I just did this on Phinigel server.
She does in fact spawn on the ground next to the wrecked boat. (NOT on the boat or under it)
If you stand at n860, n670 you can kill the PH's and do the hand in when she spawns.
PH's were 16 minutes.
I killed 9 of them before she spawned.
I don't think you need to kill any mobs around the area... but I killed them out of pure boredom.
Other posts indicated that you just need to kill the PH where she spawns.
By the way, I did this at Level 61... 1 big undead nuke and 1 baby nuke was enough to kill PH's.

loc is approx neg850 neg680...Kill single place holder every 20 mins till she spawns.
note: Nil, None, No other mob needs to be killed except the single skelly place holder for this to work..there is no magic speed up system.
best to do this in a low group 35-45 so you can xp while your waiting. if you cant get xp worth the effort then dont...save the mobs for someone who can =)

I can also confirm this. Killing only the place holder eventually spawned the spirit. I was the only person in the zone. She does despawn on turn in.

started and finished the quest tonight (3:00 AM EST, 4/15/06)
The female spawned after killing 6 or 7 skeleton placeholders. placeholders spawned every 20 minutes or so.

All i did was to sit by the spot where she shows up and she showed with 10 mins
ok i got it, we had to find the spawn spot for her, then we killed the ph, we killed each one the spawned, three in a row she was the fourth, i turned in and got the spell, she depoped and now we are waiting for my dad's turn in. we have killed two ph so far.
update: it took four ph to die before we got the second pop, we got the turn in for both of us, and we both have temp. :)

I just got this last night on Fenin, 20 June
1)Some Pally killed her trying to make the male spawn. THIS DOES NOT WORK. Both male and female can spawn at same time. I saw the male up and waited.
2)My friends went around killing everything they saw, but there were plenty of people so it was easy. I don't know if that helped anything but kill time.
3)There are place holders for her. So where you see the skellies standing next to the boat, SHE will spawn. How many? That depends I killed about 7, but the total time was just about 2 and 1/2 hours from when I got there. But when she respawned the male had respawned.

It may seem like it's not up for debate, but it might be. I was doing this quest with my cleric and with a friend's cleric while my 65 mage friend cleared Dandolak and Stormwave (we got an emblem to drop on each one, I believe they drop off of any kind of mob since we got one off of a Dandolak Cannoneer, previously unlisted) and then we found the spot where she was supposed to spawn. My mage friend then went around and kill all the mobs on the dead side (the eastern side) of the beach and she spawned at the next spawn, I did the turn in first. Then I waited around and helped my cleric friend with his, we waited 20 minutes and a skeleton spawned which I killed, then the erudite spirit spawned 20 minutes after that. So it might or might not matter if you kill any of the stuff there. Although I did have my war kill a few of the nearby spawns, 1 of which was a deadly skeletal sailor, don't know if that was one of them listed as helping to spawn her. Hope this info helps.

Was doing this from work so I was only able to kill the PH beside the boat every 20 mins.
She spawned after 3 PH skellies so I agree that there is no special trigger to get her to spawn any quicker.

Ok, I camped the placeholder at the loc mentioned elsewhere NEG 863, NEG 665, and the placeholder was always a skeleton. I killed 6 of them, and on the 7th pop I got the Female Erudite Spirit. I did not kill anything else on the beach. The spawn timer for the place holder is 20 minutes. When you hand in the emblem she despawns. I hope this helps! =)

her loc is NEG 863, NEG 665 in Gunthak. a 44 cleric can do the camp easy.

This isnt a Loc but she spawns beside the huge boat in the center of the beach.The male version spawns over by the wall towards the back of the beach area.

LONG TIME but eazy at that =)
She takes forever to pop OR there is a distance factor to her pop (you have to be away from where she pops).
killed the male 6 times before i saw her pop.
they both have fixed pop locs.
oh.. and they arent level 60, My 44 Mage pet solo them, and the con was Dark blue.
