Scaled Mystic
# Jul 20 2002 at 4:47 AM Rating: Decent
Scaled Mystic sucks in my opinion. If Wisdom equals a Shaman's mana gained per lvl and more wisdom of course means a growing mana pool. Scaled Mystic would be the most retarded way to go. Last I looked only a few items, maybe 3, of scaled mystic added to wisdom. ***** that. I havn't had any kind of trouble in camping items for these quests. It just takes time.
Iksar got screwed

Ok.. Again I would like to bring up Iksar Shammys. Though this piece does't really count but Iksar can not wear Totamic, there is the Scaled Mystic but this stuff is better. So I guess I would say its Totamic for Iksar.... but then again I have not camped any of this but would like more info if anyone has anything useful.

As far as Iksar go, yes, this is better than SM, but no, its prolly not worth the effort. I've been on Luclin for 4 months and I haven't even gotten the items for one piece... i have like half of what i need fer a full suit, but not enough for any one piece... its a major *****, but my current stuff both blows AND sucks *** (yes, I know it sounds strange) so purty much anything is better than what I have

Iksar Shammies are not screwed. Scaled Mystic Armor is equivalent to Totemic. Plus all the components for the Scaled mystic armor drop in the zones close to Cabilis. Many Items actually drop in the Swamp of no Hope which is way underhunted... As for the stats on this piece, I must agree I would rather have a Blackened Alloy Medallion.

Then why does the totemic bp have a focus effect and the scaled mystic doesn't?

Asside from what was just said about the BP having focus, has anyone ever addressed the fact that it's the ONLY piece in the Totemic suit that DOES have a focus or effect, as well as since this is a wis based casting class why is it that in this suit, why is it that the helm is also the ONLY piece with wisdom? I will admit that I did run ALL of the totemic quests since I started picking up most of the components for them. I mainly use the suit for AC when I am soloing mobs that can really do some damage, but I also carry another suit made mostly for wisdom. I started with a base of 115 with my cat(all I could put into it) and with KEI I am up to 228 now, still looking to add more though as well as find beter AC armor to carry(Thank God for the Rallic pack and HoS now). I obviously upgrade the wisdom every chance that I get since we need all the mana we can get. I agree with the comment about rather have the Blackened Alloy Medalion, I would rather keep mine than use this one from the Twilight quest. oops hit enter!

Anyhoo Black Alloy Medallions are fairly easy to get at 35+, I could solo in RE at that level decently and I'd gladly take the 6ac 5wis/int over this piece of junk anyday of the week.
not so good?

i dunno, is it me or does the twilight quest stuff seem a lil less than desireable... i mean for most of this stuff there is better alternatives for far less risk

I am disappointed in these quests too. For the amount of work, theses items aren't all that great. And in reference to what Tonatiuh said about those who prefer questing to camping an item: Isn't it the same thing? I mean you either camp a mob for one item and you are done, or you quest which means you have to camp multiple mobs. To me its one in the same

The disappointing results continue...another item where an existing item from old world dungeons that can be solo camped is equivalent to the result of a quest that requires a group at the appropriate level.

It would be nice to see these results 'tuned' by Verant so they are in between the old world quests (Totemic, etc) and Velious/Planar gear. This stuff is just disappointing.

You do have a point there. Chryso Talisman has one less AC than this, if I remember correctly, the same WIS, and no questing involved: go down to Guk and whack one low-40s mob and it's yours. Or head on down to Runnyeye and whack a BUNCH of 'em till a BAM drops for ya...an even better item. I don't see how these items could be any riskier to get than this quest talisman, but then I haven't tried any of these quests yet, either. And, of course, there are those who prefer questing to camping an item.
