Well I solo'd this guy today with my 82 druid and a merc cleric. I worked my way into the camp (hallway) with single pulls and then went to work clearing and pulling. GG popped on the first respawn and dropped the Clergymans stone on the first pull. He hits pretty hard but with my 3000 ac druid with 21k hp I was able to kill him with about a 3 on my pucker factor scale or 1-10. Mana wasn't a problem I used a few healing aa's during the fight. This is basically a solo fight now if you bring a merc, so much for the hard stuff.
Edit on Post. After a bunch of bad pathing pulls and a couple of evacs I decided to move down onto the floor the darkshard guardians are on. From either ramp you can kill your way down and then just have to clear the 2 goo roamers and the 2 guardians to get your kills. This is a solo technique and you can keep the PH's cleared by just killing the 2 goo roamers near the PH's and the PH's themselves.
Respawn time is about 26-28 minutes. I believe I can camp down here on the wall just opposite the down-ramp and not have any problem breaking the camp again but I'll keep you posted.
Edit again: Ok, you can get to the bottom floor without clearing any mobs. Just drop down from the bridge on the south side about 1/2 way across. make sure no mobs are wandering around but its pretty easy. Then you can camp directly across from the ramp that goes up (doesn't matter what side). The aggro range is small and you can pull mobs single and get no adds. There are 2 goo roamers that need to be cleared each side to get to the guardians, the Goo's will aggro if you try to fight the guardians in their corners (I tried). FYI the Galvanized Guardian is different than "a galvanized guardian" which is another PH.
great exp camp to, once you split it up a bit you can pull more mobs and some of the different augs in this zone are from random mobs... so your chances are good if you use this to get you some good aa's / exp, took about 2 nights and i outfitted my bot shamy with 6 of the augs from this fella and got one uncut ruby of purity,
Duoed with a nec and cleric box. Nec is fabled/solteris, tanking AAs almost maxed. The cleric is anguish/TSS geared, with an unbuffed mana pool of about 12k.
Out of 8 kills I got: 5 Powersources for Plate 5 ranger masks 3 Clergyman augs
I was just wondering if its possible to get to and keep this camp with my wife and myself boxing this group: 80 warrior, 80 shaman, 80 mage, 80 cleric, 80 enchanter, and 80 druid. Warrior has 900 AA's including the SOF defensive ones, 20k and 3200 AC groupbuffed, geared in COA gear, Epic 1.5, some Qvic gear, Katta ally gear, and some SOF gear. The rest of the group has between 400 and 950 AA's. Mostly Katta ally gear and some SOF Tier 2 gear.
We are looking for some augs for all our characters, and this looks like one of the better ones. We have been killing Tier 2 nameds in SOF, but never hunted in AG so i dont know what to expect here. Worst problem with our setup, is pulling singles and mezzing. Will that pose a problem in AG?
I 5 box 80 SK 2.0(19khp 3.4kac 570AAs CoA gearred), 80 Shamy 2.0 580AAs demi gearred, 80 Monk 2.0 CoA Gearred 250AAs, 75 Cleric TSS gearred 140AAs and 75 Wiz TSS gearred 100AAs and this camp is cake. So you should be fine.
Possibly the best one-group camp in the game, if your group can handle it. Note that the augment is NOT lore. I camped this for about 10 days and got 30 augments, 6 for each of my 5 casters. And that wasn't even a lot of time each day. Earned over 60aas per toon in the process, as the XP is quite good here.
GG spawns often; it wasn't unusual for me to log in and find him up. I'd say on average he pops about every 8th respawn. He drops the augment about 80% of the time; his rare is the ranger mask, which usually rots even when offered for free in /general.
As others have posted, GG has 4 PHers, the 4 rock statues at the bottom of the bridge. Setting up camp in the hallway above, north side, is safest since nothing roams this corridor. Some of the elementals roam the bridge and stop just at the beginning of this corridor, they won't aggro if you're set up inside the corridor. Remember mobs have tiny aggro range in AG.
I usually clear 4-5 of the roaming elementals, more to pass the time than anything else. Then I clear the statue at the bottom of the ramp. Then I keep the four PHers cleared. They can be singled by capable use of the usual "singling" techniques, FD or snare/CoHero. Keep your lev on and you can float over to that "support arm" jutting out from the ramp, allowing you to pull the two far ones without getting trash aggro prior to the pull.
The GG can only be up once at a time. So a neat trick is to time clearing his PHers so only one is ever up at a time. This increase the chance that the GG will repop if you get my drift. One time I got him to pop three times in a row that way. (We had three GG corpses in camp at once.) My point is if you let them all repop before clearing the best you're going to get is ONE GG to pop during one "cycle."
GG hits hard and fast; I tanked him with a 75 warrior (1200aa's, usually had 19.3k HPs, 3000ac) and pretty much chain casted fast heals with both my cleric and druid, while my mage, wiz and enc burned him down. Doesn't seem to have a lot more HPs than trash so if you can keep your tank up and he can hold aggro, your casters can kill him in under a minute.
I'm done with this mob. If you're fighting him on Saryrn and need any advice, please feel free to /tell me.
Spawns under the stone bridge at any of the 4 corners where the statues are I think, PH is a darkshard guardian or a galvanized guardian. (835, 935) northwest (760, 935) southwest (835, 525) northeast (760, 525) southeast
