Trissa Whistlesong says, 'Singing can be such a chore sometimes. Trying to come up with all those rhymes. I'd love to just sit back and bask in the sun, but giving out [tasks] is fun too. Have one.'
Being a decent shaman of somewhat good standing with most races and cities I decided to kill this bard in South Karana. Well he kicked my *** so of course I had to kill him repeatedly with friends thereafter. Being a barbarian I am not the smartest person you ever met so it was a surprise to me to find myself fighting bards everwhere I went!! Marton would attack me in halas, and some other bard (whose name I didn't choose to remember) in felwithe as well. Not knowing how to get back in good standing with those ridiculous musicians, i was exploring freeport last night and wandered in to an inn. In a back room, once again much to my surprise and amusement, a bard named Trissa (whose name I will NEVER forget) proceeded to tell me how she was going to sing of my demise. Well i finally had it!!! This was the last time I was going to fight a bard. Being a shaman of the 44th season I assumed (much to my chagrin) that she would be as easy to kill as marton so I let her hit me a few times while i prepared to blast her to hell where she belonged. A very short time later (much too short for someone that only seemed formidable to me) i was half dead and running for my life!!! WELL!! I was having none of that!!! So I meditated, and I memorized the right spells, and bound my wounds. I was gonna really teach her a lesson!!! This time I would NOT underestimate her!!! So back to the inn i went. Shamelessly i cast a spell that would keep her in her place while i diseased and poisoned her. I blasted her with blizzards of ice and shocking poison. But I could see it was having very little effect on her. So I changed tactics (very clever of me I thought). Now I was going to plant her in the ground and simply meditate and disease her with a nasty scourge. Well I could go on and on about how many times I had to run around regenerating, how many times I had to run to a different land to escape her, how many times I came back to find her limping her way back to the inn with half of her life healed back. it was the worst fight of my life and I was NOT going to let her win!!!! In the end I prayed to the tribunal that my scourge would not be resisted as I meditated harder and faster than I ever meditated in my life. Finally, after 2 hours and 47 minutes later, the enstill broke and i found her trying to walk away!!! HA! I had won!!!! Chasing her through the city I finally slew her with a blizzard blast. Slowly I approached her corpse anticipating a grand reward, yet prepared for dissapointment. On her I found a horn, a mandolin, a bottle and a shackle key with the number 20 on it. I'm not sure yet what these items are or what puzzle they might solve but I will keep them as trophies for now...
Wilamorf Windfang Shaman of the tribunal 44th Season
Myself (lvl 34 Chanter) and a Friend (lvl 44 Wiz) went into the inn to take her out for fun. 3600 points of damage later, I mezzed her and we ran. She wasn't even half way dead, which means she probably has about 7500 hit points (not lying). Damn, she is tough. She also isn't worth it. I guess Verant succeeded in doing what they wanted to do... However, a Bard with 7500 hp? C'mon. How lame. She also doubles for 80 - she kicked my pet's **** and he was buffed up pretty well (even with Rune III).
Actually she has 11253hp, i killed her tonight at 2:24 am May 14, 2001. took me full life. a mend, Feign Death, bandage up to 50% and another mend. I'm 50th lvl and have decent gear for my lvl to include an FBSS, she was a TOUGH fight that took over 12 minutes of combat.
Maiyamoto Usagi 50th LVL monk of Quellious Solusek Ro
Me and a druid friend got bored last night and were in west freeport and I said hey lets go try killing this bard. Well we get to the bar, he meds to full and I walk up and wack her. She does hit for 80. And me (lvl 33 monk) didnt do to bad, I mended once before I had the druid heal me, she was about half when the druid healed me and after that I could not get her to come off the druid, I chased her al over the place, lol...it was kinda funny. Very high hit points or it seems they are very high.
I with my 44 mage did a full mana dump on her with me doin around 600dmg each time and pet with fire shield and hittin for 46 i had to zone with jboots she has hp out to wazooo now and hits for 80. I have no idea what the hell maybe she is up for a quest npc now but oh well no more exp for the lowbies=)
I think in a recent patch they made her a tad bit better...used to level off her now i cant, this sucks, hehe. My 34 necro friend couldnt even begin to take her, oh well.
I was by trissa and I tried to kill her not needing to con because at lvl 19 she had coned blue in the past. Now she can hit for 80 whats going on I really hope this is just a buff someone please answer
I'm a lvl 35 DE Necro on Cazic and I killed her last night. It was a tough fight, I had to kill the guards outside the room first then med up before taking her on. Started off with dooming and dotted the hell out of her. I had to get out of the room to get her off me. I kept her dotted with everything I had and had my pet on her equipped with a staff of writhing and a water crystal staff!!!!!! I ran OOM and was about to zone to EC when my pet whacked her *** one more time and the staff of writhing went off. BOOM the #@$#@ is dead! I think the whole key is getting her outside the room and have plenty of mana on tap, and make sure you're not kos to freeport guards.
I killed Trissa as a necro in my teens...as I was passing through recently, I am now 35, she conned white to me after she slaughtered some poor soul running for the zone.
i killed her in my teens too! way easy exp from lv12 (tough red con) till 18. easy money too. yesterday i was showing my cousin the way to get to trissa too. he's lv14 and i thought it's ok (he's well twinked too, so i'm not worrying). well he conned her and she's reD! thought there was a problem so we left her alone. 35?? LEVEL 35??? this is a joke !!!
As a 44 necro, I tried killing the "new" Trissa. I did about 2000 points in DD, and around 1000 in DoT's. My Pet did close to 1000 himself. I ran around the corner and FD because she was still at 1/3 health.
4000+ damage means she has way too many HP for her level. I don't recomend killing her unless you are well prepared. She only hits for 80 though. :)
Clubber 44th Level Dark Elf Necromancer <Ebon Rose> Tribunal
OUCH.....tried attacking her with my 14 shadowknight...usually red to me, then my pullin' spell got resisted and she hit me for 76 and 80...thank god for bad pathing or i woulda been a goner....
Well, I've hunted her with both my SK and my Enchanter, so I can add a bit in.
My SK was able to solo her att level 14, but she would often bring him down to about a bubble of health. I got up to 20 off her (Took a LONG time) before moving on. Exp was nice, and the loot was great. Human SK, went from Indifferent (Raised via Bard mail quests) to scowels. Hehe, I still kill her from time to time at 47.
With my enchanter, it was an easy solo at 12, plus the pages are a nice bonus. However, I stopped at 16. The faction hits are too heavy, but they'll bring you down sooner or later. But hey, there's always Lake Rathetear =)
This is easily the best person to kill from 12 to 21. She is VERY easy drops a mandolin which sells for 1.2pp and other stuff plus for 12 to about 17 you can hunt hae for exp so you can juggle the two jus say "brownloe Bakery" to pandos he walks away you kill shae and yep go downstairs wait a min and trissa,s back shes a 100 out of a 10.
I was amiable before I started killing her from all the mail I'd carted around, and it took about 15-20 kills before she switched to indifferent. So far the guards in NFP haven't changed away from the apprehensive that they've always been, so I can't really give any information on that.
She cons Amiable to me, however I do like killing her for the loot (Exp isn't too hot at 17) and after a couple of kills she's still amiable.. is this worth the faction hit or should I leave her alone?
Well all you casters don't need to read this, just melle. Me and a friend killed this girl a lot. I tried to solo with out the necro, bad idea. Well to the point. Untell she is even melle people, i say get a level 12 caster and kill her. The xp is still great and at 1.2 pp every other one is still good. Just a little info i would like to add.
this is the BEST place to hunt until you are level 20, I soloed here with Yandabam my necro and am looking forward to with Tubbers my shaman, If you want GREAT exp AWESOME loot and a ton of fun hunt TRISSA WISTLESONG!!!! I also found out a trick you can do with casters =P if you e-mail me I will tell you but don't wanna post it here or the GMs might take it away, and that would be bad, the loot you can get off her is a Mandolin EVERYtime and occasionally another instrument and runes/words mandolins sell for 1.2pp each (in an hour you can make about 20pp) and the exp is almost too good to be true you can kill her no problem when you are only level 12! it also gets you good faction with the Vampire Mayong Mistmore and the Ring of scale so if you goto Kunark you can walk up to the named dragons and say "Hiya buddy wanna share some elvin wine" and they can reply "sure friend" faction hits are Your faction with Ring of Scale got better Your faction with Mayong Mistmore got better Your faction with Guards of Qeynos got worse Your faction with Knights of truth got worse Your faction with League of Antonican Bards got worse
From experience, i can say this is the BEST place for loot, and exp for necros (and maybe other pet classes im not sure) levels 12-16 atleast. She drops a mandolen EVERY TIME and randomly some bard instroment, words, runes, and grimoire pages.
Shae only aggros if you are kos to paladins (which is what she is) You can kill Trissa till 75 if you want and it wont harm your faction with the paladins
I have killed her a lot from level 13 through level 19. I still can thumb my nose at the paly guard by the bank in North Freeport, so the various orcs killed along the way must have redeemed some of my faction. At level 19 she is still providing good XP and with 1.2pp per kill I can buy a lot of bone chips. Basically she is very good for getting that 1 or 2 bubs XP buffer as you level.
She always drops the Mandolin, but in addition she will sometimes drop a rune, a word, a random bard instrument, or even a second mandolin.
Some dark races are NOT automatically KoS in North Freeport. Understand that the Knights of Truth faction will change this.
Also, Lady Shae will aggro you if you are killing Trissa. She is only about 11-13 level, so this is usually not a problem, but will give you negative faction hit with FelGuard. It usually just becomes an annoyance.
