Ya know haste isnt just on belts....
Haste Schmaste...

Let the Chanters/Shammies worry about giving you haste...MORE AC you have the LESS DAMAGE you take, BOTTOM ___Line___. Not all haste items are belts anyway...

Um.. I took this off for my FBSS and considering I'm hitting the mobs much more quicker now, guess what? They go down quick.

Therefore I'm taking less hits.

Not to mention I have an easier time maintaining aggro and that a shammy and chater's haste stacks with my FBSS.

So an FBSS is much better than this item. AC is very important but unless the item has some incredible AC on it, it is definately not worth giving up haste for.

The belt is in my bank though, I'll be going back to it once I replace the FBSS with another Haste item that's not in the waste slot.

As a cleric I can say, I would rather that a warrior have hast to keep the mob off of me, then to have more AC. `Cause if the warrior can't keep the aggro and the mob kills me, he is going to die anyways.... Just my 2cp
RE: Silly Silly warriors...

Maybe it's the Clerics who are silly. I have repeatedly told Clerics that I am grouped with that they shouldn't waste their mana healing me until I get below 40% of my health. Instead, as soon as my HP starts dropping, they start casting heal on my like it's going out of style and, of course, the mob aggroes onto them. If they let me duke it out with the mob till I was down around 40% health, or even a little lower, before they started healing me, not to bring my health all the way back up, but just to keep it at that level, then the chances of a mob aggroing onto them because of their heals is a lot smaller. Just my 2cp. :D

I agree that for a high level warrior, haste is probably more important than 10 ac and a little strength, but the point is, these are not planes drops, or even velious. They were dropping in EK off level 12 and up mobs. My lvl 14 (fifteen by end of event, ding!) warrior looted one off a giant spider that he killed by himself, solo. It was a WONDERFUL upgrade for his banded belt. It will be a long time before he will be buying a haste item like FBSS. Also got the helm, which was a nice upgrade from bronze, the bracer, again great upgrade from banded, and the necklace with all the saves. OK, lost 2 ac on that, but gained 10 to all saves. fair enough trade, and probably will love this item when I get him up to high levels. Damn, I wish I had gotten that sword!
belt and haste

if you are using dual !hs with low delay as it is you wont need haste but if your wielding a two hand slash you might need haste because they are just slower

Got this off a ghoulish fiend in EK, thanks to someone who held it for me, gave them a tome of unseen darkness as a reward for it, it's an awesome belt, considering I was wearing, literally a no-stat belt before. (It was an apron. O.o) Anywho, wicked belt, I suggest you get it, I also got the helm of an Arachnid Mite, believe it or not, but I was disapointed when I found that, 'cause my foreman's skull cap seems better to me. Ah well, sell the skull cap, make some cash, keep the battle helm!

Have a good one.

FBSS vs AC belt
# Nov 02 2001 at 1:43 PM Rating: Excellent
From 1-50 approximately, you should be able to easily maintain aggro with two quick weapons. During that time, this belt is great. After 50, it will become much more difficult to maintain aggro. Of course, post 50, most people who have to worry about that will have a better haste item than FBSS, fitting in some other slot. So keep this belt up till 50 unless you can find something with a better AC/Stat combo. Or until you start noticing that you can no longer maintain aggro.

Regardless, this is a very nice item. That's why I submitted it. My warrior is glad to have it.
AGGRO rules the world of a warrior
# Nov 02 2001 at 1:23 PM Rating: Good
W/o aggro, you are not doing your job. That is why you don't see many warriors out there with the Wurmslayer. Too damn slow. That's why you do see them out there with lammys, IBC's, and the like. Aggro, daniel-san, aggro.

Edit: this is to try to clear up the haste over ac debate, one that I wondered about too, until I had to taunt off a 50+ rogue with the Killstealer. ;)
yes, very good belt for mid levels

I replaced my thick leather apron with this as well. Its very nice for a non-twinked level 30.
Excellent belt. . .

This is a great belt no matter how you slice it. It's am excellent upgrade to my straw spun belt, same AC, but the added bonus stats, make it a no brainer, especially the STR. Plus the fact that it only weighs .5, means I'll be able to carry more stuff around with me. I don't think I'll ever use an FBSS as my primary belt. It just doesn't make sense. AC is king! Maybe if I save up several thousand PP that I don't need, I'll buy an FBSS just for soloing, but otherwise, this is a great belt.

This is a very nice belt, BUT an FBSS is more useful as has been stated. AC is king, but if you can't maintain agro then it doesn't mean diddly squat. Try to out taunt a ranger with an epic and a monk with his epic without ANY haste items. Guess what? The ranger died again and the monk is FD to survive. You can balance out the AC loss with your other equipment slots. The only way I would replace my FBSS is if I got another haste item. Which I did, a Belt of Contention. I have fought with groups where there were no haste buffers. I could easily maintain agro because of my haste belt and my eye patch of plunder haste buff. As to getting other haste items, the fbss is easier to get than most warrior haste items. Try rolling against 20 other melees on a naggy raid for a CoF. Crystal chitin handwraps? You lose 20ac because you are not wearing cobalt gaunts rather than 10ac to a belt. What qualifies me to comment? I AM a level 54 warrior.

If I were grouped with a Ranger with his epic, and a Monk with his epic, then odds are that I would be close to having my own epic, if I didn't already, and that I would have numerous haste items on me. I don't disagree with your point about the higher lvl Warrior's needing haste. However, I still say this is an excellent belt for lower lvl characters. Mid-teens to upper-twenties, if not higher. At that level, you are still grouped with players who are used to getting hit. Players who don't panic when one of their spells cause the mob to aggro onto them. Players who will stand still long enough for you to get in several hits on the mob and get the aggro back, instead of running around all over the place forcing you to chase not only them, but the mob in order to regain the aggro. Too many times I have had to stand guard over the body of a caster who started running away as soon as the first blow was landed on him, as if by running, the mob would lose interest in him. If he had only stood still for a few seconds so I could hit the mob, he could have then backed off and I would have had the aggro again. I am lvl 26, and I still use this belt. Yes, I do still lose mobs sometimes, but 9 times out of ten, I can get them back without too much trouble.

This is a very nice belt for a 35 War. Why would you want to pay 6k for an FBSS? What are you, a monk? Warriors are not supposed to be doing that much damage, and people don't recruit them for their damage dealing abilities. We get groups because of AC and because of our HP. Is the FBSS procing going to save your life, or make it end quicker, because you're doing more damage and you have less AC as well...Your decision tho, I guess.

Haste = more chances to hit mob = more agro for warrior = less agro for other group members.

AC is good, hps are good, but both mean very little if the mob isn't hitting (or trying to hit) you.

Warriors has to do damage to be able to keep aggro often, that is why warriors use haste items.

I saw all of these items drop that were upgrades even to all of my 45+ friends, yet when it comes to warrior drops, there either ISN'T any, or it's crap like this... Good stats, but will I replace my FBSS for this? NO! Thanks a lot for leaving out the main tanks!

poor warriors ? warriors need haste over AC ? there is a reason people call warriors meatshields. you stand there , swing and take damage , less ac and resists you have the faster you gonna fall down and go boom

just so you complaining ppl that argue that your character is getting screwed, just remember that you would not be happy with any class then , so just say everyone is getting screwed not just your class. there is a reason one class can do something another class cant. if you wanna be a bit of everything ... there are other games out there ....

You are either disgruntled, and have few friends, or raid a lot. Because.. as a warrior, good luck being main assist if this is your logic. How are you going to keep aggro off rogues, rangers, and monks? In a raid there should be an enchanter to cast swift like the wind so not a big deal, hence my viewpoint.. And most post 50 warriors I've spoken with pretty much agree...heck even a few here that posted agree.. so, what's your problem?
RE: Verant Hates Warriors
# Nov 01 2001 at 7:50 PM Rating: Default
Why wouldn't you upgrade from a FBSS...this has 10ac where a FBSS has 0ac...any good warrior would wear this instead of a little haste.
RE: Verant Hates Warriors

I kind of doubt ANY warrior would trade this in for a FBSS, but definitely the smarter ones. Also, by what grounds is this crap? This is an exceptional belt. You warriors are all alike..

In my opinion stats on items are on this priority.

1) Haste
2) AC
3) Resists
4) Stats

And, of course, that doesn't apply to weapons. So if I ever come across an FBSS it will take a lot better belt (like Pegasus Hide =) ) to replace it.

but there are other slots that have haste items... ie back, hands and face... and these items have ac as well, so if you have one of those items, this could possibly be an upgrade for you depending on what you're wearing here.
RE: Verant Hates Warriors
# Nov 02 2001 at 8:10 AM Rating: Default
Items with haste on 'em that are face/back/hands are usualy a lot harder to get/more expensive than an fbss, so for the lower level warriors, which I assume this is aimed at, there isnt really much choise in haste items.
RE: Verant Hates Warriors
# Nov 02 2001 at 2:10 AM Rating: Decent
While I must admit this belt rocks...I do see his point. A warrior with no haste has a hell of a time keepin agro, their damage and taunt are all they have to keep said agro...and taunt is rather inconsistent...hell if the mob is over 50 you cant even taunt it unless your its level or higher

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 01 2001 at 8:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) not even, this really suxs. 10ac wow big deal, i think i shal get rid of this crappy 21% haste cause i can do another 250 dmg per minute. the smater ones now haste can make up for 17 lvls 10 ac i can get off a better bp or legs. haste is maily you belt, head, or fist.
