There is no special look to this mace... It just looks like a regular rusty weapon in hand.
It could have at least had the same look as a Blackened Mace. :(

dmg donus does not vary on class i have 48 ranger and i know 48 warrior both dmg bonuses r 7

This dropped off a named vampire in the castle. It had an estimated 15-20k hps and was almost totally MR, especially w/o a chanter. Long fight but not bad if you have healing power and melees. If no neg fire resist and range equipable it would be even nicer ;).

It drops from one of the named flying vamps in Tenebrous Mnts., it is tough, near the end e starts casting a spell.. my lvl 25 pally (at the time 25 now 29, need to change profile) died in 2 of these, they do about 354 per hit. Its something like swords of rage, i dunno, but be sure to have alot of MR if you want this weapon. BTW to answer that, i was there because my guild decidid it was ok that i came just to see the zone, we were trying to get that one shield that had to do w/ the undead kitty. Hehe, tough fight but rewarding, gave the mace to my Druid.. lvl 4. Good luck trying to get this, all the flying vamps are hard to kill, but its worth it. all you need is a tank, a cleric, a chanter, and other assorted damagers. thats all.

The stats are comparable, and if it really costs 8k to buy, it's just not worth it. On Tunare you can buy a Dark Ember for 1k or less, and 5mana 2str 5agi 2ac 5svPD -5svF is not worth 7k.
Just one point for you -- it is newbie looking. Same graphic as a rusty mace.
As for upgrade from DE? Yup. Swapped it in for my old Dark Ember.
Why? Better stats all around and the 5 FR took my FR from 120 to 110. I do Seasons and I'm at 165 vs 175. Not so big a diff where I go and the PR / DR are very nice.
Have halfway epic and will have full epic by end of next week so this puppy is gone but it was a nice toy for a while.
