I used to hate posts like this, but here goes...

I'm a level 40 monk. I've got about 850 AC and about 860 ATK (both going up stilll just dinged 40 and havent had many skill-ups yet). I've been soloing tribal gatherers (level 30-32) in Dawnshroud since level 35 with relative ease, but only about 1 in 6 is blue to me (I guess level 32 is the cut-off...).

From these posts I've garnered that they have about the same HP as a tribal gatherer, give or take 100hp.

Will I be able to solo these? I have a Goranga Spiked Club in primary (12/23) and Stave of Shielding in secondary, as well as Silver Chitin Handwraps.

Just wandering as my Rl bro a ranger asked me to help get him some skins can a 51st war solo these guys i am very perficient in soloing?

lol i swore i would leave when i killed the 50th one if i didnt get the guts...GUESS WHEN I GOT EM???? yeah thats right 49...but hey, thats my luck... and for those of you wondering, yes i did keep a tally sheet haha. i got real lucky too though, cause while i was camping them, a warrior on his way to SS for a raid ran into 2...pulled one while the other got stuck...he decided not to waste his time, and i was at half health...so i cast my cobalt guants spell on the one while it was walking back...gave it time to decrease his Str...(yeah that does help a lot too) then i wentin for the kill...boom he goes down, i lose little life and get my freakin 28th pelt lol...o yeah got the GUTS too. well thats about it...too bad i cant solo the monkey men for the stick, i guess thats what friends are for though...happy hunting.

Does anybody know what the raptor hides are used for?

...and I think I got lucky on the drop rate for the guts. I am currently a lvl 46 Cleric...with a full bar of mana I can solo two Tigeraptors in succession, or one Tigesaurous. I've found that the Tigesaurous' generally have about 1000hp more than the Tigeraptors, and they of course hit a bit harder...and seem to be a little more magic resistant. (Can't speak for other resists, since all my nukes are magic based)

Over a few hours I got 4 guts to drop. I remember the first being off a Tigeraptor...at the time I didn't know what it was for...so I looted it and ID'd it with my Silvery Mask and it said "Item Lore: Appropriate for fishing line". I didn't know what the quest was at the time...but kept it anyway. Then I got a second gut to drop...I can't remember which kind of dino the rest of the guts dropped from...but I want to say 'raptors dropped 3 and a 'saurous dropped 1, but it may be more like 2/2. Since the guts were lore, I announced the loc of the corpse to the zone, and someone ooc'd that they were on there way...never actually saw if it was looted or not. A third one drops, and I announced it to the zone again...then someone from my guild tells me they are for a melee bracer quest and to keep the guts since it can be multied...but someone was already on there way to loot it. When the fourth gut dropped, I happend to have my lvl 8 Mage camped nearby in the Geonid caves (don't ask), so I ran him over and looted it with him. So it would appear that I'm well on my way to getting some guildes some of these shackles...

Anyway, the Tigeraptors have roughly 1300hp, perhaps a little more, but no more than 1500hp. There are some of these that still con blue to me at 46. The Tigersaurous always con blue to me, and they have around 2500hp...I found them to be very similar to Frost Giant Scouts in difficulity, except they can hit a bit harder...I seems to recall them hitting me for over 100dmg at times. Also, these raptors drop hides which may be valuable to high lvl tailors (they make Ranger only armor, trivials above 250), so I'd like to suggest that you give/sell the hides to the nearest tailor...the hides are fairly easy to get (relatively) but every little bit helps. I hope this post helps someone.

If you are trying to loot the guts off of these beasts for the shackle quest in IC, go after the tigerSAURS they seem to drop the guts much more frequently. From what i hear, it is at least 1 for 2, but it is commonly 1 for 1. The saurs are a higher level, so just get a full group of high 30's to take 'em out. You might even want to get a group with mid 40's just to be safe.

Do they drop tiger guts all the time, or are they rare?

for those who dont know Monsrters in velious and Kunark are multi level OR in other words they con the sam for many many levels the Rhinos in Velious and probly in kunark are blue from level 35 to 55 so you get same xp all the way through so fighting Rapts and Saurs till they con green is a easy way to level
