As you can see there is no 1/4 ratio for a monks bare hands untill level 25-29 ....

The damage of 5, is on level 5-9 , early enough sure, but the delay is 36.

I mean in many ways polished steel uliaks kick this things but on damage and other stats, but for leveling up the skill and for WAY better then bare hands for quite some time....

Price?

How much should I sell it for? (and I'm NOT selling it in Bazaar, I think selling a newb weapon in bazaar is stupid. Sell a Newb weapon in a Newb zone. Simple.
Also, it has a nice graphic. look's like you're holding a fire ball. Annd, this weapon also drops in Shadeweaver's Thicket. Can be found on bandits.

Bravery without Wisdom, is stupidity.

Just bought one of these off the merchant at the Monk Guild in Cabalis for about 2 gold. Just turned lvl 6, so it was a much needed/appreciated item! Thanks to whomever sold it to that guy :)
Dropped

Okay,

So this dropped for me last night of an elder at the Entrance Tunnel just prior to what is referred to as camp B1. The shroom was an Elder.

Got it from a vendor for either 1 plat or 1 gold - forget which - figure I could sell it in EC for 10 plat or so - maybe more now.
AC too

This item does in fact give an AC bonus of +1, although the graphic above doesn't show it.

I had my level 19 ranger in Paludal caves camping at the zone from Shadowhaven. Since all the bandits came in multiples every single pull (and wiped out a well equipped single ranger almost every time), I settled for the mushroom that spawns between the bandits and the zone. I used root-and-shoot: root the mob, then make it a pincushion, repeat until dead. There were a couple of different mushrooms that spawned at that point: mature and elder. These mushrooms are on a 6 minute timer. They dropped from the elders. My monk has them now and they make a nice blinking red light on each hand that they are equipped. When my monk outgrows these, they will be given to some newb monk.

I am sorry to tell you this. but yo are talking about the wrong mob here. The mob you refer to is a regular mob of the type. The Mob that drops the nice stuff is actualy in the caves that are past B1 and B2. I have lvled 5 char in PC and have either killed myself or been in on the kill of that mob at the start more times than i can count. It has never dropped anything but a lens and pieces of itself.

Go past the bandit camps. Follow the caves till you zone into Shadowweavers Thicket, which is to the right, or Hollow Shade Moore which is to the left of the caves.

Of course I will be wrong about this and will go down in a burst of white hot words. lol
Sorry about spelling. I am falling asleep as i right this.

I've seen it drop off an elder before. Was on my warr and a ranger looted it, and I swear it's the truth.

Taken a while for the white hot words, but you're wrong - it can drop off that mob, and just because you've not seen it happen, doesn't mean it doesn't.

This dropped for me for the first time ever, from a mature at the 3 mushroom spawns between SWT and SH. I've level loads of chars on those mushrooms, and must have killed hundreds.

When your monk reaches level 25 your fists will have the same damage/delay ratio as this item has.

Human monk, level 20-24: 8/36 barehanded.
Iksar monk, level 20-24: 8/36 barehanded.

Human monk, level 25-29: 9/35 barehanded.
Iksar monk, level 25-29: 9/36 barehanded.

Human monk, level 30-34: 10/34 barehanded.
Iksar monk, level 30-34: 10/35 barehanded.

Aye, but the delay is much lower. This makes it nice for dual wield, double attack, and h2h skillups, though, of course, I use a polished steel ulak in my primary, I'd probably suggest this to anyone who can afford it before level 30 or so.

Edit: anyone UNTWINKED, that is!

I can confirm that this also drops from an elder 'mushroom' (forget the exact name) that spawns near the entrance from Shadowhaven. Not sure on rarity... killed two elders, one dropped the fist. I didn't know they sold for up to 75 pp according to this post, and sold it to a vendor for a couple of silver <sigh>
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 07 2002 at 2:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I ran around killing every Shroom I saw and no fist. Did this for about 3 hours and got plenty of kills under my belt.
What drops these ?

The mushrooms in the caves. The majority have come from the Mature and the elder. Those are conning around level 15 and drop about 1 in 100.

I had an item called a Fist of Stone drop offa Stonegrabber in Mons Letalis. It was much the same as this but...

The delay was 18 and dmg was 7.
Subsitute the +1 stats for +3 stats
Substitute the +15 hps for +25 hps
There is also some AC on it as well 3 or 5.. I cannot remember.

Very, very nice item.

these are very nice for the lvl at witch you can get them, i got a pair of these with my beastlord at about lvl 19 solo, killing the sensates in paladul, they are great for training hand to hand and duel wield. max duel wield and hand to hand every lvl with these before i get 2 bbl of exp. the stats are just a bonus.
Just a note...

With a delay of 20, this item would be very good for practicing your hand to hand skill, if for some reason you neglected the skill for a while.
Decent low lvl monk fists
# Dec 28 2001 at 5:31 PM Rating: Default
As i Said these Would be decent for my 13monk, i like the fact that they can be used in secondary,
(i have an Fighting Baton in Primary(8 20)

after the luclin inflation goes down these'll probably sell for around 75-100p
(magic 1:4 ratio usually sells 50-75p, plus these have minor stats)
