hmm, were to start. I have several characters, woodelf ranger gets no agro from den mother, even though he's killed her quite a few times. High elf chanter, gets agro. iksar bst doesn't. sk oger does. dwarf pally didn't till he killed 4 grizzly's. Got attacked by her while fighting the fifth, Finished off the fifth just in time to use the ot hammer to get out before she killed me. grizzly's are a -5 to residents of the glade. Killin 5 would be -25. I have since gotten at least 100+ faction for the glade, and that is +1 at a time. and she still attacks me. What do you have to do to get her off your back. Can it be undone?
Merc journeyman no buffs except haste and talisman of the lynx.Me lvl 81 shaman.
Saw her running and aggroed me started fight. She hits so hard drops my mercs hp by 20-30% in a few hits. Had to keep spamming heal to finally survive her long barrage of attacks and finally i win with no mana left. Overall:not worth killing.
I despise this mob, being only 72, shes going to make me her whipping boy. There is no logic to her other than the 'Tracking' explained below. When you kill an animal, watch for her. She jumps out after a kill.
Every time I zone and kill one mob, she comes running. But she has never agro'd me. Can kill and loot under her feet and she just stands there. She is Amiable to my Druid.
Just some observations. This mob does not seem to agro normally. I've had her run towards me while in a number of different locations in the zone, once even while selling stuff at the fort (came running through the doors at me). She doesn't actually go on your agro table until *after* she gets close to you, but she seems to "track" you from anywhere in the zone. My theory is that if she's spawned, she will investigate any animal corpses left lying about (bears at least, perhaps wolves or others as well). She will first run to that mob's corpse and then track whoever killed it, agroing once she gets within range. The theory is based on some observations. I was killing mobs in the south part of the zone (trying to spawn poachers). I had been looting the corpses completely, but at a certain point got full and was leaving the less valuable stuff on them. At some point I saw her running towards me. I moved away, but instead of her changing course to me, she ran directly to where the corpse of the mob I'd just looted was. She paused there for a few seconds and then began running directly at me.
It's possible that as long as you clean up your mobs (ie: loot them fully) she wont come after you (unless you just happen to stumble onto her of course). The idea that she tracks rather than agros is based on another occasion in which she came running towards me and engaged (like she does), but I noticed that she was already about 70% health. If she was agroing on me, she should have summoned me from across the zone, but didn't. She only started summoning after she got into melee range with me. Yet something caused her to run across the zone to get to me. That and the observation about her running to the corpse first and then to me makes me think that the corpses are somehow related. And frankly, it makes sense. I never noticed before because I'd always been roaming around killing stuff while trying to complete other quests. So if my theory is correct, she'd already found a corpse I'd left somewhere and was tracking me. But when I was hunting just in one area, I was able to actually witness her finding the corpse and then tracking me.
This also explains why she would camp a FD monk. She's not following you because of agro. She's tracking you. The reported behavior of running away and then back might be her loosing your scent when FD, then running to the nearest corpse to regain it, then tracking you. Loosing the scent again, and repeating the process. Again, I suggest the key is to fully loot corpses if possible.
I just encountered her twice. I'll let you guess the score... One thing I noticed : she spawned twice right after I killed a bear. The second time, I ran away until I outrun-ed her. A few seconds later, she poped on me.
My experience is slightly different than Gbaji's. Like others said before, it seems that she always spawns right after I kill something (whether it's a bear or a rat). It seems that she does, indeed, track the dead animal's corpses. From now on, I will only kill animals on an open area, and wait a moment before looting corpses, so she doesn't jump right on me while I'm looting.
Also, if you are a mere shaman level 75 (or so like me), using virulent paralysis might help us to escape... Heh.
Just wanted this on the record... words cannot express how i hate this mob. Very difficult to quest in this zone when this thing keeps chasing you down, very time consuming killing it often.
Camped at crossroads area in south end of OGH. The spot where road runs north and south, but also has a brance heading east towards zone to west karana. There is a big pointed stone sitting at these crossroads for reference. I set up there with my 77 Druid & T1 tank merc boxing 77 Enchanter with T1 cleric merc to kill spawns all around in order to get poachers to spawn for the "Poaching the Poachers" quest. Each set of repops of spawns required that I kill alot of bears, both infected and normal, as well as "opening" the diseased mobs laying around. The Brown Bear Denmother seemed to spawn each cycle that I killed alot of bears in that area. She popped at or very near that crossroads camp each time. She is on good terms with animal types like rangers, druids, and BLs...but would attack my Enchanter if in aggro range.

How fast does she respawn after killing her ? I am wondering if it is worth killing her, only to have her chasing you around the zone for the rest of the night. Sort of reminds me of the POG's in Plane of Growth.
I zoned in from OGV and killed "a brown bear" right at zone in, she came running wildly toward zone out to OGV.Seemed she could find me and then lose me easily, not sure why.I let her close and then skined her.Droped reg eye.
It would appear she spawns after killing some animals, and will chase you down. I was runnin through the zone killin stuff and turned around to see her running towards me, but I had no agro until she started attacking me. So, to make the statement, no matter where she spawns she comes after you
She seems to pop after killing several animal mobs in the zone... have seen her pop all over the zone right as we were fighting a few animals looking for poachers.
i can verify the bear dose auto agro the nearest person on several occasions now being only person in zone and seen him chargeing from a ways off with one of my toons agroed
This bear is a PITA!!! Every time she's up, and I'm in zone, she wanders near me. Since I'm a monk soloing with a merc cleric, I'm smart enough to know I probably won't be able to kill her. So if she gets too close, I FD and wait for her to path away. But she rarely does. Twice now, she's run up to me while I'm FD, and she sits on my head. After 30 secs, she moves away at a walk, takes off running, and 5 secs later, she comes back to sit on my head again. After another 30 secs to a min, she disappears to pop somewhere else in zone, but doesn't despawn since I still have her targeted. Makes for a very uncomfortable situation since I'm not that kind of monk. So far, it's been in SW end of zone, right at zoneline. And it's always on my head. Next time, I'm gonna experiment and move to a different spot while she's around. If she does it again, I'm gonna petition to have the "Comfy Seat" sign taken off my head. ARRRGGHHHHH!!!!
