These seem kind of useless to me. They have nothing to them but the +10 STA and it is large race only, and they usually have no shortage of STA anyway. There are much better shoulder items in bazaar cheap.
If you were me and I were you, would we still be friends?

Dont think any PCs will wear these, so just sell to NPCs. I got like 55p for them.

Is something left out, or I am correct in understanding that these have zero armor value? I don't care how scorched they are, they ought to have at least a little AC unless they're made out of cotton candy.

sadly these probably wouldnt sell other than to vendor , the lack of AC makes them pretty much useless to a PC

WHich means you only have to go and ask, and they will probably let you loot them.
Sagely, first, the font isn't wrong. Second, the pixels do get changed slightly when converted to jpg. Maeli, there are alot of stupid items out there with no use, but that doesn't mean they are fake. Jaredani, there is alot of platemail stuff chain classes can wear. Hell, why can't rangers where plate anyway? And why is their hp so low. Their **** is based off of d&d (hell everything is) and rangers main thing was constitution and they could wear plate.
what would be cool is if humans can dual class, get that warrior up to 59, the a rogue to 60 or somethin like that hehe

You're right, in AD&D rangers could wear plate-type armors, but they were losing their dual-weilding and all their roguish ability if they did so.

These are not fake, I happen to have some. They do drop from the rare/named cycle in FM, off a giant. Anyone who has run the cycle knows the giants rarely drop their loot, only the sarnaks are stingier in the cycle, that could be why they havent been reported until now, not to mention they are pretty worthless. I belive they dropped off the mountain giant prospector.

No you haven't, these are FM only. The ones in SolB are no drop and totally different.

Interesting... no AC, ... I would imagine that these would be for a quest, since literally 0 people would wear these... not even decent twink gear.

Not Fake..
Looted these from one of the named cycle spawns in FM some months back. They looked like junk, but held onto them for a few weeks in case they were for an interesting quest.. but I found no relevant info concerning them, so hihi destroy button.

another strange thing, why on earth has this only now been discovered? even some of the more obscure velious items are popping out, does the mob that drops this spawn every 8 months?

They aren't newly discovered, this site just never had them submitted I guess. EQmaps has had them under FM equipment for quite a while... which is odd because usually Allakhazam's and EQmaps are updated with the exact same items at the same time.
These look like plate from the name and picture - chain is generally a mantle, not a pauldron. So why can chain wearing rogues wear this?
Engraved Bone Pauldrons are useable by ALL/ALL, and they have the same plate icon.
I would say that the general reason some classes don't wear true plate armor is because most plate armor is made of very heavy and cumbersome material, such as steel or bronze. However, every once in a while, you get some magical plate armor that has lower weight and is perhaps made of a special type of material that makes it more flexible, less cumbersome, etc.

generally rogues, rangers, and shamans ARE chain classes but there are some plate armors that they can wear,(probably because theyre enchanted to be light or manuverable enough for those classes for roleplay) for example, totemic for shamans, TV from POF for rangers, WS for rogues and other plate armors, but yeah usually chain is rogues rangers and shamans, thats why the velious armor quest pieces for those classes is chain
