Pulling the church.

as a 51 SK doing his Greenmist quests... I have been killing the church, the lab, the blacksmith, and the Penkeeper spawn. Invis is your best friend here ... you can take on the chuch by invising to the very back of the church against the wall right behind the Imprecator spawn. I pulled this solo and got 1 sometimes 2 adds but the rest of the church stood and watched on as i killed the Sarnak behind the pulpit. Hope this helps.

Did this at 61 cause i got bored of the planes, really easy for a 61 nec with LoZ dont need any strategy, just kill everything=) cool graphic too.

This quest took me about 10 hours total as well.
The only hard part was the church. The MOST IMPORTANT thing, is to bring resist gear.
Nothing was sticking to me with resists at about 90. Also, I could also not hold the church solo without C3, as I had to tap and dark, and it was just eating too much mana.
There are 8 pops in there, cast from far and single pull them to the round room outside around the corner until the church is clear, they came 1 at a time, but swarmed if I or a pet went inside. After the room is clear, THEN go in and summon a pet. You have to take them out one after another during the initial clearing (Limit to about 10 sec down time between fights), and you will have a minute or so to med after the last is cleared and the room will start repoping again, but singly in the order that you killed them. This is CONSTANT fighting. Now, the best way I found to camp this room, is bring a lower lvl DRUID :) I had a 34 druid friend come with me (yes, 34 gets XP with a 51, lvl x 1.5 is the formula for a lower lvl to get XP with a higher lvl), and she gained over a full lvl in about 5 hours, and I had no mana problems as she could snare and spot heal. Plus awsome Druid resist buffs!

Sooo... Single pull to clear... Camp in the room... Bring a mid 30's druid and SPREAD THE XP while you camp! (All Dk Blue to her, green to me, so she got XP as if she soloed them)

I gues I should have posted here a year and a half ago, but what the heck. I have the Visceral Dagger on a Nec alt. The hardest part to this quest is staying awake. I was in that stupidLab on 3rd lvl for 9hours before I got the last shard. I completed this quest at lvl 49. My lvl 49 pet owned. I soloed the entire quest at 49.. healing pet and draining church was the hardest part to me. That was alotta adds on one pet, got worried, but I remember pet solod church with about 20% life left with me dumping all i could in it between fd's. Get a T.V., your favorite movie, and alotta coffee to do the final part of this quests..it was the most grueling camp i ever had the displeasure of sitting in.

well, for those saying that VI could make this like the raiders quest listen up. At least in the Swamp you could kill more then 1 mob to get the raiders to spawn. From what Ive experienced/read, there is only 1 PH for every imp, and the spawn time is around 15 minutes. Add to the fact that the lab imp doesnt always like to drop the shard. But, if it wasnt for Greenmist, i wouldnt be slaving away in PH hell

Jagged Metal Shard (Laboratory) AND Sharp Metal Shard (Church) are both dropable. The only no-drop pieces are the hilt and the hammer.

Shackle Room -- Camped this room SIX hours one day with no spawns. TWO hours the next day. Imprecator spawned finally, and I had my [Dagger Hilt].

Laboratory -- Camped this room ONE hour. Never saw the Imprecator. A kindly necromancer who was also in the zone sent me a tell fifteen minutes after I left, and met me in Dreadlands with the [Jagged Metal Shard]. (It's the only non-No Drop piece)

Church -- Camped this room THREE hours. Imprecator spawned to the right of the altar and dropped the [Sharp Metal Shard]. It's probably best for a necromancer of level 49 or less to pull this room from the connecting hallway, one at a time until the spawns are broken up.

Headless Statue Room -- This room was sort of difficult to hold, because it was so boring. Camped the blacksmith FIVE hours. He does, in fact, spawn behind the statues before starting to roam around the room. Dropped the [Forging Hammer of Dalnir]. This item is no longer No Rent.

You CAN use the forge while invisible, so you do NOT need to clear the room to combine the four parts.

Completed this entire quest solo at 49. Total of SEVENTEEN hours, which is about what I've seen posted elsewhere. Good luck!

Yeah, this is a bisch of a quest, but at least you can farm some fairly decent stuff while you hope for your spawns to pop. Was alone in the zone last night for about 5 hours. Killed all spawns in Statue room, ran to church, killed all spawns there, rinse and repeat. No luck last night so perhaps tonight I'll be a bit more lucky. I personally wouldn't waist my time on this quest if it weren't for the fact that I got the History of Greenmist drop from Charkok this past weekend ... looks like I am on the road to owning that sweet Greenmist wep :P

For any SK's doing THIS quest... they've already DONE the raiders quest and have a right to complain.

I personally have been camping the Blacksmith in the statue room for 3 hours with no luck... and I can only IMAGINE what the church is gonna be like... unfortunately I don't have the guild power or the time to camp 13 straight hours or clear the place very fast...

I do feel that these quests are worth it... but the spawn times are going to kill me... I already know 2 people who have the Greenmist, but without the guild or the insane time needed to camp these things... I'm never going to be able to catch up... and I even started the quests months BEFORE one of them.

OK! For all of you lizard SKs, don't complain how long this quest takes.
This is a really short quest compared to the one you need to kill the frog raiders for the damn pages AND the binder. Be glad that VI doesn't make another one like that! I will never level if they do!

Well, I finally did it....not much to say, the church was the worst...took me about 8 hours total (had to do it with a 45 iksar shamy that I sent a tell to). The Lab I was able to solo at level 42, only took me an hour there...the hammer and the dagger hilt...so easy not worth mentioning.....

I'm a 35 Iksar SK, but my friend let me use his 53 Iksar Monk to camp everything.

1] Shackle Room Imprecator: Took 5 minutes, went down killed him got peice. Note: Did this with my SK, had to HT him since I couldn't fear kite him.

2] Blacksmith: Got hammer while I was grouped on 2nd level, someone shouted that it dropped and I ran.

3] Lab Imprecator: Longest camp, took about 4 hours. I cleared that entire Kly fortress (excepting the Overseer room, couldn't solo that) and had 2 Gi's drop, 3 fighting gloves, 3 slippers. Gave tells to many a nearby monk, not a single one wanted to go through the trouble to get invis and run down there for good armor.

4] Chruch Imprecator: 3 hour camp, same results on monk armor.

5] Gave all the schtuff to my SK, he combined it and took it back and got his Hero's Khukri (yay!)... too bad I just recently got an MoSS. =P

How did you manage to give no drop items to your SK? I really want to know as do the rest of the EQ community I think.

Cause if you got those 4 items you should know they are all NO DROP.

Dude he knew what he was camping. He prolly had his sk camped in the room. When he "GAVE" it to his sk, and the fact that its no drop "OBVIOUSLY" means that he camped the monk and got on his sk. It dont take a freakin genious to figure that out. So get off his back. Sheesh. Be happy for the guy.

This quest is a joke! I have been trying to get the imp to spawn in the church for days now! I have no problem holding it at lvl 51, but I have spent more 16 total hours there (8 hrs 1 day, 4 the next, 4 hrs the day after) and no spawn. None of my friends what to hang out that long...half the loot is monk only-nodrop, the other half you cant even really sell anymore, save for a FEW items. I really think they need to "up" the spawn on this thing, or at least make it worth while. If people were making a mad dash for this quest, there would be a line a 46 miles long! I am beginning to wonder if this thing is even worth the trouble and bordom. My opinion: If you have your heart set on it, and love to play the game solo, go for it, otherwise don't waste your time.

Decided to try the Visceral Dagger quest. My necro is 49 and I brought along my lvl 59 druid friend for company. We play on the Rathe and the whole time we were there we were pretty much the only people in there. Went to the "Shackle Room" first. Some mage was there waiting for the thing to spawn to try to get a Dalnir Robe, but he didn't have a problem with us waiting. Took about an hour and a half for the Imp to spawn and we got the first piece. Then went down and went to the "Statue Room". Undead Blacksmith was up and got the hammer right away. Next went to "Church Room". Getting the Imp in that room took us about 3 hours. Then we moved on to the "Laboratory". He spawned about 20 minutes later but didn't have anything on him, so we tried again. Took about another 2 hours but this time he had the last piece. Made our way to the room with the forge. There were a couple things in the room but it wasn't a problem, then put the pieces in, hit combine, and got the dagger. Quest wasn't too hard and I am very happy I wasn't there for hours on end like other people who have done the quest. Good luck to everyone doing the quest!

Last night, me and a guildmate got the daggers for both of us, it took 13 hours of non-stop camping to get the Imp and Blacksmith to spawn 2 times so we both could hold the item. I must say the longest spawn was the Church Room, took us about an hour and a half just to get it to spawn once, and then it spawned again 30 minutes later.

Have fun, it was worth the wait..I even leveled!

Not likely you walked down and "bam" got the dagger impster. It comes in 4 pieces and these need to be combined. Expect to spend DAYS gathering the pieces. I currently have 3 (level 42 necro) of the 4 needed.
