Group setup: 89 War/Clr/Enc/Rng/Brd with a journeyman cleric.
Formed the group at the base of the pyramid Al'kabor is on. He is pullable after the hail. He goes through a fairly long conversation and turns into a skeleton when he's ready to pull (the quest also will update when the conversation is complete).
As the previous comment, he's not any tougher then trash mobs, the key is surviving the dots while burning him down. They only fired once each, pretty close together before he died. I DI'd the group, and everyone's DI fired on the cold DD AE. The war is at 45khp/1925ac with just about 2k aas and her DI fired on the cold DD.
Pulled to the base of the pyramid with the Warrior's bazu roar. Al'kabor came right down, Warrior popped Furious disc, jeer, and Intensity of the Resolute immediately. Bard popped epic 2.0 and puretone. Ranger popped Auspice and Guardian. Right as Furious faded, started Final stand disc. AE's fired off, DI fired, cleric and cleric merc healed through and he was dead. Less then 30 second fight, Warrior did about 350k damage, Ranger was about 175k, and Bard/Enc was about 100k each. Very quick and brutal fight, but very doable in era if you prep and have the discs up. The AE's are no joke, no time to cure, just heal your backsides off. Good luck!

Previous Appearances: Al'Kabor has previously appeared in the Dreadlands and Iceclad Ocean as part of the war between the forces of Firiona Vie and Lanys T`Vyl in January/February 2005.
In Al'Kabor's Nightmare: Currently, he appears to be stuck in his own nightmare. You encounter and fight him in the group mission "Catastrophic Power" as well as the raid expedition "At World's End" (see the links for event and loot information).
In the Combine Dredge: Al`Kabor appears in the mission "Deep Lies the Snow" (see this quest entry for details).
In Arx Mentis: Al`Kabor (click for map image) is found in the eastern part of the zone-in area. He also appears in the missions "All Rivers Lead to the Sea" (see this quest entry for details), "The Cost of Balance" (see this quest entry for details), and "Confronting Calix" (see this quest entry for details). He also appears throughout the raid zone (see this quest entry for the raid expedition overview).
