Quest no longer working

He is not currently accepting the Iksar Shadowknight coin to advance the sword quest. He just hands it back saying that he has no use for this item when kneeling by the rock at night.

Are you doing this quest on a progression server before GoD has opened?

Now that the "good" elves have been evicted and have displaced the drolvargs from the eastern ruins, this guy hangs out there during the day. My iksar has managed to get to dubious faction with them, so I was able to go watch his movements.

During the day, if he's not already hanging out near the cliffs (like, when he respawns after someone does the iksar SK quest), he hangs out inside the main hallway, at pos 670, neg 2380. This form was dubious to me and when hailed gave the emote, "Tracker Azeal looks over at you and gives you an awkward smile, then quickly looks away. You notice he isn't like most of the elves you've seen. You can't quite put your finger on it, but for one thing he smells like he hasn't bathed in weeks."

At about 8:45pm GT he despawned and reappeared in the same place, and was now indifferent to me. He immediately started walking out of the outpost. At the exit, he said "I'm going to start my patrol. I'll report back by morning." Then he took off running more or less to the spot people are used to finding him at, though he actually hits the cliff a little to the west and then scoots over to neg 2560, neg 1520, where he kneels (which is the signal the earlier quest text said to watch for). He got there at about 9:30pm GT. In this form he does not respond at all to hails.

I tried leaving him alone (didn't trigger the switch to his iksar form) and he stayed there until shortly after 5pm (yes pm), at which point he got up and walked back along his route to return to the fort, then ran all the way through the hall and got close enough to some NPC who aggroed on me so I lost track of him. Soon after, he showed up back in his glowering form inside the hallway, and as it was by then about 8pm it wasn't long before he switched back to indifferent and set off again. (But I know earlier I found him dubious in the hall at 11am.)

i am a lvl 11 ikky that got to this point in the khukri tasks. I received the task from my ikky gm and the coin, so i get to the spot where he is kneeling <yes he is indifferent> and try to give him the coin but he gives it back saying "i dont need this right now, u can have it back"<or what evers he says>...??
Maybe 11 is too low yeah? I am too lazy to petiton, so maybe i wuill get to 21 and try again, it shouyld be ezier then... oh yeah i had a 62 clr with me that came in handy to rez me the 5 times i died from the butterflies and pilgrims, he was handy for his clicky and temp, but went oom after killin the mobs that killed me and from temping me

About Azeal ...

I do not often post to boards like these, but in this case I must speak out. I am much distressed by what I have read here regarding Tracker Azeal's secret Iksar identity.

You see, my wood-elf druid once had a love affair with Tracker Azeal. I spent several weeks soloing drolvargs on the plains above the outpost, and I would often come across Azeal as he crouched before his rock. We two were the only people for miles, and on those lonely plains we sought out each other's company, often coming together to share our meals or to share stories about our adventures. And as the weeks passed and we grew closer, we ended up sharing something more ... two lonely wood-elves, far from our homes, seeking comfort in each others' arms.

Or so I thought.

In retrospect, I should have been able to guess that there was something ... not quite right ... about Azeal. But if he was a bit strange, I figured that the long months alone in the wilderness might do that to anyone; and as for the funny smell, well, we all get a little stinky when we're out in the wild lacking the luxury of hot baths, don't we? I did find it odd that he would remove no more of his armor than necessary, though, and his hands, when he touched me, were quite cold and scaly, but I simply guessed that he had a rash from the cold winds that swept those seaside cliffs.

I feel now like a fool for not realizing the truth, and I am quite bitter that Azeal tried to decieve me. But I am not angry for the reason you might think. The truth is ... I'm really disappointed!! I think Iksars are MUCH HOTTER than boring old wood-elves ... and to think, I was with one and didn't even KNOW!!!!

If only Azeal had trusted me enough with his secret, the fire between us might have burned much more brightly ... as it is, the flames died down, as they always do, and I left Firiona Vie in search of new hunting grounds. Upon my departure we mused about maybe seeing each other again someday, but knowing what I know now, if I were to see that sneaking liar Azeal again, all I would give him would be a good *bonk* on his scaly Iksar head.

I'm now headed for The Overthere. I hear the Sarnaks there are kinda cute ...

Tracker Azael is back in his rightful spot by the rock, as of 14th August 2002.

Whilst Tracker Azael is level 45, when he respawns as Hero Goxnok he is mid-20s. The Drachnid spy is also mid-20s.

From what I have heard (and seen) looks like the khukri quest is broken for the time being. Heard that VI tried modifying it and deleted the whole thing. They placed the tracker in the outpost to cover it up. I guess RPing wise, he is taking a break from his job. Hope Vi fixes it soon.

Tracker Azreal is part of an Iksar Shadow Knight Quest. Sometimes he really is Tracker Azreal, other times he is an Iksar Shadow Knight in disguise. The only way to tell the difference is the way that he con's to an Iksar weather it be Indifferent or KOS. I am hoping soon to run into him myself!

Hailing Azeal
# Jan 12 2001 at 12:52 AM Rating: Decent
I /hailed Tracker Azeal the other day. He didn't say anything, but a big long message about how he acted funny and didn't quite smell right came up. Anyone know what's up with him?

The reason he acted funnay and smelled funny was because he was an Iksar named Gloxnok in disguise. He is part of an Iksar Shadow Knight Quest. You need to give him a coin that Gloxnok gives you when you start the quest, but unless you're an Iksar SK then don't worry about it. I'm the one who has to worry about it.

LOL Everything in FV hates wolf form. I learned this at level 24 when a drixie attacked me and I tried running to the guards. Doh. Then a CR in wolf form didn't help. Taught me not to use wolf form unless I am way far away from teh drixies.
