I was told that VSR pop every 72. I missed him on the day he should of pop up so I waited 3 more day and he did pop up I was so happy he did but when he pop up I killed :-) hope he pop up tomarrow again.

Ok, heres the down and dirty...and "NO" it makes no logical sense to me but what in this game does when it comes to spawn timers.
I killed the Real VS on 12 Jun 2009 @ 1120 and got the Wizzy Drop. I then started camping it again for a friend for the next 5 days. I would log in periodically to check and see if he was up and every time I was the only one camping him. However, this doesn't mean that someone didn't log in and kill him while I was away. But the spawn cycles that are posted in these forums can not be accurate...and this is why.
I killed VS Remains on the following times:

14 Jun 2009 @ 1100 AM
15 Jun 2009 @ 1000 AM
16 Jun 2009 @ 1100 AM
So, as you can see, there is no rhyme or reason to the spawn cycle which is previous listed. If it were, then the remains would not spawn every day unless the Real VS were also spawning everyday which I guess is possible, but I didn't log on at 8:00 am everyday to see if he was up. I logged in at between 10:00am and 11:00am to see if he had spawned.
Now, I finally got tired of all the schananagens and decided to camp the thing with my Monk FD'd in the room for as long as it takes from the time I killed the remains on the 16th of June. Well, low and behold he spawned at 11:45pm on the 16th of June. He dropped the Wizzy piece I needed so I was done with that mob, hopefully forever.
So, if you can put together a spawn cycle from this info, you are doing better than me. Would be interesting to know if he is now on a 11-12 hour spawn timer post VSR's death. Don't know, and don't intend on finding out. So, if you find out some additional information, please post it as to make this a bit easier for all concerned.

I've been camping the Real Venril Sathir for days now, I finally killed him but didnt get the drop I wanted. My point is I've been keeping close tabs on the spawn timer. I killed the Real VS at 3:30pm est , wasnt expecting to see the remains till 24 hours later but he was up at 6:30pm est. So three hours later after killin real VS the Remains are up. SO my question is if I kill the remains is it a definate 48 hours later Real VS Spawns or does he spawn exactly 3 days from when he was killed reguardles if you killed remains ?
If you ever see his remains (Venril Sathir's Remains) take a
close look at the head of the skeleton...
Its a FEMALE Iksar head... How can you tell? The females
have an extra "bump" or bone in the middle. If you don't
think so go look at the old model female Iksars heads and
compare them to the old model male heads and you'll see
what I mean. Kunark has been around 8 years and nobody ever
noticed this? The same is true on other Kunark era Iksar

Since spells were changed from ranks of spells to the present situation where you get new spells every level, "Spell: Resurrection" is now available to Clerics at level 47 rather than level 49 as written in just about every druid/ranger epic write-up I have seen.

I took a 71 warrior and a 72 bard and a 72 cleric and kicked his butt in about 10 minutes. camped bard re-logged ranger and now the waiting game begins for VSR.

Someone Killed VSR 4 Days ago and since then I havent got any spawn ... no VS and no VSR .. does anyone know the spawn timer afrer the VSR was killed?

Hey all who need to this part of thier epic ... I killed VS at 6:35pm on a Tuesday .. then at 6:35pm Wednesday no VSR .... kept waiting ... at precisely 7:35 pm he popped up =) Got my drops and my Ranger 1.0 is now complete got my swords tonight and very happy . 8 days total start to finish did box my 72 mage for PoH and PoSky but both drops went real well. Good luck to all the rest of you.

is this guy behind the locked area that EQ Atlas says he is (room #14, way in the back of castle)? And if so, who holds the key that I need to kill? Haven't seen any posts on locked doors. Can a rogue pick those doors?
no wasnt behind locked door, spawns in the room before the room where the real VS spawns.
Just did the turn in. Gave VSR the Summoned: Firefly Globe which spawned VS Spirit, gave him the lvl 47 rezz spell which spawned VS ( Lower lvl ). Was really quite an easy fight, I am not decked out with my toons and 3 boxed 64 Druid, 65 mage ( w/ 65 earth pet ) and 59 BST. Healed BST maybe 3 times during fight, was ALOT easier than the real VS. My nukes landed, DoTs landed wasnt highly MR. Just towards the end I noticed he went almost like into a frenzy state, but was only hitting for 100 to 300. He dropped 2 of the druid / ranger epic item. Hope this helps. Safe and Happy Huntings

Today I zoned into Karnor's Castle to kill VS. I found that Venril Sathir Remains were spawned. I gave him Firefly, then Venril Sathir Spirit Spawned I gave him the 49 Cleric rez spell. After that Venril Sathir Spawned and I opened up a can of WOOP A*S on him.
He dropped 2 of those green stones {you can only loot 1}, flame of Fennin and Blackened Iksar Bones {NO TRADE, LORE}
I never actually killed VS myself. I hope it does not mess up Epic. I don't think it will as I was able to turn the stone into Foloal in FV {she on the island}. Then I went to Burning Woods & turned in the stone Folaol gave me to Telin. He then gave me the Ancient Longsword.
I will update as I go along with Quest.

VSR spawns 24hours after the real VS is killed.....the night before i went for VSR and he despawned one me....and the real VS spawned...so i watched a group kill the real vs at 1:22am central and i logged on at 11pm and VSR was not up...waited till 1:22am got group together and bam VSR was up exactly at 1:22am so yes he is on a 24hour spawn after the real Venril Sathir is killed
either they ahve changed it or your wrong :( VS was killed today while i was camping the warlords room for my monk epic and VSR appeared on track almost straight after so he no longer on 24 hours spawn
yesterday i watched VSR get killed at 7 50am .. the next day VSR popped again at 7 50 am.
from that info i can assume that VSR is on a 24 hour spawn time, which is related to the real VS. if the Real VS is up , VSR cannot spawn. also, if the real VS is killed, VSR spawns 24 hours later.

I have read some of these posts and noted the 12 hour spawn theory. It is in fact NOT true. We killed VS at exactly 3:46pm, we came back at 3:25am and stayed until 4:20am, no VSR.
From the picture above you see VSR and VS's corpse. This may have been the way VSR spawned back in the day, but the fact is we have now killed VS 2 times and neither time has VSR spawned shortly after.
I am convinced that VSR spawns 22-24 hours after VS is killed. I do believe the rumor that VS is a 72 hour spawn, but the 12 hour VSR spawn is incorrect or at least is at this point in time.
I will update this when VSR is up.

I just wasted a VSR spawn. My first time doing a druid epic and when it came to the VSR part I was going off what it says on the top of this page:

This large skeleton is non-agressive, and apprears only when Venril Sathir is killed.
If a druid hands him a Globe of Fireflies (need confirmation - is this a Summoned: Firefly Globe?) then the 49 Cleric spell Resurrection he respawns into a lower level Venril Sathir that drops 2 stones, 1 of which is needed for the epic quest.
So I handed VSR the items and tank agroed. However what spawned after VSR hand in was Spirit of Venil Sathir. I have read nothing about SoVS.
Needless to say we killed it and nothing happened, no pulsing green stones on its corpse. It wasn't until after SoVS was dead that I found out that the rez spell scroll goes to SoVS, after the summoned stone goes to VSR.
Please do not make this same mistake and admin should really consider changing the ambiguous portion of this page at the top.

The spawned version of Venril Sathir is not hard at all. 65 Druid, 62 Warrior, and 53 Cleric, (3 boxed) took him down quite easily. Didn't know what to expect so everyone was buffed pretty well and had all the resist buffs the Druid had. This version of VS landed 3 of his lifetaps before the Warrior popped his Resistant Disc. After that the Lifetap never landed and the Druid burned him down easily. This guy still summons, but only the Druid got summoned, once. Cleric never came close to going lom. Hardest part of this encounter was getting there, because of the adds, and it was more of a nuisance than anything. Hope this helps those to know what kind of force to bring.

The reason it didn't work sounds like because you handed both items in at once. When you hand him the Firefly Globe, he turns into the Spirit of Venril Sathir, after which you hand him the Resurrection scroll and he spawns as Venril Sathir.

Thanks for the input. I would've screwed up trun-ins for sure. Anyhow I was notified by someone VS was taken out 11:00pm EST. I awoke the next morning and began the long camp. VSR spawned 11:30pm EST. Was taken down easily by 60 druid(photographer), 70 mage and 70 ranger. 7th hammer. GL to ya hunters this spawn sucked.

You all talk about strategy and whatnot, but where the heck is he after he spawns?
