Skeleton LLrod is found on the first floor of befallen, he is not agressive to Dark races atleast. The takes a minor role in the quest for the Thex Mallet.
Many clerics have attributed the levels of 10 to 14 to Llrod.
Just on a whime, I took my 44th level Chanter to Befallen for the first time, just to tour the place and hopefully pick up a couple stacks of zombie skins and met this guy. Indifferent to my High Elf Chanter with horrible "the dead" faction, so he must be on some other (no faction hit on his death ... Beta Neutral perhaps?)
Yeah, after he killed my Necro main at level 11 (back in the days when pets would wander off at random and aggro mobs), every time I pass through Befallen I like to give Llrodd a good kicking in revenge.
Most of my characters have killed him multiple times: with my Rogue, for example, turned out that he could heal back to full health between spawns, so I just put a tape in the VCR, killed him, sneak+hide to sit and regen for the next... went from 13 to 16 in the course of a couple of movies and then on to Paludal. Very good XP at that level if you don't want to head up there (and, AFAIR, my Monk got a whole yellow of XP killing him when he was a yellow con at level 11).
I read your guys's messages and decided hey, im an eleven wizzy. Ill take this guy on. But what you didn't mention was that hes surrounded by lower level skeles, like decaying skeletons and large skeletons.
None of these aggrod me, and thats good. But if I was going to root Lrodd and nuke him without getting interrupted, I would have to destroy these weaklings. So I set about taking them one at a time, and pulling them over to me. I took out the first two without difficulty; I just rooted and nuked them with a weak nuke.
But the last one, the one closest to Lrodd, was not as pleasantly killed. I nuked him into a pile of bones and Lrodd got angry. He ran towards me, and I was unable to root him quickly enough with my limited health. So, I ran to the entrance which was fortunately close by.
A couple of higher level dudes were there, and I quickly asked them for help. They stood up just as Lrodd arrived, and began to fight. Now, I wanted some experience too, so I nuked him with my best, a Firebolt. After a few of these, though, he stopped fighting the higher level character and attacked me, a 90 pound weakling when it comes to meleeing. I turned and ran for the zone but died to soon.
I got no experience, no money, and I had to run back to Befallen. But I had another trick up my sleeve: a friendly higher level character! I sent tells to him, and he agreed to level me in Befallen. He asked where we should hunt, and with a slightly psychotic grin I said "Lrodd." So, with this higher level dude, I ran up and happily nuked the crap out of him! The experience was great, and because of Lrodd's seven minute spawn timer, I was able to kill him 4 times in a half hour.
Lrodd has a level range. I am currently level 9 and *most* of the time he cons red to me, but the occasionally he is yellow so I would guess that he is probably 12-13. This would also explain how you got a blue con when you were 13.
I was in Befallen picking the 1st lock door for proficiency and then did a little hunting. I am 18 and Lrodd conned blue on me but was a pushover after a 34 backstab and never aggroed anything else. He respawned later green. I was gonna camp the 1st SK for the chipped bone rod, and he had a trio of decaying skellis as placeholders. When the room was cleared he popped in less than 5 minutes.
Last night I got this guy down to half HPs with just me and my lv 8 pet and I had 30% mana and was soloing (I'm a lv 9 mage) this guy was red to me so had to be at least 12 cuz I had just become 10 at the time. I do have a question though. Why is a lv 12+ skele in befallen practically guarding the sk? I want that darn key!!!
I don't know what you guys are talking about conning blue to a level 10? He just conned white to my level 13 SK and no he doesn't hit very hard but I will probably camp him until he stops giving so much exp for this level. He brought me to 14 and on my way to 15th. As a matter of fact I would have had 15 easy if I wouldn't had to go help a guild member out.
Sorry to the higher level guys doing the mallet quest. I know I've been there
I am a dark elf shadow knight and do the thex mallet quest all the time. you little newbies bug me so much killing him when I need to give him the note from kizdean gix. oh well he spawns fairly fast. and yes when you give him the note Cmdr Windstream spawns on the third floor and drops the mallet stem which is the container to combine the mallet head and mallet hilt in to make the thex mallet. Windstream is pretty strong, im 33 and he is still blue con. easy enough to kill alone though.
I'm a 10th level troll Shadow Knight with a 130 strength and maxed out (for my level) combat skills. Don't let the high level types fool you - he's definately atleast 11th or 12th as of last night when I met him for the first time since he keeps conning red and yellow.
I haven't been able to determine if he'll agro on his own, but I do know that it really sucks when I've got half a dozen skels on me (not much problem) and then this idiot jumps in.
Just remember that anything can be a push over if you're high enough level - remember all of those monsters which where instant death if they caught you at 1st level whom you now kill inside of two or three swats at 5th level? Just keep them in mind the next time you read that a particular critter/NPC is a cake walk.
Does anyone know the spawn time of him? I usualy camp the shadow knight in the first room, and he has a 20min spawn time, woundering what lordd's time is
I am a lvl 11 Cleric, and solo Lrodd often. If he cons yellow, I'll do it. If red, no way. Basically, cast Ward undead to pull him. Then run to the zone (Be sure to be polite, and shout to warn others) and turn around. Sometimes he gets lost in the main hall, so if you have to go pull him with another Ward Undead. But, once you get him to zone, meele him and cast Ward Undead every chance you get. But zone if you need to! But with Cleric anti-undead spells, you should be able to solo this guy with no problem (Unless he brings friends, which can happen sometimes.)
he usualy is easy to fight for a level 10+ cleric, even if he cons red. If he brings his friends it may cause some trouble, but thanks to the high level pepole that are campng a 30+ mummie that spawn once about every 12 hours or so, they will usualy help you out with out you needing to zone
Easy fight, Good xp, no loot, needed for the thex mallet quest, you hand him the note that you get from kizdon gix, tell gix password and he gives you note to take to lrodd, give it to him and i think u get a name zombie or mummy to spawn, Kill him and u get a box to combine the mallet pieces. To get the mallet pieces you might need to kill the elf skele a few times, comebine both of the 2 pieces and u get the thex mallet, u can turn it in to somebody in the SK guild and u get a ring of the dead, or reaper of the dead, a pretty nice weapon for lower lvls. Im not sure the quest might broken.
I haven't seen anyone mention it, but isn't this weenie a trigger for A Shadowknight that spawns in the room to the right of him? Or does everyone just kill Llrodd for fun whilst they camp the SK?
I'm a level 28th Wizard. I ventured into Befallen at level 8 and stayed until level 15th. I recently returned at level 21 during a guild raid. Now, as per Cythene's latest post - Of all the creatures in Norath, you have to understand that no matter how strong a creature is, you can kill it (so long as you know how) This is a general rule. Anyway, I revert to the old saying - Red and yellow, run like a fellow. Black and blue, attack you fool.

How do you think 2 lvl 60s would fare against a dragon that conned blue to them? They'd be slaughtered cause dragons are WAY undercon. So are most high lvl creatures and that's why gods and stuff need like 50 lvl 50+ players to take them out. Also what the hell is "Red and yellow, run like a fellow. Black and blue, attack you fool"?
Notice they said as a "general rule". Sure, there are exceptions to every rule... dragons and gods just happen to be a few of those exceptions. And while most gods are over the 60s in levels, dragons, gods, planes and the like are meant to be taken by groups.
Now... the quote I do have to argue with just a bit. In lower levels, if you play your cards right, you can take yellows and depending on your class and how well you play the game, possibly reds. However... yes, as you progress in level, yellow and sometimes evens will be extremely difficult to solo without the right class.
Personally I think the necro is a good class for this, as throughout their levels they can usually fight things above them if they know what they are doing. So as a rule of thumb, in lower levels feel free to take risks. You'll lose little or no experience in doing so and you'll know what you are capable of. Higher levels... it's best to really know what you are getting yourself into before you just start attacking a yellow because you were able to kill yellows with no problem in the "Old Days".
