Can someone please post if you've had more luck spawning the named in trials than I've had. I've now gone through over 40 placeholders for Kril and the Packleader. I've heard that if you kill approximately 20 mobs in the trial that you have a chance for a named to pop. I'm usually not in here with a tracker so I makes it more difficult. The only thing I know for certain is that when you hail Ansharu it seems to spawn the roaming turtle spawn in closest roam to him thats NOT in the room of all turtles. I'm guessing in the trial version that hailing him might trigger the chance for a named to spawn. This is the only way I've gotten the named Grimy turtle to spawn. He wasn't in the turtle room like some people posted earlier. All I could gather from the boards is that they nerfed the spawn rates drastically after GoD came out, so I just need to know if they are extremely rare now .. or if I'm just missing something.
So can someone verify the kill 20 rumor? Is there some "trick" I'm missing out on to get a named to pop? Do named spawn in the non-trial versions of these zones?
I've finally beat this trial with some friends, we are all non elemental geared, and would like a shot at some of the drops off the named before we move on to the next trial. Particularly the staff that Kril drops, because we play on a Zek server and my iksar monk friend would like to thump some hobbits with it.
Second time, got shaman spell Balance of Nihil, Beastlord discipline book, and the ringmail sleeves.
Guy is no more (maybe even less) difficult than the other nocs in this trial. He is found as the second static spawn in the last hallway before the Stonemites. One wanderer nearby - either pacify it or pull the named away. Easy kill.
Spawns in the last tunnel before the ancient stonemites room. Mob was up when we zoned in.
Druid track is insufficient to see him from ZI as it is at the far south of teh zone, but it was on track from the center room after the water section.
Dropped Tarnished Sleeves and a level 65 mage DD spell.
He's level 65, not 67~ Hits for the same as any other mobs in there (1100 or so), PH is a noc bloodletter. Watch the warping if you're pulling into the previous room, it can get you a pretty mean train. Can also drop veil of mist and tarnished ringmail sleeves as well as random spells, though they seem to be much more rare. At this point, we've gotten staff & spell (65 ranger heal), sleeves, veil, sleeves, sleeves.
Yes you can exp in the instanced zones. Either activate the zone like a trial through the priest or the guy behind the temple will let you exp in the instanced zones.
You don't have unlimited time in the trial versions it's like a 5-8 hour limit.... I spent all day in there once and a message came up like a LDoN and it said that my time was almost up or something then booted me a few minutes later.
