an eerie chest  

Camped Plane of Hate B for about 15 hours all together for this shield. set a timer to go off every 24:55 minutes to kill the chest or PH, then go kill the lord of ire and wait again for chest. i wasn't 100% sure if this lord of ire had a chance to drop it or not, but they are only a few meters away from one another.

Shield dropped during GoD on Mangler from an eerie chest. No longer drops from Lord of Ire starting from LDoN when the zone is revamped.

I've found 2 on tracking but I never took note of where they spawned...they only spawn in one place?

Not sure if this was patched so you can track him or maybe you just always needed a high tracking skill that was unattainable back in the day? i was able to track him with a 105 ranger with 300 in tracking

Today spawned and found out two things.

1. Unless I am blind it did not show up on my 70 druid tracking when even in the house of spawn. Did show up on tracking once I engaged it.

2. It is significantly larger that the haunted chests and can be seen from the hall while the haunted chests cannot be seen directily from the hall.

Dropped the RNG 1hs whip (no drop) may use for pet weapon.

First time an eerie chest appeared for me he dropped the shattered emerald and the Trueheart shield... needless to say my ranger is ing. the chest is also larger than his brothers(or sisters?). Anyhoo... happy hunting

I just have to vent a bit, no one will probably notice this post till next year anyway.

I landed in one of the worst negative statistical fluctuation's I've ever encountered in EQ. Far from the mentioned 1 / 5 spawn rate for this chest, I've gotten an unbelievable 1 / 46. Yea, forty-six, thats not a typo. One named out of a total of 46 spawns at this point. You do the math, I've sat here for 23 hours. The one 'eerie chest' that did pop dropped only the whip.

The only saving grace is that I've gotten a lot of other little side projects done on the computer during this time. I just alt-tab over to EQ every 30 minutes and kill the PH.

Anyway, that is all. I didn't expect to see the chest a lot, but I didn't expect to get hosed on the spawn rate quite this bad. Hope whoever comes after me has better luck.

Since I didn't camp it straight for the 76 hours, I don't feel comfortable drawing any concrete conclusions about the true spawn rate. I will say that while it’s possible other people camped it while I wasn't on, during my 76 hours sitting at the spawn point I had a whole one person who was interested in the camp. Other than that, I pretty much had the zone to myself.

At some point I ceased to care whether I got the shield or not and instead became stubbornly obsessed with not quitting.

if u ask me this guy is the best for the seoc..did about 3 trips to Pohate for the seoc..was camping this guy + Magi P, Lord of Ire and Lord of loathing,

each trip i spent about 7-9 hours other 3 nameds drop crap loot, each trip i got 1 Immaculate shield and 1 eye of inny and other old school loot from the errie chest. last trip if finaly dropped.


within those trips i killed the errie chest about 7 times..lord of ire 4, Magi P, 6, Lord of loathing 7, so errie chest is prob the best for Seoc and for gettin loot for extra cash.

9 ph's later he finally spawns, max hit on me(70 monk) was 402 several times, didnt seem to have any more hp than the other mobs, just hits a little bit harder, dropped whip >< the loc and directions previously posted are right on
