Was camping chief today for vt shard and was amazed when this sword droped never expected a 16 20 from suck a easy spawn logged on my other account as fast as a I could and now my pally has this nice weapon.
Il y a 2 épées la 1ere et la plus pourri se trouve au pics sur le chef tribal donc pas la peine et la bonne se trouve sur le meme mob mais a maiden: sortez allé a gauche en invis le popzone est l'arbre le plus pres du mur. Voila bonne chance !

Posted:May 06 2003 at 4:59 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) um this does not drop in DS. i have killed in DS an have killed the tribal chieftan many tiems an he has never dropped this. the one in ME does though, besides here are the difference.
Ive spent at least 100+ hours camping chieften in ME. Have seen him spawn 10 or so times. Ive gone 8 hours with no spawn, and got 2 back to back. Ive gotten 8 to 10 necklaces from him. And 2 Divine Inspirations. Never seen this.
This sword Dropped off the Tribal Cheif In DS also LVL? The chief is at the small tribal camp
he is unable to be slowed.... soem ppl at the hopper cave slayed it for me was red at 38. I have the sword in my bank box although i cant weild it and its nodrop stats are Slated Sword Magic Lore No drop Primary secondary 1hs Delay 24 DMG 8 War pal shd rgr
What item screenshot?....man some of you people post and have no clue wth you are talking about. Probably have never even played a ranger. So what if its a great item for the mob. The mob is extremely rare (I have seen him once, and spent 5 levels in ME), only dropped this sword once on Tarew Mar server so far.
I have this weapon got it off goranga chief. However as I understnad it this is now NERFED. I imagine VERANT cuaght the whole risk vs reward thing but none the less the new sword of the same name sucks its 12 26 or 10 22 or something like that looks the same has same name but less stats. I havent seen new sword but I have been told so its not first hand info. If thats true then verant prolly did the right thing seeing as I do way to much damage with this...
And BTW we killed the chief many many many times and only once did he actually have this...id say we killed him 50 or so times...

Posted:Jun 16 2003 at 9:14 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Stupid pally here probably doesn't even know how easy it is to hold agro with stuns. But it wouldn't be the first stupid pally I have met.
I'm not agreeing or disagreeing it is fake...but here is a possible argument against the picture being fake. Perhaps the person who sent it in, didn't take a picture while playing the game. Perhaps the person who sent this in, just quickly saw the sword and that was it. Maybe no one could have used it and it rotted, which would have sucked :( S/he might have made the picture using the generator and tried to remem everything off hand, but just forgot the size...plus, VI isn't perfect and can leave stuff out as well...good luck to anyone who gets this, I know I'm going to be camping this for quiet some time, still get good exp :)

BTW just a little insight, I spend a large amount of time in maidens eye and the chief is a very to ultra rare spawn, i have never seen him yet, also the sword is probably his uncommon loot if not his ultra rare loot so you prolly wont see to many of these, and for those of you who think this is fake well I feel sorry for you, if your worried its fake then dont camp for it, if you see some one who might actually know anything then ask, you might learn some thing, so quit wasting time posting your disbeliefs here so the rest of us can enjoy the prospect of possibly obtaining this weapon
He does exist (Goranga Chieftan). However, I have only seen him once and the one time I did see him, he did not have the sword. (BTW, I am a Ranger and do track most of the time and always do check for him, hehe)
Sad that some dumbass took the time to make this so he can giggle like a schoolgirl in front of his computer when people debate about it.
You can make this exact pic with the uber item generator...when you're finished making it...you can move the square with the item around wherever you want on the pic. The spacing is exactly the same around the stat box as the generated pic.
It's fake, first off theres no "Size" displayed and it follows the format of the "Uber Item Generator", here take a look at my own creation and compare it to the sword above

I would be pissed. This is obviosly a ranger item, NOT a paladin weapon. There are even droppable paladin 1hs weapons with better dmg/gly like jeldorin. Plus, this weapon is useless without duel wield which rangers have.
This weapon kicks a$$. I would also like to point out that with all the sweet a$$ stuff comin out of the upper end of Luclin...rangers have been getting the short end of the deal and even thought they have to share with the pallys, this is awesome. I mean honestly..how many class only weapons have come out for pretty much every other class(except rangers) in Luclin. Case and point
I love all the posts that people make...such and such class has been shafted by Luclin! Who knows yet? Do you think everything that drops in Luclin has been posted yet? Just give it a bit, I'm sure things will start showing up that every class will want to drool over.
There have been a lot of 2hs and 2hb that don't have ranger on it, for no discernable reason. Also, Moktor plate armor was ranger usable, but then got retroactively nerfed to not ranger usable. Gotta swap out for crap chain. Our 49 regen spell got nerfed to 3pts/tick, but that doesn't matter because it doesn't stack with call of earth so no one uses it. He's got a reason for the point he makes. Seems every warrior in my guild has a strength of grodan in his backpack.
Apparently you aren't 50 yet. He said Call of Earth, not Wolf Form. Call of Earth has a much better ATK bonus than Wolf Form and Nature's Presicion but won't stack with Force of Nature.
Call of earth has 25ac and a 4 point danage shield, no atk on it. Strength of Nature has atk and like 75 or so hp on it and does stack with call of earth
Yes at first glance at the damage and delay it looks better than earthcaller, it is in the sense of its raw weapon stats, but earthcaller has the 70% slow and 500 DoT plus the other stats, so this weapon is only better in the pure damage delay area, but I would use my earthcaller when soloing over this sword anyday, I stil intend to get this weapon, but earthcaller is still marginaly better. and for all of you screaming its BETTER than epic, so what, almost every class has weapons available to them that are BETTER than epic, so lighten up already
Tealaan Wolfgaurdian 53 pathfinder <Dragons of the Conclave> Lany's T'Vyl
You're right, 70% slow proc is really nice..but take into account two things. First, if you're lucky enough to get it to stick, then you're lucky. Most of the time its just resisted. Second, like the post above/below says it causes way way too much aggro, even when resisted. Jolt doesn't work everytime, and by the time you cast it, you could already be dead or get interrupted some umpteen times before it lands.
Whose to say that you just don't alternate?? I would use epic till proc went off, then switch swords. This and a Tolan's Longsword is by far the best combo yet, Claw of Lightning wouldn't be bad either...but I think Tolan's LS gives regen/atk or something as well as the 40% haste :)
Right off the top of my brain, the main thing that rangers and paladins have in common is that they are priest hybrids. They worship good or neutral deities, and in general rangers and paladins are good guys. They're strong fighters, and through worship they gain powerful magical abilities that are generally defensive in nature. While some would argue that rangers are offensive spellcasters, I would point out that they generally use their offensive powers to smite evil. Rangers and paladins are the posterboys for "Champions of Good". With these things in mind, it would not be too far fetched for a weapon to simply "be" good, and refuse to be used by evil.
While that story may hold up in a role playing view... I seriously think this was a simple mistake by Verant... (as we all know, if there's anything they do well, it's making mistakes)
Paladin/ShadowKnights have gotten a boost in weapon stats for them because at higher levels, their damage output AND tanking abilities are far surpassed by the classes that specialize in those areas.
While I'm not one to scream "NERF", I highly believe Verant will take Rangers off the list of usable classes (only because of the flood of Rangers soon to hit Maiden's Eye)... so better get your Rangers out there soon, and Equip this thing and hope they don't turn it into a rusty short sword... cause with this type of DMG/DLY... I'm sure EVERY ranger will want one.
BTW... I don't want to hear any "This is too powerful" whining... yes it's powerful... but after all the crap Rangers had to put up with for so long... they deserve at least ONE lucky break.

You got your lucky break.. epic quest that can be completed without setting foot on a plane. It has been done.
So no PoH, no PoA.... thought rangers needed 1 piece from each of these planes to finish their epic, sure I could be wrong, and if I am please correct me, I'd rather get those pieces from somewhere else honestly. But what do I know, I'm just a pathfinder.
Just because one person had their epic MQed doesn't mean all rangers benifit from this. What the hell kinda lucky break is it for me that is 'has' been done?
My frustration...ppl posting about rangers when theyre not even 50+.I would rock this weapon...risk is nothing to a high level ranger..why?Cinder Jolt and Jolting Blades. If you die when grouped with a warrior at 50+ either the cleric or the warrior doesnt know what theyre doing.Or your fighting a very very bad ****.So please, before you post about why "This would suck for rangers" try playing one to a higher level then 40.
Saemayel Faemyst,Blood Hunter of Tunare(55th level Ranger)
And its that attitude that gets rangers killed. I've been in groups with under equipped warriors who just CAN'T hold agro. What I have to do is step back and let the warrior get back agro. Also some rangers dont watch their spells. I hold off til the end to snare when the mob starts running(Tangling weeds, .5 second snare, effective, try it you'll like it) that way i dont get agro. Also if the cleric has one Cheal left, he/she has to decide whether or not to heal the ranger who is proly gonna die and take the group with him anyway or heal the warrior who will probably live. A good ranger controls his own agro and doesnt leave it to the warrior to do it.
PS sig is wrong and I'm 45, not like it matters I've know this kinda stuff since level 20, so please stop flaming the low levels, yet anothe pet peeve of mine.
I agree with the post above this last one, this weapon poses very little risk to a high lvl ranger in most situations. Fact of the matter is, that in groups with an "underequipped warrior" someone else ends up tanking, be it myself, a paly, sk or monk. Besides, if you play a ranger to the lvl requirred to get this (ME is no picnic), its a safe bet you've learned how to survive in groups and manage aggro.

Posted:Feb 14 2002 at 7:34 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) maybe but i doubt it.....rangers could severly abuse that weapon, its the best dam/del 1 handed weapon that rangers can use. the risk vs reward is waaaayyyy off balance. would make sense for pally/sk or bard even, but not for an efficient dualer like a ranger, warrior, or rogue.
16/20 is one of the best weapons around for rangers to use, however there are weapons of similar quality for all classes. And this won't un balance the game... ME can be hellish and this is a rare drop off of an even rarer spawn who is reported to be very tough. Besides these facts, rangers are designed to be able to do slightly more melee damage than warriors, and rogues get much of their damage from backstabs.
