HP and mana. *** theres a tactic I learned to heal during battle. Wait till right after he hits or tries to hit you, then IMMEDIATELY pres Tab, Heal, Tab. And you just healed yourself during battle (if your channeling is up). Learning this tactic, will allow you to solo orcs and others like him. When I'm in battle with another Paladin (wow), we just time our bashes together so if one misses, the other will probably bash him if the first one didn't already. The safest way to take out orc is to have all shield wielders. I've been in group of lvls 8 to 11 of 4 and all have shields, and we were all surprized to find ourselves alive after killing shaman orc. Note, this tactic applies to all casters, ie, madman, orc priests...
This shaman sucks. He's pretty easy for a 26 ranger, but for some reason he always aggros on me when I'm fighting mammoths. He also casts a spell on me that does 81+ dam to me when I don't resist. More of a pain in the *** than anything else.
I had the exact same problem twice. I'm also a 26 ranger. Almost got me killed once. Did get me killed the second time cause it didn't notice him until he did some serious damage. Is there a level they stop agroing on you? Cons green to me.

I took one today and only lost 1 bub of health. I may have got it easy tho, cause I got him after he had already killed Megan. Used bash only when he was about to cast, it interrupted him every time. He had a bronze weapon on him to.
Don't solo these guys until you are at least level 16 and full health. I am level 17 rogue with nice weapons (dual), backstab, and items that raised my HP another 60. I attacked this one shaman, and was doing okay. Then another one showed up, and I took two Gusts of Wind spells for total of 150hp damage! Luckily for me, I was close to finishing off the first one, and he didn't run. So I killed him and attacked the second one, who went down. Result: I had about 30hp left. Nasty, so watch it before you attack.
I was hunting some low level monsters in a group with 2 other lv 8 shamans. All of a sudden, this guy shows up and starts attacking us. It was soo easy for us. At first I thought it was gonna be a challenge, but it wasn't.
If you want to hunt these things under 15th, make sure you do it in a group and have atleast 2 tank-types to keep it busy. The only chance you'll have of stopping its spells (especially that poison DoT) is to attack as often as possible. A heavy two-handed damage-dealer and a less-damaging but very fast dual-wielder seem to give a decent chance of taking it down quickly while keeping it from casting spells. You have to take these things down fast unless you want to get swarmed under! Unless it was trained to your area you can be sure its got friends around and they love to go after the casters while the tanks are busy.
If you do have to run with these on you, try to get them all onto one person with a SoW and keep a healer handy to patch him up on the way to the guards. Otherwise they slow you down with spells then you get bashed and pouned into the ground harder than a tent stake.
Don't mess with these guys , they are mean , strong , and cast spells very fast , do not try to solo them unless you're about 15th or higher , I recommend you group with at least three other people if you are all under 14th level, that way if you get mobed you still have a chance.
