The putrid skeleton on the other side of the fallen platform, very close to the dwarf skeleton, is the PH. He is on a 20 min timer. This Putrid Skeleton when you kill it says "Come visit Barger" or something similar. You'll know you have the right one when you kill him.

Undead version dropped nothing. Boo!!!!!
Agnarr Respawn Timer is 16minutes and 22 seconds, used a stop watch on 9 PHs, Confirmed.

Killed putrid skeleton that says "....visit Barger" or what not at 4AM game time. Ghanex spawned at 10AM game time. Rough times as I was only slightly paying attention to that. Give or take a minute or two. Just making sure it's known he spawns during the daytime and the "...Barger" putrid skeleton is the PH. NEXT to the dwarf skele which, as previously been mentioned, has nothing to do with the PH or named.

The Dwarf Skele is NOT the PH (at least not in 2009 and 2012). The putrid skeleton on the other side of the fallen platform, very close to the dwarf skeleton, is the PH. He is on a 20 min timer. This Putrid Skeleton when you kill it says "Come visit Barger" or something similar. You'll know you have the right one when you kill him. In all likelihood, 20m later you'll see him again. If you are very lucky, you'll see Ghanex instead. For me he has always dropped the head, but I have too small of a data sample size to be sure. My 'mates have told me they have killed him and received no head (sounds like a personal problem lol). I find that cruel and unusual given the spawn rate. ;-(
FYI, I've camped him twice recently, and one time took 3 kills (1 hour), the other took 52 kills (17+ hours). I'm guessing he's probably a 5% to 10% spawn, and I was just very unlucky once, and a bit lucky the other time).
Also, here in the comments people talk about the Dwarf Skeleton "despawning instantly". First, the Dwarf Skeleton has nothing to do with the Ghanex Spawn, so ignore all of that info. Second, even if he did matter, the mob doesn't despawn. It's the fall through the ground client-side bug which happens after the skele collapse animation plays. The same thing happens in one spot in Qeynos Hills when skeles collapse near the ruins in NE corner.. He's still there. The server still has him there. it's just a client-side bug in the EQ client does not show it there, and thus you can't click on it. If you go to his spot, look down, and press F8 (which does server round trip), you will target him, and can even fight and kill him. He's there, He's targetable. Just not with the mouse. Bug has been around in EQ for 13+ years. I reported it in *beta* lol.

The head doesn't always drop. The undead version spawned for me at around 8pm and my merc killed him while I was surfing the web, but nothing dropped.
He's on Bertoxxulous faction, Amiable to human sk. And yes, he is does KoS aviaks.
For 3 days, killed the one putrid spawn over and over at the tree. Nada. Came back the next day and killed all the putrids then the dwarf skelly and he spawned in 3 mins. Coincidence?

Yes, it was a coincidence. The ONLY PH is the putrid spawn point between the eastern most tree and the fallen platform. That putid is on a longer 20m spawn cycle, and it says "Come visit Barger" or something similar when killed. You just have to kill him over and over and over. If you are lucky, it won't take long. I've done this twice now. Once it took 3 kills. The other time, 52. At 20 minute cycle per kill. Be prepared for a LONG camp!

I forgot to add, he dropped head both times for me, and both were "undead" spawns, never seen a "live" version. Not saying there isn't one still. I just haven't seen it.
As stated earlier the Barger putrid is the place holder, this spawn is also on a much longer timer than the other putrid skeletons around twenty to thirty minutes didn't time it out with a stop watch or anything. The undead version spawned and dropped the head, might have been night but was hard to tell on the combine as the sky is darker than normal due to Mistmoore.

found ******* on track with 76 bard by the time i reached him i got ks ed by a damn aviak rook!!! sux
Killed today at putrid camp....10 sec kill with 51 ranger, well equiped..my monk is happy
The mini putrid does still spawn - killed him last night

Not that it matters because the "Dwarf Skeleton" has nothing to do with Ghanex...
After reading threw the post I found the PH for him the putrid skelly that says "come join barger" by the east tree in the undead camp. I killed the PH for a while and finally nite fell. At 9pm game time he finally poped for me and died, luccily he dropped the head first time. I do not know if he only spawns at nite but that is when he spawned for me. So now on to the other parts for this darn quest.
Kept clearing the undead camp at loc pos 1350, pos 1130 (near NK zone). After about 5 rounds (they respawn relatively quickly), Ghanex Drah spawns in that very camp. 6pm game time.

i was killing for bout 2hr, no pop. read other post about killing PH only. stopped killing rest, next time spawn from ph came guess who:) also last time i killed the dwarf area, it was regular putrid instead. not sure if either of this means anything.
Did the place holder only kill with my 51 monk and got him to spawn in about 3hrs real time. Also spawned Zrithsadioun . Could not kill him, but he did not interrupt the PH spawn cycle, and he stayed up for the rest of the time.
While I was waiting I also killed all the lions, wolves, elephants, and escaped gnolls that wandered through the area. Looted half a stack of medium and high quality cat pelts. The wolves only dropped ruined and the elephants only dropped small tusks (read cheap).

He has only one spot he spawns, and that is next to the tree on the east side of the skeleton camp.

Verified, this information is absolutely correct. One spawn point. Between the easternmost tree and the fallen platform. 20m spawn timer. Roughly 5% of seeing Ghanex, otherwise you will see the Putrid. Exhausting camp unless you are lucky. You know you have the right putrid when you kill it if it says something like "Come visit Barger", which I believe is in reference to the Dwarf which was killed and turned into the Dwarf Skeleton right next door. ;-)

Was in SK to practice Fear Kiting with my 21 Iksar Necro when I saw this guy up. I have no idea when he spawned, but it was daylight when I spotted him. I always kill any named mob I find that cons anything but red, he was dark blue so I took him out. Fear kited him and he went down like a sack of wet noodles. Got the head.

His place holder is the putrid skeleton that spawns just to the left of the dwarf skeleton that despawns as soon as it falls to the ground. You will know you are killing the right putrid skeleton if it gives you the text:" Come and join Barger." Ghanex may or may not spawn only at night, but that's when he spawned for me.

Just wanted to confirm this post. All you have to do is kill the Barger skele located at p1355, p1065. Took me a couple of hours to get him to pop.

Another confirmation for this. I just did it in 1/2 hour.
There used to be more to the spawn then there is now. Because there used to be a mini putrid that would spawn for like 5-10 seconds and depop unless. That spawn seems to be gone or doesn't depop anymore.

The truth is he spawns like any other named. no need to kill this and that, just kill his PH and thats it. final answer!!

kill ONLY the putrid skellies and in no time at all he'll pop on the other side of the rigging from where the dwarf skellie pops (and he looks nothing like the pic he is undead with one eye missing)

Look, alot of what it posted below is garbage.
I went to the location described, big skelly camp in South Karana and focused on killing the putrid skeletons. I never killed any quick de-spawning skeletons. I did kill the dwarf skeleton a couple times and once was about 20 minutes before the spawn. He spawned at 9am game time so the crap about him only spawning at night is wrong. He does look vaguely like the photo above. But he is more blue and does have the described undead look about him. He did not have a pet with him, but ididn't really let him cast much in the way of spells. he does run when he gets hurt, and as a 30th level monk I didn't even break a sweat...he hardly even hit me. When he spawned I had jus tbeen sitting around for some time studying these posts, I looked up and about crapped my pants he was right in front of and I was standing at loc +1400/+1080 so one of those posts had it right. Good luck. I waited 1.5 game days and killed aot of skeletons, no special tick that I am aware of as I never killed a quick spawn or anything of the like...I believe one of the putrids IS his PH so do kill those, ignore the rest as uch as you want.
