Frustrating, I now have two of these from camping ME and while I'm going to use one to get my 1hb up, I'm bummed I can't sell the second. Pretting nice weapon, and I don't see why it's NO DROP. Makes no sense to me.

yes it does have a visible graphic, looks like a normal wooden staff

Just wanted to post that the normal tribal gatherers can drop this. It's extremely rare for them to do so, but they will occasionally have one. I got mine off one. A couple days later saw Leader with one. Shame you can't duel wield 'em!

Ok, i'm a 47 ranger with a pathetic 1hb skill. Seeing a bunch of great 1hb weps out there now, i need to get it up (using a fast 1hb wep.) This is it. Can a 47 ranger with tolans bracer/double recurved velium bow/fleeting quiver bowkite this until about half health then whack on it with Slarghilug Spear/LSoEE and successfully kill it?

You could go toe to toe with any of the tribals at that lvl

i have a 32 iksar monk, one of my many char's ... i got the Goranga Spiked Club from ME zone. which is why i'm Torn, i got this staff last night, both this and the GSC have very cool looks imo ... Which to use and when i haven't a clue .. GSC 12, 23 ... this 8, 18 ... hmmm if only one was Secondary slot hehehe

Got this last night. It dropped off "A Tribal Leader" that spawned on the rocks in front of the ME zone, he hits quick and 105 was the max hit that I saw. About 4 hours later "A Tribal Hunter" spawned with another one.

got this the other day while in a group at GE zone killing tribals and whatnot, when someone shouted that this thing was rotting and gave its loc.... nowadays they can make that link so you can see its stats i saw the stats and ran as fast as i could and was the first one there. a little after someone asked if it got taken cuz he went LD :) i sold my CoT and put my cane of harmony in secondary and now weild this in primary i do a lot more dmg now

I'm a 36 Warrior hunting with other mid thirties. We were over near ME zone picking up tribals and anything else that at least cons dark blue when I spotted "A Tribal Hunter" that conned red. He had a shammie friend with him but the chanter mezzed the shammie easy enough while myself, another warrior, and beastlord plus pet took this guy out. He hit hard and fast but we dropped him in about a minute. I looted the staff and boy, what a replacement for my Blackjack which I had just loaned out. This has got to be the best drop in Dawnshroud IMHO.

The hunter drops the staff.
He's a tribal freak in front of Maiden Eye zone.
Expect 2 things before going after this item:
1) Everybody and their dog wants this thing and are usually camping him for it.
2) The Hunter hits hard. Very hard. Plus, his shaman buddy likes to join in on your personal demise.

Oh, and what 9 dmg bonus? That wasn't on my staff stats last time I checked.

The damage bonus you see on the weapon above is based largely on the level of the person posting it, and their class. My bard has a damage bonus of 8, at level 50. My warrior, at level 40, had a damage bonus of about 2-4 on most weapons.

The damage bonus isn't listed under the weapon specs like the pic above shows. That's what I meant.

I was one lucky guy today I was told there is not any good loot in this zone wrong!!!!! this guy has a few HPs tho, but we took him 2 mid 30 warriors a druid and a cleric without alot of trouble

I was up in Dawnshroud with a 43 BeastLord and myself ( a lvl 40 Monk ) and had come across the Hunter with the staff thinking it was some cheap twohanded staff. We were wrong. We both Rolled for it and ended up the Beastlord winning.. but we both stuck around and eventually another popped after solely hunting the Hunters.. no lookouts and definitely no Gatherer's since they were conning light blue and some even green to the Beastlord. what seems odd though is that everyone else seemed to have a large amount of trouble killing him with the staff. We had no problem what-so-ever with just me being a 40 monk,and a 43 BeastLord and his pet. Was kinda put off with that 45 War and 45 Druid no being able to handle him with ease.. were you pulling with half health or something!?

Was just 47 Ding :) saw this wep on the boards and thought i would give it a shot solo.. found the mob alone with the staff.. pet and I were ready for him.. as we were hunting the zone for just him.. was able to hit for up to 93 with that thing on me.. with slow and 2 dots on him.. i was at 2 bubs and Pylon was at half. Was a good clean battle with no adds and reward was the staff. As was mentioned earlier, IF youre ready for him.. hes not that bad.

Not hard when you are ready for him. Like I said, the Druid only had traveling and buffing spells up and we had an add. A 45 druid can solo him but I doubt a 45 warrior or monk can solo him toe to toe.

That is because you had a beastlord with you, slow makes all the difference when an NPC is weilding an 18 delay weapon.
Aye , letting the warrior get hit less is like getting the healer free mana to use as they wish. Other thing to consider would be personal equiptment,yes twinking does help that is why people do it, and how some classes fight with/against others.

I try to get one of these Sambata War Staff last night with my 45 troll warrior. Got a 45 druid partner, I am swinging the Wurmy and Centi LS. We were killing the tribal by the ME zone for a little and a hunter without the staff popped. We kill him with no problem. Most of the mobs we’ve been killing were light blue and probably low blues so the druid only has her traveling and buff spells up. Then the hunter with a staff popped and I went to pull him to the ME zone and a wolf popped up so we got an add. I figured no problem, we’ve handle a tribal and wolf before. WRONG ! This time the hunter hits fast and hard, the druid can’t heal me fast enough and I was too low in health to try to run, druid zoned after I was killed.
I was binded in the Nexus, a few minutes later I got back. Hoping nobody has killed him yet. Well he was still up :-). This time the druid med up and got her nuking, dot, and rooting up. She went to snare pull him, rooted him, and started on the dots and nukes. I kept him busy if he broke root so she can recast on him...The druid was about 50m when he started running, so I finished him off. BTW, he got me down below 50% in health even with that little tanking I was doing without the add this time.
Now I am a happy owner of the Staff. Looks like it won’t be better than the wrumy til I am 52, but it is a good weapon to keep my 1hb up since I only have a blackjack and a sap of pieity now.
So be careful if u try to tank this guy.

I have a Sambata War staff and Wu's Trance stick.
Sambata War staff will do about the same damage as Wu's Trance stick if you factor in the Smite proc. (Has to proc at least once in a minute).
The big drawback is the weight on the war staff.
I use the war staff when I'm not booned and the trance stick when I am booned. My dex is only 108 and I'm lucky if I get an average proc rate of 1 per minute. I keep the staff in my 100 percent weight reduction pack when I am heavy with loot.

All yall are sayin from the tribal sambatas near Maiden's Eye zone. Are you guys getting these from the wandering sambatas, and the ones out at the rock, straight outside of EC tunnel? Or are you getting them from the Rockhopper cave, from the Sambata's in there after you kill the Age Old RockhoppeR?
Well im kiting zelniaks and someone shouts this has dropped. Im not even 15 seconds away so I run over just to inspect. Im expecting it to be crappy just because MOST drops here are. To my suprise it was this. I waited till the last minute to see if a monk was coming but none did and with 15 seconds I looted. I personally like the graphics on it. Quite diffrent. And someone below said it has the same graphic as a cracked staff while in inventory. NOPE, it looks like a metal pipe. The only sad thing is bought a JM only a few days ago. =P

Saw this on a Tribal Hunter (as others have said) near ME. He hit REALLY hard and fast with it, unlike most hunters in the area. Looted it to improve my 1HB skill.
