52 warrior, 55 mage, 55 druid, 54 monk, 54 cleric, and 65 warrior. Even con to a lvl 55. Took us 3 hours to clear our way to the top, but the fight wasn't too hard. He CH's though so make sure to bash alot. Dropped torch of the elements (mage epic piece), and tunares request (druid spell).
Is it strategically possible, for a Troll SK, a Mage, a Cleric, a Druid, and an Enchanter-all in early 50's-to get to and succesfully battle the Iskar? ( plus maybe one Paladin or Beastlord Shaman)
does she spawn in the same place Lord Ghiosk spawns? where all those black reavers spawn? if not, where exactly, what loc / which building, wutever...i kno from other posts how many and what lvls/classes to kill her, but where, time, and PHs is the question
#REDACTED,
Posted:Jan 02 2003 at 3:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) He spawns in roughly the same area. Any one of the reavers can be a place holder for him. So if he is not there then go a reaver-wackin and he should show up soon.
No he doesnt...the reaver that spawns ghiosk will not spawn neh'ashiir. So just going reaver whacking won't work. You have to fight your way to the top (a lot of clearing) and the reaver at the top will spawn neh'ashiir. Be aware though that like the reaver below you may have to fight through multiple consecutive reaver spawns until neh'ashiir spawns. However he will be indifferent when he does spawn so you can turn in whatever it is for shaman epic. So don't listen to the idiot who posted before, because my guild has killed him 3 times for my mage epic. For god sakes people please dont post because you might know, please post from personal experience. /sigh
according to the shaman epic walkthroughs, neh'ashiir is a woman, she is the wife of rak'ashiir (unless rak likes the same sex =\ ). thought id give yas a little info, if ya care anyway, doesnt matter just some useless info =) happy huntin
The picture on this page shows him as a male iksar. Female (old model) iksar have three round knobs pointing behind on their head. I don't really know the background stories, so I cannot comment on epic walkthroughs.
Well you never know with VI they probly to cheap to make a female ikky ghost so they just used male. Maybe try /s to see what it is the next time u are there.
Looking for info on spawn time also. Took 2 groups up here to camp Jaxion for my epic and we killed the reaver in the last tower that popped Neh two reavers later. About 20 or so minutes later, Jaxion popped so we didn't wait around for the reaver to respawn. Anyone have any clue? Would really like to get myself a shield. Neh dropped the shield for us btw, but I lost random. ;)
regular mobs may be 15 mins, but the black reaver that spawns Neh' Ashiir is 2 hours. I'm camping my 6th round now for the mage epic. All She drops is the dumb ranger staff. sigh...
Raid CoM lastnight "For the second time in my eq life" and got this key. Do any of you know what this key is for? Its a no rent item so we all know what happens when you log...
Never seen it my self, but considering the fact that Torsis is the real name of CoM, i would believe this key opens the locked doors and activates the elevators within the castle.
Killed Neh`Ashiir tonight. She dropped Torch of Elements, and a key.... Key of Torsis ... NO RENT not nodrop/lore. Anybody know what this key is for? Perhaps part of Vex Thall key quest?
Was just wondering the spawn time... cuss next time i lead a raid there for my epic drop from Neh Ashir i want to camp for next span... we have raided there 4 times and a dang shield everytime... BAH... But first raid i won sheild so i guess im good... any info would be appreciated thanks....
I just completed my shaman epic lastnight, and after handing in kirns ring to Neh' Ashiir and killing her she dropped BOTH my epic piece AND the torch for the mage epic! So, this proves that both can be done at the same time. We had one happy mage with us! 58 Shaman of Torv

Posted:Nov 22 2001 at 2:03 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) the mages epic part is killing him and not hand anything to him to get the torch and to get the sham epic part you have to turn in a item so if you were wonderen why he wouldnt drop torch he will never drop it if you hand in an item to him so kill him while hes dubiously and hell drop the torch randomly and if you turn in the sham piece hell drop the shield and sham epic piece so if you were trying to figure that out thats how you get it Gluck on your epic quests.
We did it with 1 group of well displinned people wasnt hard wasnt easy, although this was also the same group of people that took 2 groups to kirn and back(hole)
Since everyone their eye on Neh, figured this would be the best place to post info on city of mist. =)
Raided this tonight, and this zone is probably the most fun I've ever had playin' EQ, but... It's crazy, so here's a few guidelines.
The City of Mist is essentially two zones, one laid over the other. On the ground is your standard buildings and what not, there's a castle you go into... and then you pass through a hidden wall. The hidden wall leads you up onto a transparent walkway which ascends skyward. Wrapping around almost the entirety of the zone is another set of buildings above the City of Mist itself.
Getting up to this without single pulling Neh is... difficult at best. The lower area of the city of mist (And the upper, but the spawns are fewer and far between) are a mix of undead and living. Both the undead and living are highly aggressive, hence the issue. Inserting a raid, or even a party, into the deep areas of CoM is borderline impossible. (Though, anything is possible.) If you can't single pull Neh then you have to bust through the entirety of the zone, which is far from hard if you have the caliber of group(s) to take down Neh, but it's exceedingly time consuming. A wipeout is incredibly time consuming. If your clerics die, it's also incredibly time consuming given the incessant amount of time spent on corpse retrieval, then rebreaking.
Call of the Hero could be put to quite good use here with a well placed gravity flux... But not everyone has a few 55+ mages hanging around. =P
The other major issue when breaking is the zone itself. The pathing on the lower level of City of Mist (Just like most 3d zones, like Kedge) is just TERRIBLE. I've never seen such bad pathing at work. We had a particularly bad wizard on the raid who was quite prone to overnuking, when she would the goos/bones etc would break off of the tank, run the opposite way of the wizard, and then swing back around. She stayed alive because of it, but numerous times this brought along ads or just ugly trains.
Likewise, when you're pulling to clear an area and the mob runs the opposite way of you, stand and die. It's FAR better to have one person die than 12-20. I watched with my very own eyes as our puller attempted to pull a mob in front of us, directly, and watched the mob immediately turn around and then come running back with 10 or more of their friends. For pullers, it's not a bad idea to escort your pulls back, don't let the pathing go crazy on ya, take a few hits coming back, to save you a bunch of hits in the future. =)
Also, if you are inserting the good ol' fashioned way into COM upper, you're going to need a rogue. Make sure that your rogue has two sets of lockpicks on them, and then have the rogue duel someone, die, and leave the other set of lockpicks on his dueled body. Should you have a wipeout you won't have to send a druid/wizard off to fetch some lockpicks, this can hold your raid down for an hour or more.
Now, as for the upper areas themselves they are quite straightforward, at least deceptively so at first. =)
Have levitate on at all times, don't get lazy, bring yourselves tons of batwings, and a mage who can summon a few rings for everyone, so that if a meleers lev is going midcombat, he doesn't have to ask for it and be missed, and then potentially fall off to his death. The fall from Kael ramp in EW looks to be about half of the height of falling from the top of City of Mist, so, if you fall off from non-glux then you'll probably be taking 10k, 20ish if there wasn't a cap. =P That's right a fall from COM could possibly KOS Nagafen if he took falling damage =P (if that doesn't convince you to always have lev on, I dunno what will.)
As an enchanter I paid a lot of attention to the z-axis and the things below to see how area effect spells would work. To be honest, I don't recommend using AEs up top. Most monsters below don't appear to have a direct pathing route underneath the catwalks, but it's just not a bright idea if you color flux or AE mez a mob hundreds of feet below you.
The fight with Neh and the black reavers up top are incredibly interesting. The black reavers (and Neh) are almost 100 percent magic resistant. People say the same thing about dozens of monsters, for example the Ry'gorr emissary. I've had dozens of spells stick on the Ry'gorr emissary, with a tashania I couldn't even get a root to stick on the reavers.
Thus, to interrupt the various casts you'll encounter, you'll need to bash... But bashing will knock them back, possibly over the edge... Which will cause a HUGE train upon their return, and Neh will begin to summon people from below.
If any mob up top gets knocked off, immediately camp, first thing you do before you even see them hit the ground is hit that camp key.
The best thing is of course to avoid this, make sure all your tanks know when to pull mobs back. And they need to do it QUICKLY because if you don't, that will be non bashing time, which means better casting time. You need to be precise here.
Also, this is an absolute must, several of the boss mobs, including reavers blind. The blindness is bad, when combined with the fact you are hundreds of the feet in the air, it's even worse, it's like they are popping you with a 20k nuke. =P If you're hit by a blindness, stop... Stop moving, don't do anything until the blindness stops. If you hear a screaming sound, then a splat, ok, it's time to curse. But the absolute best thing to do is let the blindness do itself, and keep your hands as far away from your movement keys as you can. =)Now, if you're a meleer, this is gonna present some issues, as if you are still getting hit while blind (Which is a probability considering you were high enough on the hate list before) Then you need to listen for damage. Recall where you were before, if you were close to the edge behind you then you need to periodically move forward a bit to account for bashes. Only a little bit, or you will fall to your death. If the edge was in front of you, then just sit tight and hope for the best. Mind you, if you're prone to whirling when stunning, that is going to be a problem, and if you're worried about that, then just sit tight and hope the other tanks can taunt it off of you so you don't get bashed off.
One other issue, the room where Neh appears in, the last room, has a false bottom just underneath the outcropping in the center of the room. It's quite easy to fall through, and even with lev, there's a buttload of monsters beneath. If you're a caster, try to gate while you float down, if you're a meleer, page up until you are facing straight up to stop you from falling as fast from lev, and try and run as far as possible, you won't be getting back up any time soon.
Anyhow, good raiding in City of Mist, never been to a place like it, and I can only hope that they repeat such creativity in Luclin. =)
I was watching as a friend of mine and his guild took on Neh. The majority of the city of mist was soloable, since they were mid to high 50s. The dangerous part wasn't Neh. Verant had some fun making this zone. heh All a group has to do is bring the tanks. All of em. This zone is easily in hand afterward. I think aside from that greater warbone skele, the Reavers/Neh are the only thing to give problems. She con'd 54 or 55.
We killed the queen three times last weekend and got the torch every time, but no shield. Sounds like maybe Verant has figured out a way to determine what you're camping for, allowing them to drop everything but what you want! LOL
Well FOOK! I am doing my Epic quest and we have killed Neh'Ashirr 4 times trying to get my torch of the elements. All 4 times it was the dang shield... although, i did win the shield once so it wasn't a complete loss. You people are talking like the torch is common and I don't see that as true.
Crap, whats with all these people getting torch drops like they are free!! I've killed Neh"Ashiir like 6 times now, 2 on big raids, and 4 times bringing my own small group of 5 or less. Not a single Torch yet !! crap, cant get a brake on this guy !!
I've heard of people who know a way to Pull the Lord from all the way up top of the city without going through the entire zone to get to her. Anyone know how this can be done?
wizard/enchanter lvl39 spell named gravity flux... launches the person hit a billion feet in the air on impact... get a running start and blast a monk up there... doesn't do much dmg especially since monk has safe fall.... =D
Gravity flux is an excellent spell for vertical travel...its actually 44 for us wizards. If you intend to use it in this way, have the subject seriously reduce their MR but moving gear ino the inventory (at 52 I am constantly resisting my own G Fluxes and have to resort to dismissing my familiar and dropping Arch Shield)
No deaths on last run. Took us 3 tries to get up to the top because someone wanted to try to agro everything and AE it, hehe. Would have worked, but our mage went LD and we couldn't do it without him. He came back just in time to see the last person go down to the only mob left standing. Everyone had pretty much average gear for a small guild. No epics.
Its all about the planning. You need good tanks and good clerics. Neh was non-aggro as long as you don't AE or anything. We cleared EVERYTHING in the tower before touching her. Then we took her easily with no deaths. Groups were: G1-60 war, 51 cler, 45 druid, 55 mage, 58 cler G2-60 war, 48 war, 55 wiz, 51 cler, 55 rogue Just start the melee, bash/push her to the wall and commence to beating the crap outta her. Have 2 healers in the group with the MA and you got yourself a shield. BTW one of the above posts is incorrect, we did not turn in anything but the shield dropped, the torch did not.
Good Hunting Goldain Iceblade 48 Warrior on Prexus
if you have a puller and chanter with some balls you can have your first neh dead in 30 minutes from entering the zone. if you keep tight and keep focused most 55+ groups can do this. Plus, it's damn good xp up top= )
First off it's just Neh'ashiir, not Lord neh'ashiir and it's a lady =P Second you need to have a serious whoopass raid going on that can do reavers easily or you will not get all the way up to neh'ashiir.
Neh'ashiir is basically the same as Lord Rak'ashiir in that she casts flux, wiz spells, and complete healing. Your only hope of interrupting her complete healing is bash skill and damage dealing. You need to fight the reaver and neh'ashiir either in her room or in the previous building in the sky. Wraith of jaxion spawns close so you might want to kill the roamers outside the neh'ashiir reaver building for your enchanter.
Neh'ashiir drops a page of her diary for the shaman epic quest ONLY when you turn in the item that the sentinal spirit gave you when you turned in the ring from kirn. I believe Neh'ashiir respawns after you turn in the item as agro, either case she will attack the closest person after the shaman turned in their item. If neh'ashiir falls off the path onto the ground you might as well have everyone camp out and wait for neh'ashiir to return to her spawn point or she will start summoning people and killing them off one by one.
Neh'ashiir's common is the ornate rune shield, and her rare is the woodsman staff, very very nice ranger 2hb that a ranger would probably prefer to use over 2 lamentations depending how low thier sta and str is. Remember if you have any trouble at all killing reavers then you will probably lose against neh'ashiir as neh is slightly harder in difficulty than a reaver and does a blind+snare proc as well. Neh'ashiir like other lvl 51+ kunark mobs drops lvl 55+ spells sometimes but not frequent enough to camp her specifically for spells.
your posting wrong info here accrding to the walkthrough, I have obtained my ring from high scale kirn and am getting ready to raid CoM next week for my epic so i am very concerned about what people say you need to do you say
"Neh'ashiir drops a page of her diary for the shaman epic quest ONLY when you turn in the item that the sentinal spirit gave you when you turned in the ring from kirn."
Belagrs says Kirn's Ring "Return to the City of Mist and give Kirn's Ring to Neh'Ashiir"
So wich is it? Do you have your spear of fate? If belgars was wrong I think shaman community would be screaming at him for posting wrong info. I think you are wrong cause the quest dialouge tells me to take ring to Neh, these details are essential, what if I do give my ring to the truespirit in EJ, I'm fuxored by you and needing to return to the lamest part of the quest again. Please be more careful in your posting and reply if belgars is wrong.
Neh Ashiir can be taken out easy with 2 groups of 50-60 He spawns in the last house on the Sky Bridge and has a 2 hour spawn time. He can be a Cleric and Shammy and is highly MR except to the Lure line. Problems you will encounter is that he casts Blind and also will heal himself once he gets to about 1/4 HP. The PH for him is a Black Reaver and up to 7 can pop in a row if you are trying to get him to spawn. He is non KoS except to those in Wolf Form. This is important because if you are fighting a bunch of Reavers in a Row then you can med after he spawns. Also Shammy FA requires that you give him an item to drop another item and he will also still drop his Rare or Common drop along with Kirn's Diary. Common drop is Ornate Runed Sheild +9 INT + 15 AC + 10 Mana +5 SV all resists. Rare drop is the Torch for the Mage FA quests. It is kind of debatable whether ORS or Torch is common but in the 5 times we've killed him he has dropped Torch 3 times and ORS twice. Not too bad of a fight if you keep your heads cool and keep casting Runes on Tanks.
ok here we go, for one its not LORD neh a'shiir just Neh A'shiir. and YES "she" is part of shammy epic, you dont turn s#it to spirit after kirn fight. go right to her and give her the ring.(use identify = Promiss of neh`a'shiir) =P neh is cheating on rak(tell em hell kill her for you) =x but seiously she is lvl 53 no higher /lower wizard who has CH pots (use stun spells, bash etc) shouldn't be to hard normal kunark mob 2group of 52+ can do. im off to do her tonight ;) GL to all u future epic shammys!
We took Lord Neh down last night. He was an even con to a lvl54. So he's either lvl54 or varies a bit. I see no loot is posted, but he does drop some interesting things...
