On level 13, untwinked back in the day, made my money from selling CB belts and pads to people, I mastered smithing and at a skill of like 150ish was making 7/26 2wis,2cha,3agi, longswords. Which is almost than same, if not better, than this. And it only took me a few hours to master smithing. I think for such s high mob they could drops something better, I hope they sell for quite a bit to merchants.
VI never ceases to amaze me that they can put crap vendor trash on high level mobs. Thank God World of Warcrapht is coming out this year!

Looks like dark steel is just this zone's version of fine steel. /shrug

That's exactly what it is. This according to a testing GM I helped to test the zone (I play on Test).
