Was running out to Tarlang just to make sure he was where he should be and Drarakon the Mad was on the path walking around. Sees through invis and double hit me for 2541 so needless to say, I didn't make it. It was 4am game time when I ran into him. Not sure if he's always up then or if that's the only time he's up. From the posts on him, he's on a spawn/despawn timer, maybe fixed. Nevertheless, if you see him, go around...:)
absolute max hit 3200 HP around 500K - 600K partially slowable so about 30%
The best spot to fight him is where he spawns, get the casters and ranged DPS ontop of the wall by where you came in, on the left side. Up there the AOE will rarely land, you can also stand on the wall but it's a lot more awqward.
We dropped this guy twice last night for myself and another necro. My guild is basically just starting EPs, so mainly VT geared, and we had 35ish folks there, a lot of them bots. I was MTing also playing a 15k warrior. Anyway, this guy might quad and hit for up to 3120, but he never hit me that hard. The RT was an 11K SK. Yea it was a good tank I was playing, but he is a really gimp mob regardless. Reading all this stuff here had me wondering if we could do it.
I guess what I am saying is don't be intimidated by this gimp mob. The mob was at 20% when defensive wore off, and I just kept tanking him rather than switch out tanks. I even managed to live through eating enrage :) Rydda Dar's melee is far worse than this guys and his AE will never land if you have good PR.
Did tarlang with 13 Anguish flagged. Not all were flagged but warrior main tank, paladan rampage tank, and 4 clerics were. Had two clerics on rampage tank and two on main tank.
Chaos Claws can be cured with 2 casts of counteract poison, not sure if abolish poison will do it in 1 shot, or the effectiveness of higher levels of poison cures though.
Fought and defeted Tarlang last night three times last night on Morrel Thule (Thanks LoV!) With between 21 and 24 people. The final tally was Us 3, Tarlang 6.
Tarlang is no longer fully slowable. The smoothest fight we had is when we had 2 Time/GoD equiped warriors. Because of Tarlang's excessive amount of hps he was around 50% when the first warriors defensive discipline dropped. Your milage may vary, depending on what type of DPS you bring with you, on how far you can get him down before it is a good idea to swap out your tank.
His Rampage is single target not AE thank the gods! and he does hit as hard as advertised.
If you fail to kill him he will stand where he killed the last person, ie probably camping the raids corpses, until he despawns. So to hurry the rezzing up it is best if he is pulled away from the corpses since he likes to stand around for quite a while before despawning.
If he despawns, the necro will need to go back to Natimbi and say "what power" to the ghost again, or the Dark Blue Tarlang version won't respond. But if you can get raid back up before he despawns all is good.
Another important note, Tarlang does not see invis.
Thanks again to Legion of Valhalla (Morrel Thule)for doing the grunt work and killing the beast and Tinau and Naly for organizing the event
This mob spawns when you do the hand in for the necro epic 1.5, not 2.0 as stated. This mob is level 73 not 75. He is a Kyv Heartpiercer Model..nothing spectacular. He has some PR AE spell wtih -150 resist check, as long as you have 320 and over PR you will be fine hits for almost 4K, although fully slowable. 4 Cleric CH chain works fine, 5 clerics if your tank is not 11K+ raid buffed Lots of hps - is a 10 minute fight with 4 groups of time/GoD equipped peeps Does rampage but nothing to worry about just have spot healers in groups to heal people who take hits Lots and lots of DPS...go
