Book Text:

Time after time, I've been
in need of a quick escape.
From what I hear, I'm not
the only one with such
needs. So I am sending
this little discovery to a
few of my closest friends.
If you've obtained this
document from someone other
than myself, don't try to
make this. If you do and
you blow yourself into a
few hundred pieces, I will
not be held responsible.
So if you aren't one of
those that should have this
document, please return it
or just destroy it. It
will only bring you harm.

Now, for the rest of you,
here's what you'll need.

First, make the fuel. If
you end up with some extra,
that's fine. I suspect
you'll be able to find
several interesting uses
for it.

Grab yourself some
firewater. You'll probably
need a couple of bottles.
Then add a dose of
saltpeter for each bottle
(though I do NOT recommend
doubling up this recipe,
just make the volume I'm
listing, or you might lose
a few dozen fingers). Add
to that two doses of
Sulfurous Coal. Then
GENTLY stir in two doses of
High Quality Carbon Powder.
GENTLY! Obviously you'll
need one gnomish heat
source, but the final and

key ingredient is Chronal
Resonance Dust. One dose
of that stuff is enough.
Mix all that together,
slowly and carefully, and
you should have some
serious fuel.

Now you just need a way to
funnel all that energy and
guide it properly. You'll
want to start with a good
steel casing. In fact,
you'll need two. Sharkskin
tubing is about the only
thing you can use to move
the fuel that won't just
melt. You'll need some
cloth cord for the, well,
fuse. A couple of sheets
of medium quality sheet
metal will help protect the
cargo (that's you). Don't
use the cheap stuff or

you'll probably die. But
don't waste money on the
best stuff either, since
this is the part that will
crumple so that you don't.

Of course to finish it off
you'll need a clockwork
gear and some standard
gears. Build the device
with those parts according
to the plans attached,
sliding in the Advanced
Propulsion Unit only at the
last moment. I'd also
suggest running away right
after that, just in case.

Once you've built the
thing, you can refuel it
easily enough buy just
adding more fuel to the
escape device.

Good luck. I hope you
don't die.
