As a 28 monk I came back to Lake of Ill Omen, since most of the higher roaming mobs are blue and all soloable at that level. My personal experience with these is pretty bad, the level range is wrong for they must be up to 26, hitting for 54. They tend to cut right through the AC too, unlike the warlords, recruits, and skeletons that I soloed then, which don't connect with me much at all. They also fight till the death, which makes it a pain to fight them. Not running loses me 1/2 to 1 bub of hp more than a running mob would have taken.
they maybe easy now and then but mostly i a paladin cannot and will not solo them for i am only 18 and even with a group they can cause problems because they wonder alot where i fight by skelly ruins in LOIO
Nah just wait a few lvls they get easy I'm lvl 26 and i can solo at least 3 of them single handedly without having to sit and med! Sinosense 26 Paladin Rallos Zek
These are easy to solo. My lvl 24 ranger can solo these and i only lose about half my health and 3/4 my mana. Just root, ignite, fill it with arrows, root again when needed and melee it when running low on mana.

The exp just came flowing in, just snare your pet dot and snare the mob your gonna kill and let him go! I got to lvl 26 in about 2 hours using this strategy. Good luck and try it all you druids, awesome exp, and you can send them into the fort and they can take 2 sarnaks at a time, just wait till he dies, then zone, its great!

Was bored last night on my way back to the Mill and decided to fear kite one of these. Worked great. Am a lvl 26 Ranger. Cast snare, root, panic animal. filled him with arrows and cast ignite. I never got below 3/4 health and he was dark blue to me. Just keep reapplying snare, root and panic animal when he breaks.

These kittys pack a punch for sure, I havnt solo'ed em yet but im sure there good exp, If you hit a group make sure to have a healer cus these kittys hit over 50
Wow, talk about one of the easiest MoBs in LOIO besides the Warrior/Warlord Gobs! With my 25 Bard with 630hp i could take one of these down and i would only be at half health, and they were even/blue to me then. At 27, they almost never resist anything including Fear,Charm,Chains,Bellow, and Mez. Very easy kill.
around this level, a bard should not be getting hit. BTW.... I mean I only have like a 13 bard, but even at like level 4 I could run a whole new person zone, and thats before solo's crasendo... or whatever its spelled. so... yea. how about 100% health? especially if they are not resisting anything and you have a snare...
round em up. 3... 4... 5... 12 of em. Twist a little snare and some DD in there.
manual twisting is :
hit song 1. · the moment its done 'casting' the icon appears · hit 1 again to stop singing/playing it (or any spell gem actually) · then RIGHT AWAY hit song 2 · again, the MOMENT you see the icon, you should now have 2 blinking · stop the song by hitting a song gem · start third and so on.
GAH i cant stand theese when i solo with mym wiz i've been takkin them once sence 21-24 teh pain is that there MR is very high so my FS never worked when does it? =P but one thing that works very well against them is FIRE i'vve casted around 150 times with my fire spell and i've had about 2-3 full resists lighting isnt to bad either ice isnt all that supper though, stick to fire with theese. and becafrefull with rooting them root sucks as it is because it lasts for 5 secs and is resisted a lot but with theese its awful dont try to solo theese wit out SoW or yull be toast cuz they can duble in the 50's careful peeps, rember magic spells onyl give them some minor static cling.
Boy..if you are going to charm these guys leave yourself ALOT of room. if they break before the mob is dead( which happens often) you will get thrashed in a hurry by 2 angry mobs. leave enough room to get another charm spell off before they are on you. I am a 25 druid ..soloing tons of high blues around the mill in LOIO...usually takes like 1.5 to 2 bubs of mana. Saw one of these at about 50% mana, full hp. Figured "Easy, right?" Wrong. Was out of mana before I new it, snare drops and this thing is kicking my *** with consistant hits around 50. Couldn't get off another spell. Dead Druid. Just be careful charming these things.
Sorry, bout that, hehe. Anyway, I swatted these around at 30 and they were still good exp. They fight hard though. They never ran from me when they were low on health, they always fought to the death. They dropped a little coin (i mean very little) but I did see a lot of pelts ranging from Medium and HQ to Excellent Sabertooth hides.
Once I hit 26 with my barb rogue I started soloing these guys, they con blue but don't be surprised if you lose a few matches here and there, I have 663hp and after the first fight I left with only 51, they are pretty nasty.
These kitties love to hear Selons charm song, their eyes glaze over and if you ask them nicely they will shred sarnaks, goblins and iskars for you. Mind you those bones on warbone skeletons are hard on kitty's claws and they sometimes lose the fight - so charm the bones instead. Once the opponent is dead scare the kitty with screech, chain it and run after it, hitting it with sharp objects as you go. Lots of nice safe xp for bards level27-28
Has anyone seen any excellent sabretooth tiger hides drop from these (or any other tigers in the lake of ill omen)?
I remember seeing about one excellent hide drop for every 5 or so regular hides from the sabretooth tigers and tigresses in the overthere (the 30's ones), but so far I have only seen regular sabretooth tiger hides drop from them...
Edit: Well, this morning I answered my own question. Out of 36 sabertooth grimalkins I saw one excellent sabretooth tiger hide drop.
Mithril reinforced armor--cultural tailoring for wood elves. It's great for tailoring practice past skill 131, since it's cheaper and the components are easier to collect than components for velious tailored items (with the possible exception of othmir fur caps, but then you're wrecking othmir faction).
Imbued boots may even sell for a decent profit. (I'm not attempting imbued mithril reinforced armor until ordinary mithril reinforced goes trivial though.)
Found that spell in kelethin's druid guild. It wasn't in the ranger guild. This spell owns animal =) But let me tell you this, as a 23 wood elf ranger, when meleeing yellow con grimalkin, they have been resisting quite a few times the panic spell. They also resist snare like 1 out of 5 times or so.
After I post this message while I was bored in Study Hall at school I turned to Webster to find out what Grimalkin means! A cat; especially, an old female cat.
kitty's might be easy to kite but if you try normal melee you got more of a fight then you might want. the lvl24's are stronger then the sarnak recruits, by far. with high lvl cleric buffs on my lvl26 warrior i had 1300hp, one of these kitty's took me down to 2bub hp left.
I must agree!! I am a 26 Cleric, and I have several friends who are 22 lvl, a ranger a monk and a wizzy. WHile waiting for a full group the monk and I jumped on one of these guys (he was blue to me). Well I had FM, and by the time the fight was over I was OOM and meleeing this kitty with the monk. We killed it but we were both like JEEZ! no more of those till we get a few more.
Malius Malificarum Warrior Priest of The Sanguine Crusaders
These guys are more like level 23-26...hit pretty damn hard and have a lot of hp. Low MR though, and attacks slow enough that you can usually channel through a root or a snare or something. I've seen only one out of maybe 50 grimalkins drop a fang; don't count on it.
These things are very easy, I attacked them as a lvl 22 mage with an earth elemental. he took all the damage and i nuked the hell outta them. Good exp and the confidence of killin yellow and red cons is great.
