i had a meeting with this guy,one druid was faster on him but asked me for assistance.he has helluva hps,but his spells arent that great.i slained him with assistance then,but i think this should work.first i suggest you get warden of tunare symbol for roots.go track him,ensnare him,throw drones of doom or better if you can,run run out of range,sit med.heal if you need to.keep redoing root and keep backing out of his spells range.since you lose like no mana you should be ok with hps,regen yourself too.this works on cougars so that i actually have more mana then i had when i started,so i bet this should turn out eventually.same stuff killed midnight on 35 easy...

for those folks waiting to get spells like ro's fiery sundering.. and similar 39th level spells a much simpler way to acquire them is by killling shardwurms over in the great divide. they drop them a lot more often and spawn a whole lot quicker. well good hunting to all...

Ro's Fiery Sundering also drops off of Ulthork Manowars in EW near Kael. Had 2 drop in one afternoon a couple weeks back, and I agree, why kill Garou for spell drops when you can kill easier things?

Verant was admittedly inspired by Magic: the Gathering, so why not WOTC's second generation game as well? I mean, right there in the game, one of the coolest cards - the werewolf --> The Renegade Garou. But it wasn't WOTC that coined this alternative word for werewolf. It originated in White Wolf's World of Darkness role-playing series - which is what the VTES card game is based on, of course. Even Celerity... a discipline in the Vampire game (both role-play and card) granting accelerated speed. I mean, surely I'm not the only one who has ever played the VTES card game!!

hehe, me and my druid wife are both hunting this guy, both lvl 39:)
our coordination is air tight, so we shouldn't have a problem. Snare, DoT, i tank and melee, she heals, she DDs it
if needed I can always bring my cleric friend alone for it.
It's all strategy. if anyone in their mid 30's fails with atleast 1 partner with them, then they are doing something wrong. Plan your EXACT spells to cast, and have the tank start off the fight. Once the tank gets ahold of the aggro, have the other person snare it, then have them DoT while you melee, then throw heals for a while, once it gets past half, start throwing all the mana into DDs and a heal or two if needed, there you go, one dead and ugly gnoll. If your caster doesn't have high wis(or int), get a third person to heal so the first caster can throw the DDs.

I spent considerable time near the ToFS leveling from 30 to 35 killing almost exclusivley cugars. The cugars are definatly placeholders for Midnight, and if you kill enough he will spawn in your area. After a while this seemed fairy common. He is a little tuffer than the normal cugars but you should have no troubles with him. He always drops the bloody bone. We never saw Garou spawn, so cugars are probably not his PH. Someone mentioned the Shadow Guardians, I tend to believe this. We also spent a good amount of time killing gnolls. (Didn't realize we'd want to talk to them later) And didn't get him to spawn from those either. Probably for the best, he would have made short work of us.
You can fix your faction with the Gnolls by killing the Ulthorks in Eastern Wastes.

Tried him with 3 in our group, 30 bard, 35 druid, and myself 35 wizard. We got slaughtered. He runs much faster than sow, hits like a sand giant, and casts as per a shaman type.
However I went back and attempted to solo him my snare stuck and I was doing pretty decent kiting him, one problem though, he has way more HP than I had mana, slaughtered again, and again. Ouch

Okies, killed him today. It was approx 12 midnight in game and he was at the usual place (from what I've read), near trees by single gnoll hut.
I'm 35 shammy, and me partner 37 droo...
He resisted druid's snare until i was able to magic debuff...he got several whacks on me b4 that, got me down to 2 bubs health. I hit him with 2 dots while pulling him around...He weren't aggro'd on droo, but me hehe...was waiting for a bomb to come to finish me off.
He didn't cast and DD's (maybe one), but cast slow a lot..DD mebbe hit for 60hps...Druid was DD'ng while he was chasing me...
Both of us ran oom, so I rooted him and we medded while shouting out for help...At this point he was less than 1/3 health...Hehe poor other Druid had just logged on to kill him, and he came to our aid (thanks Conifur!), and nuked him till just ded...My partner then DD'd him to deth and we looted....
Only thing on him was piercer (9/28, lifespike)...really wanted the skin...oh well...another day, another deader hehe...
Good luck all..wish me luck on getting the skin, I have the bone...
Also, anyone know anything about the harpoon quest given by the gnoll at the primary gnoll camp...says it requires a "Whale Bone".....

I logged in yesterday near Belix, and the Garou was running his silly circle. I was a little too excited and got too close, and he aggroed. Being a 51 SK, I figured I could fear kite him, but I had such a hard time getting off Dooming Darkness, that I had to Feign Death and /Shout for help. He took me down to 40% health.
A Druid heard my call, and healed me. We agreed to pair up and roll for the drops. He was after the fang, and I wanted the skin, so it was a good deal. Combined, we didn't have too many problems. The Garou is a shaman and spends a good bit of time trying to stick Tagers Insects. He always has Celerity on, so he hits quick and often. We did get some cougar adds but they are not a big problem. BTW, he was blue to me.
Anyway, he dropped the Fang and a lvl 39 Cleric spell. The Druid won the roll, and I got the scroll. Alas, I really wanted the skin since I have the bone. Next time I will prepare better before facing him.

a 51 SK had a problem with him??? what were you using a Rusty Short Sword... I am a 39 Iksar SK with some Dreadscale, some Ry'gorr, and a Dark Reaver and I took him down till he gated away... I was pretty low and didn't want to chance him coming back so I FD'd and hung out by my buddy Balix Mistyeyes... wish I had my HT up so I could have dropped him... I seriously hope you were low on health and practically oom when you tried to take him

Well, you are very wrong about Midnight not spawning over by ToFS... Actually, the snow cougars are PHs for Midnight. I have seen him by the igloos and ran str8 over to the tower only to see another one over there. I do not, however, believe that there can be more than one midnight up at a time.

Midnight is REALLY common and he doesnt spawn near ToFS. he spawns near Igloos and walks on back ledge like other cougars there.

s/he really is common, if you just hunt cougers to pass the time she'll spawn within a 10 min time frame (give or take)and she isnt much harder (or isnt harder) than the snow cougers to take down

im a 54 druid, and i tooled Garou 3 times already...snared, scoriae, scoriae, scoriae, and hes already running away, not going anywhere fast...he didnt gate, he didnt resist, he just died like a green mob should. he dropped tumultuous strength and fang first time, nothing second time, and ros fiery sundering the third time. i pretty much killed everything in the area, guardians, cougars, and what not, so i dont really know what made him spawn, or if its random.
quad kiting guardians and cougars is your best bet i believe. oh and btw, the garou club looks like a friggin n00b club, so dont get your hopes up that it'll look sweet...oh well.

Ive seen garou 4 times since Velious came out. Killed him twice the other two someone else was killing him. The two times I killed him with help of a 45 Necro and I was a 40 druid. He dropped the dagger once and nothing at all the second time. His spawn time is total BS. Especially when all I mainly wanted was Ro's Firey Sundering lvl 39 druid spell. His spawns are about outrageous as the Faction circle in Velious LOL. Oh and yes he does he does gate right back to his spawn point which is in a small set of trees. We got used to it so wed stay near his spawn spot Long range nuke fear kite *as Far away as we could* and send his pet in. Sometimes hed break the fear and gate back. When hed gated one of us would be on the way to his spawn spot and begin nuking again before hed heal. He goes down rather easily then. Oh yeah Stormfeather is also in the same Spawn Circle as Garou, Lodizal and I think even the Cheezey Animated snowstorm *looks like the Guardians* is in the same rotation. Not sure but If tracked and sometimes hes spawned instead of one of the other 3.

Spent a couple days killing Shadow Guardians with no luck on him spawning. Also could not find Midnight and the whole zone was willing to let me loot the black cougar if they dropped it. =( Hope you all have better luck.

After 3 days of trying to get Garou to spawn he finely did, We were all excited (29 druid, 30 rouge, 33 druid, 34 warrior, 35 ranger) and scaryed I had read up on the post here and was scaryed that we would all die... But he went down like a brick no one in the group lost more then a bub of health. Needless to say he did not have has skin but our rouge got a new toy =-)

I have heard that this big guy drops spells that are very useful for druids, shamans and the like, all at lvl 39 or so please tell me if he does.
