When I was hanging around the gnoll camp in IceClad he swam up on shore and began eating the gnolls, well to make a short story shorter, by the time he finished chowing down on the gnolls he was around 50%hp. So jump in while he isn't attacking anything and it should be a breeze.
right before this sucker spawns, all the gnolls at the gnoll camp by tofs start bowing towards the ocean and say wierd shtuff. . . not sure what they say. . . but eh. . .
I was killing snow cougars by the millions last night, and right in the middle of finishing off one, this guy jumps me and kills me. I didn't even see or hear him coming. For those of you around the Tower of Frozen Shadow, KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED for him...

I am a 59 shaman and jsut took him down today. We had 1 level 60 tank one 57 monk 59 enc 60 mage 60 druid 60 cleric 60 wizard. he sapwned surprisingly. The enchanter tashed it and druid snared. Then i slowed it. One time and it worked, also i crippled it. He had high reistances cept for magic.I am lucky. i got the shell and the shield rules
I had just ported in with my lvl 46 warrior heading to ToFs when I saw a warrior and 2 clerics killing him. They where all lvl 60. It was pre-nerf of the Trakanon cleric BP. Complete healing every 30 secs. Not even Lodizal can do 6k dmg in 15 secs. The flipping warrior had 6k hps ;)..........This was prolly the reason they nerfed it the Donals BP :/
Killed corudoth tonight, Full group of 50+, once we got him down to 50% health he stopped attacking us, convenient, except that he started running and we had to finish beating on him while swimming for about 15 minutes. Lots of HP on him. Resisted all spells, couldn't even get a snare on him. After the fight he dropped not a single thing, not even 1cp for loot. Fun to have killed him either way though. Checked track for lodi after the kill for a few hours, no sign of him and corudoth respawned about an hour later. Don't waste your time with this annoying critter.
Corudoth is a quest NPC. He's level 5 or so, amazingly magic resistant, has a lot of HP, and hits very hard. He's not meant to be fought, and not meant to be killed. Gives no faction and no loot.
Two groups and myself took down Lodizal on Bristlebane today, after a dispute which a GM couldn't handle very well (no offense). Well after a half hour of kiting we were ready for Lodi, and finally took the beast down. As I looked at her limp body, sorrow had filled up in me...I liked turtles, but what this fellow had to offer, it didn't matter. Anyway, Lodizal dropped 2 Boots 1 Shield and 3 high level spells. I lost on the items, but I ended up with all the spells mwahaha...so I got something out of it. If your a high level, I highly recommend you get into a Lodizal group, she is very rewarding.
Jangles Shadowcast 49 Shaman of Bristlebane Crystalline Avengers
Well gratz to you Jangles bro. Gratz also on getting 50. What spells did you happen to loot off Lodizal? Hopefully I'll be seeing you on some of my guild's raids. Don't worry about killing the turtle duder, it'll be back wandering around during the next spawn. HEHE guilt free killing is a perk with EQ.
Killed him, hits of 300 points, MR is way high at 57 he wouldnt take any slows at all, had to melee him to death, one full group of 55+ and 4 53+ kill him. He ended up droping 2 Shammy spells lv 58 Can 4 and a lv 60 spell =) all in all he was a fun guy to kill no one died
I see some people post than Lodizal got full resist magic (snare, root, DoT, DD). This is not right, i'm druid 51 and we killed Lodizal last night. I cast snare 2 times on it, first time resisted, second time Lodizal was snared.
For DD, on 5 DD only one was resisted.
I don't tryed with DoT, but probably the same, they will take old.
LvL: 60 Dmg: Doubles 300 Spawns just south of the gnolls (located near Frozen Tower) on a large patch of glacier. One well built group of 55+ could take him down. His loots are very rewarding.
Shell (quest for Lodizal Shield) Piece of Map (Quest of Eyepatch of Plunder) Boots (AC, some stats, and right-click effect AC) Ring (Stats and right-click enduring breath) Belt (Stats and automatic fatigue regen) 59/60 Spells (Usually 2 will drop)
To the guy who said it jumped him for 1400 and bashed for 900. He was obviously not speaking of Lodizal in Ice Clad Ocean but Kelorek`Dar in Cobalt Scar. Kelorek`Dar is a sea dragon. There are no otters in Ice Clad Ocea, only Cobalt Scar ;p
Kelorek`Dar hits no were near for 1400 or bashes for 900..he has a cold AE that hits for 1000 and not sure how hard he melee's..something around 600 i would think, though wouldn't suprise me if he hit for max of 450's or 500's even. So whoever said he got jumped and got hit for 1400 and bashed for 900 was, i'm sorry, lying.
I agree Renovan, my logic is, if Kerafyrm hits for 1250, then no way does Kelorek'Dar hit for 400. Kerafyrm is nearly unslayable ( unless you can resist a DT ), so I'm pretty sure noone is more powerful than he.
From the sounds of it this beast is triggered never have i seen a spawn where npcs act before the spawn. I immagine that there is a trigger because to randomize a spawn like this is a programming nightmare. Its already somewhat random as is but to make its spawntime varying and random just sounds wrong. I think he has a regular spawn time just none have maped it yet or it is a triggered event. If this is the case i suggest talking to the otters and gnolls to get the answer on how to trigger the event. this may yeild more answers as to whether the mob is a normal spawn. I dont think it is personally i beleive it may be triggered and will look further into it if i find that it is i will post it here for all to know...

Actually, to truly produce a random number is a programming nightmare. Random number generators on computers are mostly based off of internal clocks. In the long run, one is able to isolate and pinpoint certain characteristics of the random number generator on a computer using a clock based system, thus it's not a truly random number generating system as one will be able to recognize tendencies. If you think some people aren't obsessive enough to isolate these characteristics... Look at Fires of Heaven's member section where they list their /played, one of them, can't recall which, had 260 days played, on a character that was almost two years old. Yes, that boils down to about eight hours a day, every day, for almost two years straight. Logistics calculations have been known to take far less time =p
The issue of random numbers was raised some time ago if EQ's random number generator was truly random, Absor himself said that the generator was clock based, but they've since changed it and have not indicated what their current logistics system is.
Now, mind you, all of this is for a TRULY random number. For spawns I don't think the programmers would be all that discriminating, like say the random numbers generated on items, where they would want it to be as random as possible as it has a pretty large impact on a character's acquisition of various things. (Let's face it, the average adventurer has gambled for the majority of his wardrobe =p)
Anyhow, to produce a truly random number is indeed a programming nightmare, and huge system overhead. When you had 30 or so people randoming after a COM raid on that moss no one can use (Why don't SKs ever come on COM raids?!) it would literally lag the whole server. Though, wouldn't be surprised if they settled for less and had a pseudo random number generator.
IF all mobs would be KoS to Lod, then you could gather up many dervs, dire wolfs and FGs and run near him and then port away couldnt you? Then port back and finish him when he was down alot of HP, still would need group though I guess but alot of easier. :)
I got to watch Lodizal spawn the other day. He spawns near the southern Gnoll camp by the Tower of Frozen Shadows. The gnolls started worshipping and preying for the 'great sea spirit' to not kill them. Concerned, I moved back out of the gnoll area to get a better look. Then noticed a giant turtle on top of one of the huts. He was fighting the gnolls one at a time. The 'Spiritweaver' (dont' remember exact name) gnoll gave him a run for his money, having a ton of hps and actually took Lodi down by 1/8th of his hps before getting killed. Lodi was indeed KOS to everyone and killed anyone who got too close. Luckily I had gotten out of the way as I was bound right under him from a ToFS raid the previous day. :( that would have just been bad. Lodi does NOT see through invis however. So I tagged along, keeping track of him for a high level guild I'd notified of his location. After killing all the gnolls Lodi wandered a bit north up the shore and basked a bit in the afterglow. Then he vanished. We paniced, thinking he had despawned, but instead he had returned to his spawn point just south of the gnoll village. He killed a bunch of level 50+s before he was taken down. He did not drop the shell piece that time. But he did drop the map, a ring, belt and boots I believe.
Does anyone know if there is a way to trigger Lodizar spawn? I know someone posted that his spawn time varies over a few weeks. It just seems that he is a quest mob, there might be a way to trigger his spawn.

I have a question... is it possible Corudoth makes Lodizal spawn? I have seen both turtles... Corudoth has alot of hpts... I didn't kill him, but I was wondering what he drops... Lodizal kicked my **** in 10 seconds flat. Someone who has killed Corudoth please respond to this message.
Corudoth drops nothing important, just a couple foragable items. I think he has some connection to making Lozidal pop but he has 32khp or so, so he's a little bit of a pain. Nothing cool droped though.
Xuasia Sharpfist 50th Iksar Monk Vitality of Quellious Server
