Ruins of Kunark
If you are hunting the Bloodgills and come across one of these, run to the windmill and sell it ASAP. You will get roughly 55pp for it.
Since they are lore, you can then keep/sell the next one. I would say that 1 in 20 bloodgills carries one of these.
Just be sure you don't lose your camp ;-)

I killed about 120 or so of these with my mage and only gotten one.

Well, when i turned lvl 18 I journeyed into the Lake. I was there maybe 5 minutes and i got a tell. Hey, what weapon you using? I said bloodclaw of the stilleto. 6dmg 22dly affect Bloodclaw not bad for that lvl. I wasn't twinked at all so i thought it was pretty good. Then he said well come to the mill and i will give you this harpoon. Not to shabby for a lvl 18. Very nice person. I asked him how much for it and he said its free. I get them all the time and usually just sell to the merchants. He said he averaged 1 in ever 10 kills. That doesn't sound rare to me. Well, now i'm lvl 41 so about time to go fight them myself and find out.
Now i use a grimling mining pick 12dmg 27dly and a Greater owlbear beak 7dmg 23dly but +3str and some other stats. Working on getting a Treaweave, then time to get some new weapons.
I play on the povar server.

OK i was in loio andgot about 6 of them from maybe 30 kills. well they do sell for like 6pp though which is actually pretty good.

Actually it sells to vendors for approx 56pp.
This weapon is also available to the beastlord. I hve it.

GEEZ oki know people that get atleast 4 of these camping bg's for maybe 2 hours. guildies camp these all the time. everytime im on its "got another Poonie who wants it. EVERYTIME. they usually end up giving it to the first person who can get to them first. not rare maybe uncommon but definatly not rare.

I've had this for a couple of levels ( a guildie gave it to me) and i would rather have somthing higher damage. I've had a bs fang but I want higher damage than that so i can bs better, in my off hand I have a guardian dagger. Any one have any recommendations for what to sell/trade this for on vazaelle? Everything is dirt cheap there.

I killed approximately 12 spawn cycles of the Bloodgills (approx 172 MoBs) and I only had one drop of the Harpoon - I would consider that pretty rare....

I've seen it in less than that. Maybe 20 kills.

Hehe, I got one of these for free to. Guy just handed it to me. Unfortunately....I think....I couldn't use it because I have a better weapon and they are both PRM only. The Slime Coated Harpoon, you gotta try dis thing. Just about the same as the Harpoon of the Depths, but 2 more dmg)
Lol.a Slime Coated Harpoon is way more then the Harpoon of the Depths. Look at the states VERY CLOSLY and i think you'll see.

Fighting Baton sells for about 5 times more (and is monk only, not sure if you knew) so you probably won't be able to trade.

Hiya all,
i currently am a 23rd rogue on Vazaelle and i am dual wielding a crystal grinder (9/27 +2ac) in my primary slot, and a serrated bone dirk (8/27 eff: engulf drkness)...
i need your help, i want to know if it would be better to sell my sbd (since it doesnt proc for another 4 lvls) and get a harpoon of the depths for my primary and the crystal grinder in my secondary...
i thought of this because the harpoon has a tad bit lower delay and +20hp.. also it looks freaking sweeeet...
any advice? thanks

just upgraded me BS fang for one of these. I love it even though i dont get the same backstab i definetly can fend myself when jumped alot better then i could when i had BS fang. And the +2 dex and +20 hp aint bad either.

the stats are Agi +4 Dex +3. I think the Dam/Dly is 6/24. its near there.

I used to use the Bloodstained Fang, and recently switched to the harpoon (and prefer it). One thing that I have noticed is that, when fighting, my fatigue level(the yellow bar)goes down. Any explanation? Is it because it is heavier? Is there anything I can do for this?

Yes, it weighs 6.5 and has a delay of 25. Your stamina bar will go down based on three things during melee:
your STA rating
your weapon's weight
how much you swing it (delay, haste etc..)
If fatigue runs out you can't jump and other stats start to go down. If your STA is under 100, you will begin to swing your weapons more slowly. Always important for small race melees to keep it over 100 STA for that reason.
This thing isn't too bad, for a *really* nasty fatigue drainer check out the Bezerker's Axe or something like that I think its 22 dly and weights 8.5 or so hehe.

From what I've seen, experianced and heard the only things that effect how fast you fatigue in fights is the weapon wieght and you STA score. I'm a warrior and often use heavy 2 handed weapons and the way I solve the problem is the kindly ask your cleric to toss you and invigor or some other stamina recovery spell when you get down to about 2 yellow bubs. After that you can't do much running or much more fighting before you're toast.

I also noticed my fatigue bar going down faster then normal when I had this equipped. I wonder if weapon speed is used in the calculation? I had been using a Forrest Giant Hammer to work up 1hb and my bar did not drop so fast even though the hammer was heavier and the fights took longer because of my low skill.

I have noticed that this happens with different weapons. As far as I can tell it is the weight to delay ratio that causes it. I think all weapons make your stamina drop, but for most of them you regain it faster than you lose it so it isn't noticiable. I may be way off, but I think that is how it works.

The ratio is about the same, but you also get the +hp and dex. This is better than the BS Fang.
