If you want a snare item with more than one charge, do the burlap yarn quest. Get the pouch of bone dice that drops off the prince in the warrens and take them to the little cat girl Miranda in the Kejek village in stonebrunt and receive a 4 charge right click snare item. The dice are lore, the yarn you get is not.
My question is for those who have... Its NO DROP so how can you throw it? Pleaes only post if you have FACTS about items not your opinions or what you think it might do.
You just put the item in your range slot and throw it like you would a throwing dagger or other throwing weapon (and hope that you hit and that it procs). The NODROP flag just keeps you from dropping the item or trading it. I have used many of them on my BL kitty while trying to gather finger bones.
Ok, after reading these posts I went after this item only to find it's a red herring. There are no charges listed on the item BECAUSE you have to throw it in order for it to proc (it's not right clickable). Once you've thrown it you lose it, it doesn't return as someone else stated when you use it in the 50ft range. Therefore the amount of times you can use this item are unlimited only if you can't count to 1 hehe.
If you're looking for this type of item I suggest you get those silk spider webs from velious which as easily obtainable and have 2 charges rather than 1.
Damn shame though, I was looking forward to having a real snare item.
those root.... not cause a regeneration proc... also there is a potion like this. some kind of bark potion... that thing roots you, and regens you. It could be a difficult item to know when to use. Too late in the battle you cant persue the target.
This is an excellent runaway catcher. Sometimes in groups, for even druids, a mob may start to run away due to snare wearing off, or some other reason. In dungeons, even ensnares short casting time may be too long, if the mob ducks behind a wall. The net would be perfect to catch mobs trying to run away if it is instant. Everyone should try and get one of these. You would never lose it in that situation, that is, end of fight entanglement vs. possible out of range pull.
Thats what the ranger's new lvl 9 spell (from luclin) is for: Tangling Weeds. Exact same as effect as our lvl 9 snare, except two things: -nearly instant cast time (says .5 seconds, but at lvl 36 its more like .1 seconds or less) -shorter duration (30 seconds max, as opposed to roughly 3 minutes)
Stops a runner but quick, giving you more time to get off a full snare (which will overwrite TW, but TW will not overwrite snare), before it can get around those corners.
In a couple groups I done recently since getting luclin that we been doing. Soon as one starts to run, the druid (or whoever has a snare-type spell) will start casting their snare. Takes around 2 seconds to complete (even at lvl 36 for me). But at same time I cast TW, which stops/slows it enough that it cant get away before the other person gets off the full snare. Although many times with a decent group you can get the creature killed before the full snare has even been cast. Sometimes I am the sole snarer, and been using TW only, just casting multiple times if needed.
As soon as I read about this I made my way to Hollowshade to try to get one of these. It dropped off of the 5th or 6th Fisherman I killed. It is NOT triggered. The only way to activate the net is to fire it from the range slot. Also beware, if you are out of range, the net will poof when you try to fire it, so no second chances. My guess is that it is really a 1 charge expendable item (not labled as such), which get checked and processed before the "attack with ranged weapon" process happens, thus net go bye bye if you are out of range.
Nope. It is a LORE item, no duplicates allowed. I could swear that the first one I saw, back in December had a STR+5 on it, but that is no longer there. It is a simple 4/25 Ensnare item
i seriously doubt this item has unlimited changes of snare . it drops off a lvl 20 mob in an easy zone . more than like ly it either has to be thrown for the snare to work or it has 2 charges like the crystaline webs in CC.
someone plz post about this if you have one or know someone with it . so i dont have to go kill all the poor fishermen for 2 days 8)
how is this thing triggered? if you have to attack with it to trigger it then its a one use item, its ranged, therefore goes away entirely when used. (which is anouther verent DUH alert)
Castersrealm did not have information on this spell but I did find it on a French website. I dont speak French but I believe I got the jist. This appears to be a low level snare spell which lasts up to sixty seconds. If this is right, and there are unlimited charges, this will turn out to be a very popular item.
