Look.. here's the deal... Before you decide to post, be sure you know what you are talking about... do NOT tell people to ignore this and quit trying to look like you have a brain.. obviously if you do it doesn't work. This item is NOT elven chain.. it is elven CHAINMAIL.. they are two TOTALLY seperate items.. get your facts straight before you post.
I smith this stuff and have never seen it make anything with these stats. So how do you actually make this exact item then? If you look at eqtraders there are 3 different recipes for this armor.
One for Elven Chainmail (pieces are labeled "elven chainmail" other than coif, which is labeled "elven chain") --This has no stats its just caster wearable chain
One for Enchanted Elven (some pieces are labeled "enchanted elven chain", others are labeled "enchanted elven chainmail") --AC 14, WIS 4, INT 4, sv magic 2, wt 1.5,
And one for Imbued Elven Chaimail (some pieces are labeled "imbued elven chain", others are labeled "imbued elven chainmail") --AC 14, INT 5, WIS 5, CHA 2, sv magic 2, wt 1.5
I have made a bunch of these suits and not once seen the stats listed here. I have made suits of all 3 types and the stats are consistant with what is listed on eqtraders. So why do you feel the need to flame posts and berate people? If you have info proving otherwise then share it, and stop flaming saying you are right and everyone is wrong. I post a comment on what I know to be true and I get attacked by someone for it, no wonder a lot of these comment sections haven't been posted on in a year. I have personally made the following many times.
Imbued Elven Chain Tunic (Tunare) +14 AC +5 Wis +5 Int +2 Cha +2 vsMg +1.50 Wt Crafted No Effects 1 Imbued Elven Chainmail Leggings (Tunare) +8 AC +3 Wis +3 Int +2 Cha +4 vsMg +1.00 Wt Crafted No Effects 1 Imbued Elven Chain Coif (Tunare) +8 AC +3 Wis +3 Int +2 Cha +4 vsMg +0.60 Wt Crafted No Effects 1 Imbued Elven Chaimail Sleeves (Tunare) +7 AC +3 Wis +3 Int +2 Cha +4 vsMg +0.70 Wt Crafted No Effects 1 Imbued Elven Chainmail Gloves (Tunare) +7 AC +3 Wis +3 Int +2 Cha +2 vsMg +0.70 Wt Crafted No Effects 1 Imbued Elven Chainmail Boots (Tunare) +7 AC +3 Wis +3 Int +2 Cha +2 vsMg +1.00 Wt Crafted No Effects Imbued Elven Chain Cape (Tunare) +7 AC +4 Wis +4 Int +2 Cha +4 vsMg +0.70 Wt Crafted No Effects Imbued Elven Chainmail Skirt (Tunare) +6 AC +3 Wis +3 Int +2 Cha +2 vsMg +0.40 Wt Crafted No Effects 1 Imbued Elven Chain Neckguard (Tunare) +6 AC +3 Wis +3 Int +2 Cha +2 vsMg +0.20 Wt Crafted No Effects Imbued Elven Chain Mantle (Tunare) +6 AC +3 Wis +3 Int +2 Cha +2 vsMg +0.70 Wt Crafted No Effects Imbued Elven Chainmail Bracelet (Tunare) +5 AC +3 Wis +3 Int +2 Cha +2 vsMg +0.20 Wt Crafted No Effects 1 Imbued Elven Chain Veil (Tunare) +4 AC +3 Wis +3 Int +2 Cha +2 vsMg +0.20 Wt Crafted No Effects 1
as you notice some are called chain others are chaimail, so instead of attacking me like a child, just explain what takes place for the same recipe to make 2 different tunics
p.s. I do have a brain, and works quite well thankyou.
The stats listed above are for enchanter elven chainmail not Imbued. The difference is that Imbued chainmail is Tunare only, but enchanted can be worn by a follewer of any god as long as the character is either a wood elf half elf or high elf.
The answer is BECAUSE THEY ARE 2 DIFFERENT ITEMS!!! The stats for this item ARE CORRECT!! You and many others looking at these posts are mistaking the Imbued Elven Chainmail for the Imbued Elven Chain... YES THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT ITEMS AND BOTH CAN BE CRAFTED!!! I HAVE MADE BOTH!! I am NOT going to go through each and every post to correct your mistakes.. THIS ITEM IS NOT THE ELVEN CHAIN!! PLEASE make sure you are posting on the CORRECT item people!!
The stats are NOT wrong.. the stats you posted are for the Imbued Elven Chain Tunic... not this item which happens to be the Imbued Elven ChainMAIL Tunic.. there IS a difference.. mainly ummm.. lemme see.. ummm... oh ya.. THEY ARE TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT ITEMS!!!

Got myself a set today on Xegony. Qanya is the smith that made it for me. Very nice, very reliable. If you want her to make you some, i'm sure she'd love the business.. Try to collect some temper materials tho.. namely swirling mist and morning dew, she's runnin a bit low. But, the Xegony smith HAS BEEN FOUND!
If you can find someon on xegony to make this please have them email me at tterbmas@aol.com I will buy a full set of this armor at 10k if not enough please email me your minimum price of the whole set
This info was posted on the first page, but some people are evidently still having questions about it. Here's some clarifications:
1- The Enchant Mithril spell no longer requires blue diamonds, which cuts down the cost A LOT from what it origionally was. However, the highest-level high elf smith on my server told me that it costs about 6000 plat to get a skill raise at the point he's at, but he still refuses to make a tunic unless I supply enough moonlight tempers for 3 attempts. This stuff is still VERY expensive.
2- There are 3 versions of high-elf chainmail: regular, enchanted, and enchanted with Tunare imbument. You can't imbue the armor if it's not enchanted.
Iam level 27 tunare druid, and just wondering...what spell do i use to imbue emerald?only imbue spell i know off is imbue plains peeble..but i might be wrong, shrug
At level 29 there is a spell available to druids and clerics of Tunare called Imbue Emerald. The only place you can purchase this spell that I know of is the clerics guild in Felwithe.
Just Made A bunch of various pieces tonight...just to let you know, that at a smithing skill of 208, i had about a 50% success rate overall (tunics, greaves, gloves, sleeves, skirt)...i didn't even bother trying to make a cloak.
Congratulations, very nice! Were all the pieces you enchanted/imbued? If so you might have stats for a couple unknown pieces (greaves in particular...actually, I don't think I've seen stats on enchanted greaves either). Also, what were your wis/int/str stats? Str in particular affects your success rate, I imagine it must have been very high to get a 50% success rate at skill 208 (either that or you were very lucky...:)
(Edit: It turns out that str affects skill increase rate, not success rate, as Yakatizma told Niami Denmother sometime in mid June...)
Imbued greaves are AC8, cha2, Wis3, Int3, SvM+4 The enchanted I believe is AC8, Wis2, Int2, SvM+4 (enchanted typically loses the cha of imbued and is a point less in wis and int)
All the pieces that I made were imbued, With my chanter, who has a 109wis, 184int, and a 70str
So far i've had the most failures with greaves (im not willing to risk losing all those materials attempting a cloak).
Guys many of you I guess have'nt read Palarran, Sage post where he went into deatil of what the recipe is for this item, and what the cost should be like if you provide the High Elf smith with the components and what it should be like if you don't provide any components. Scroll up, many of you missed that important info cause your only looking at the bottom half posts. He made the post on Mon, Apr 23rd 4:19 AM. Arrakeen Naed'Shoj said it costed over 3k to make it, not so, since Sage Palaarran said in the end it should SELL for about 3k IF you made one and had to collect the components yourself. ~Sare~ says he/she is collecting blue diamonds, blue diamonds are nolonger needed everyone, Sage Palaarran also mentioned that, Smiths were asking verant to change that and they did, and another is saying this piece of Armor would cost 7k? Thats to much, there's better gear out there worth that price. I read all 38 posts so far, yet way at the bottom of this, some are still saying blue diamonds are needed and asking for the recipe *shakes head* read everything guys! just my 2cents worth.
Does anyone know if a Wood elf druid smith would beable to forge this tunic as well? I am looking to have one of these and decided to train myself in Smithing instead of buying one, since i know no smiths. But i wont waste the time if it is impossible for me to make.

Posted:Mar 23 2001 at 2:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I am a Hi Elf Blacksmith on Tallon Zek, interested in producing this armor. I have a smithing level of 176...but, expect this to keep go up. I would like to make this tunic, eventually. So, here's the deal...for anyone interested in finding and obtaining one, I will work out a trade for blue diamonds, Morning Temper and my smithing skillls to produce these. You can Email me at jujugirl@kscable.com Thanks, jujugirl
Can enchanters that do not follow tunare wear this armor? I know they can not imbue the gems, but can they get the gems from someones else. Make the armor and wear it?
Unless you supply the blue diamonds, you're not likely to see this tunic for under 10k, thanks to jewelcraft inflating the price of blue diamonds. Blue diamonds seem to go for 1.5k to 2k on Ayonae Ro, and I've seen similar reports from other servers. Each ATTEMPT at this tunic consumes 3 blue diamonds plus a moonlight temper. The failure rate is also extremely high; very few smiths are going to have more than a 20% or so success rate on this, if that. So 10k is on the very low end of what to expect. Considering what else you can get for 10k+, it's probably not going to happen.
Many smiths are upset about how the reward doesn't come close to matching the cost, and are trying to get the component required to enchant mithril changed to something less expensive than a blue diamond, perhaps a ruby or a black pearl. (Another alternative would be boosting the stats...)
In any case, wait to see if such a change is made to cultural smithing, then ask again.
Palarran Taurina, 51 druid Bunnies of Chaos Ayonae Ro
Well, it happened...blue diamonds are no longer required to make this. Woohoo!
Now the price is mostly dependent on the moonlight tempers, and other things you can do to make things easier for the smith. I would expect to pay about 5x cost outright, or perhaps 2x cost per attempt. At least this is what I expect to ask once my high elf is ready to attempt the armor...
Cost per attempt: *The store bought materials cost about 40pp. *Moonlight temper is probably worth somewhere between 250-500pp. You will save a lot of money if you can provide this, or at least the main components needed to make it (two essences of moonlight and a vial of swirling mist--the morning dew is easy enough to get). *The 3 morning dew plus silk swatch would be worth about 10pp. *Having 3 bricks of mithril enchanted by a 49+ enchanter might cost, say, 50pp. *Having the emerald imbued by a 29+ cleric/druid who follows Tunare might be 10pp.
Add in 100pp worth of teleports to the final cost.
So if you provide however many essences of moonlight are needed (depends on the skill of the smith), the cost per attempt--to the smith--is about 110pp, making your price about (5*110)+100=650pp, plus maybe 5 moonlight tempers. Some smiths might agree to be paid in moonlight tempers alone.
However if you do not provide any moonlight tempers, the price jumps up quite a bit: (5*(110+250))+100=1900pp (5*(110+500))+100=3150pp
So 2k-3k or so would make sense, I think. Probably 3k since high elf smiths with the skill to make this reliably are very rare. It might sell for even more just because of the look--caster wearable chainmail. The moderately useful stats let people show it off in battle too.
I was looking over your Post.. and you where very good at telling the price but i did not see anywhere i could find the items that are needed for the thing ';=) i realy hope that you can help me.
Hmm, not sure whether you're asking what the components are or how to find them (or something else?), but I might as well cover both...
Raw materials to be collected for each attempt: 2 essences of moonlight 1 swirling mist 4 morning dew 2 spider silks (or 1 silk swatch) 1 tunic chainmail pattern 3 large bricks of mithril 1 elven smithy hammer (reusable) 1 emerald 1 file (reusable)
Combine 2 essences of moonlight, 1 swirling mist, and 1 morning dew in a brew barrel. This produces a moonlight temper, trivial at brewing skill 135. Combine 2 spider silks in a sewing kit (small or large, or coldain tanning kit). This produces a silk swatch, trivial at tailoring skill 15 (guaranteed success). Combine a file, a large brick of mithril and a morning dew in the Koada'dal Forge in Felwithe. This produces mithril rings, trivial at or below smithing skill 175 (probably more like 41?) Do this 3 times. Have a level 29+ cleric or druid, one who worships Tunare, imbue an emerald. The spell Imbue Emerald is sold at the North Karana druid ring and in the cleric guild in Felwithe. Finally combine 1 moonlight temper, 1 silk swatch, 3 mithril rings, 1 tunic chainmail pattern, an elven smithy hammer and an imbued emerald in the Koada'dal Forge to make the Imbued Elven Chain Tunic. Trivial level is unknown but likely near or above 250.
How to get the components...
* Essence of moonlight: Drops off undead creatures in mistmoore and dread wolves in kithicor (haven't checked if things like enraged dread wolves drop them too though). This is one of the most difficult components to get. Both dread wolves and undead creatures in mistmoore should be around level 30, and they seemed to drop essence of moonlight once every 10-20 times on average--this is based on a small sample and could easily be inaccurate. I also haven't hunted them in a while so the drop rate may have increased. I've been told that the best way to get undead to spawn in mistmoore is to start killing as many creatures as possible starting around 5 PM game time, since the time of day affects whether creatures will respawn as living or undead.
* Swirling mist: Drops off steam elementals in Steamfont, mist elementals in Najena, and apparently the huge water elemental in Lower Guk (haven't seen it happen myself though). Again the drop rate seems to be about 1 in 10-20, but both steam elementals and mist elementals are somewhat rare spawns making this probably the most difficult component to get. Usually earth elementals spawn in place of them. I wouldn't recommend camping the huge water elemental for vials of swirling mist, that would be a tremendous waste of time. The best way to get them seems to be vendor mining in Steamfont, mainly the vendors in the windmills but also around and inside Ak'anon. (Vendor mining is a whole separate topic, I can explain it in a separate post if needed.)
* Morning dew: Foraged in Greater Faydark and Lesser Faydark, and also a ground spawn in Lesser Faydark. Since it is a zone-specific foraged item a skill of over 100 in foraging is needed, so only druids and rangers (and possibly iksar?) can forage morning dew. At least that used to be the case, I've heard that it might be forageable below 100 now. In Greater Faydark since the only other zone-specific foraged item is the ripened heartfruit (very rare) I can usually get 3 or 4 morning dew an hour with a 200 foraging skill. I only get about 2 an hour foraging in Lesser Faydark since about half the time that I get a zone-specific foraged item in Lesser Faydark it's sylvan berries instead of morning dew. As for the ground spawns, the trick is to know the 10 or so places that morning dew will spawn around (within a fixed distance). The faerie camp on the west side of the zone, the dark elves on the south side, and the ruins by mistmoore are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head, but every place I've seen has been within sight of a zone wall. Morning dew looks like a small green rectangle on the ground (same look as morning dew, oak bark, misty acorns, and yew leaves) and is hard to spot from a distance, so ultravision and an overhead camera angle help a lot. I've been told that there are at least 5 morning dew on the ground at a time, and that one will spawn within a minute or so of picking one up (but most of the time not in the same place). Oh, and if you go by the dark elves, be careful--the priestess there is a level 45ish cleric with around 15k hp. She's a quest NPC so she's tougher than normal. Watch out for brownies too, unless you can get wolf form (or possibly an elemental form?) that will make you indifferent to brownies if you haven't been hunting them.
* Spider silks come from most spiders in Antonica, and possibly other places. Crag spiders in East Karana and the heart spiders and Upper Guk seem to be the fastest sources, but since only a small quantity is needed, the large/giant spiders in the commonlands, carrion spiders in East Karana, desert tarantulas, etc. should be fine. Young spiders like spiderlings and large jungle spiders drop spiderLING silk though, which is the wrong kind.
* Large bricks of mithril, the elven smithy hammer and the tunic chain pattern are sold upstairs in the Shop of All Holds in Felwithe. Chain patterns from other places may or may not work, though they would probably have to be the same size as the ones sold in Felwithe (medium I think). Note that chainmail patterns are not the same as the patterns sold by tailoring vendors.
* Emeralds are sold by many gem vendors, including one upstairs in the Shop of All Holds.
* A file comes from combining a file mold, metal bits and a flask of water in an ordinary forge. If you want to make one near Felwithe, the file mold is sold in Kelethin and the small pieces of ore come from the windmills in Steamfont.
Most of this information comes from EQTraders, by far the best website I've seen for information on trade skills. I just rearranged it and put in what I've learned from my own experience. I'd be happy to answer any other questions, but in most cases you'll find an answer faster by checking EQTraders yourself. :)
>Combine a file, a large brick of mithril >and a morning dew in the Koada'dal Forge >in Felwithe. This produces mithril rings, >trivial at or below smithing skill 175 >(probably more like 41?) Do this 3 times.
One small correction - each combine here will yeild 2 rings so you can do it twice to get the 3 rings you need. Another point is that you have to get a level 49 enchanter to enchant the mithril before you make it into rings in order to use them to smith enchanted or imbued chain.
Also, you can expect the moonlight and swriling mist to drop on about 1 of 6 or so. That's when you can get the mist elementals and undead to spawn...
Hey, it could be worse - they could have required a leather padding too.
